Sure its still not Monday????

This morning, Ricky wakes me up early & says "We got more snow then they expected - get up so you can get an early start"... my response was some sorta grumble.

I get up & get ready & Ricky went ahead & left. I got a phone call from him saying "BE CAREFUL!!!! I've seen three wrecks already & be especially careful at the end of our road - I saw one of the wrecks right there!  Its slippery"... yeah, yeah, yeah... let me get ready... I'm sleepy!

So I pull out of the garage & head down the drive & see car coming.  Now, our drive way is a slope & curves as well.  I stop to let this car get ahead of me & dang it, I slid right off the drive way!  OK - that woke me up!

I am creeping down our road & its a hard road to drive down in bad conditions.  Its very much a country road with hills after hills & some of them are pretty steep.  Its DANG slippery!  I head to the end of the road where Ricky said he saw the wreck & I'm aware at this point so I look and am going 8 mph!  Then what happens next?  Yep - I'm sliding... & I'm sliding right off the road!!!

I try to correct it which is the worst thing you can do so it throws me in a bigger spin... finally I just take my hands off the wheel (And no, I didnt break out into Carrie Underwood's song) & just thought, I'm not going that fast, let's see where this goes!  And right off the road I went!!!

Luckily there were no other cars around me to bang into & even more luckily, I ended up in a part of the road that is covered with gravel so I had some good traction to help get me out.  The worst part of it was having to call Ricky & tell him what happened... right where he said to watch out.. DANG IT!  Pride hurts sometimes, doesnt it?

Then I get to work & my computer is pretty much like this...

A big ole slug!  I have had to hit "reply" or "Delete" like 50 times to get one email out... I'm ready to pull my hair out... if I even get this blog post to actually POST, it'll be a miracle...so if I havent responded to an email or anything, thats why... I feel like I'm living in the dark ages of Pre-email... gasp!

THEN, I just happened to look down & seen I have on two different pairs of socks... How did that happen?  I guess during my grumbling with Ricky this morning is exactly when it happened... But isnt it kinda the cool thing to do now?  To wear different socks?  I'll just pretend it is & say I'm just too cool like that...

And the worst part - its only 10:54 am here... what else is this day going to hold?

We'll see....

  3. I left work early yesterday because the roads out in my neck of the woods were listed as "Travel not advised"! I wanted to drive home in the daylight and thank the Lord I did. Even here in MN winter driving can be a pain in the butt!

  11. I do not like to drive in weather like that. The first time I did and slide out and went to get out of the way because cars were coming both ways and hit a truck. I know not fun. Now I just let myself slide have a great day.. It will be okay.. hugs..

  12. Well, here's some good news! Your socks are actually in style! Yes, you read that right (http://www.littlemissmatched.com/). My kids got some pairs of these for Christmas and the package even said adults are wearing them! So that should bring a smile to your face on a not-so-smiley day. Hope tomorrow is better.

  14. I'm with you on this one. Hate the slow computers and as you know from my blog, my daughter slid off, only she wasn't quite as lucky, got a ticket and quite a bit of damage. Thank goodness it's an old car though and she wasn't hurt. Yuck!

  15. Well, just as I'm thinking that maybe you need my Thanks Not Cranks bracelet (wink), I scroll down and see the picture of two different socks. I had to laugh. Too funny, girlie!

Are you lucky that Ricky warned you before you got in the car? At least you were going slow down that road! Could have been so much worse!!

  17. Snow seems all cute and junk, till you start sliding and wrecking. Then it ain't such a kick is it?
I hate it when my computer is so slow. It makes me wish I could just shut it down and go back home.
