Random

Just some random things that's been going on lately....

*My heart seems to be doing better. My head - not so much - I think my head is screaming "Where's the caffeine?"!!! And the voice its using is VERY LOUD! Anywhoooo - my heart isn't thumping as hard - just seems to be when I get stressed out & when I eat. Maybe acid reflux playing a role too? Its funny - today is the best my hearts done - my mom said, "Whats different from today than the others?" - I told her - I'm not at work....hey - do I need to quit my job? If only....

*I just finished a great book called "I Became a Christian & all I got was a Lousy t-shirt" that my friend Joe lent me. Man, its really got me inspired to want to help & reach out to people. They used the example of Mother Teresa in that book & every story I hear of that woman just amazes me & makes me wonder why there are more people like her in this world!!!

*I know I havent posted alot of knitting lately - I'm still doing it - but alot of the projects are hush hush - Christmas time is coming.....& more importantly - I've been working on a project for literally over 2 years....& I think this is the holiday its going to be ready for....more details to come on this....I have to say - its beautiful!!!!

*I'm finally getting started on Twilight!!! My book came in the mail today. I told some girls in my small group that I would go with them to the movie when it comes out but so badly wanted to read the book first - heard so much about it....so tonight, I'll be going into the land of Bella & what's his name....see - haven't read it yet!

*And saving the best for last - I cooked today! And let me tell you - I pulled it off. Really, not me - the crock pot. That makes cooking nice & easy!!! But Ricky had to work last Saturday & was bummed about it so we agreed to stay home all day today & I told him I'd make dinner. I threw a roast, potatoes & carrots & all the fixin's in the crock pot this afternoon at noon & at 7:00 - we had the best dinner. I even made a cake for dessert!!!! WOW - I can do it if I HAVE to.....

Proof: This is Ricky's plate - he even said - "Take a picture - no one will believe it"....is that a compliment or a cut up? Anyways - this picture makes me want to barf - food is touching!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Relax & enjoy it!

  1. I'm very proud of you!! The meal looks great!

And another non food toucher. I'm not as bad as I used to be but my sisters are horrible.

  3. 'food is touching' - ha ha!

The roast looks delicious. Whenever I make a roast, it's in the crockpot. And my sister makes a great chocolate cake called 'triple chocolate mess' in the crockpot.

Halfway through Twilight already. Reading can get expensive. Is knitting a cheaper hobby? It seems like it would require patience though. Not sure I would be good at that.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. I have a quick question for you. I hope you don't mind me asking on your blog.

A friend of mine and I would like to start a blog for widows. She lost her husband just one year ago and has been a great form of support for me. Over the last few weeks we have talked about starting a team blog, where we can 'talk' to each other. Problem is I can't seem to figure the team blog thing out. I noticed that you are part of a few team blogs. Can you please give me some tips on how you did that?

    Thank you so much!!

  5. Yay for Crock pots!! I love it when fall comes because I like to cook chili and other soups in mine. My mom and dad gave me a big one for Christmas last year and I love it!

I like the new blog look! You did great! :)

Keep feeling good! No more headaches!!

  9. I'm here by the way and Georgie's SS blog. I was glad I peeked in! I like your blog and your down to earth, humble admissions.

I'm so much like that! I can't stand for my food to touch! In fact, I don't even like to mix stuff like veggies and rice together. If the syrup drips in my eggs from the pancakes, ewwwwww.

I've heard of the Twilight books but as much of an avid reader I am, I have yet to read it.

I'm working on a few projects...a children's book and a mural for a baby's nursery that has yet to near completion so I totally understand about the project taking a bit.

I would love to see your knitting.
