Wearing Team Colors...

First of all, I gotta say it...

GO UK!!!!!!!  CHAMPS!!!! WHOOOO - HOOO!!!!

OK... now that that's over... thank God that's over!!!

So I mentioned how last Friday, our whole town was dressed in Blue or Red...

I had to go pick up my race packet for my race at Papa John Stadium - where UL plays.

Let me tell you, on the drive through downtown to get to the expressway, all you saw was RED or BLUE...

& at the stadium, I thought I was gonna get ate up wearing blue... but it was SWAMPED with both colors. ... I actually think it was more blue... so my logicial  evaluation would say more runners like UK...

or at least UK fans take their lunch earlier then UL fans :)  One or the other...

But it was so funny because on the elevator up to the floor to pick up the packets, a guy was in front of me in UK garb.  He was BUFF... I'd almost swear he was Dolvett from Biggest Loser... a hunka hunka kinda guy.

Then a guy in UL wear got in & was standing right beside him...

I was in the corner of the elevator right behind them... I almost pulled out my cell to take a picture but didnt want to get in between these two, because they were having a STARE DOWN...

I was just waiting for one of them to say something about the game & then I'd have to crawl in between their legs to get off the elevator.

But they didnt... they just sorta "snarled" at each other...

who does that?

Grown men who take their basketball seriously... that's who...

I totally chuckled about it for the longest time...

Then on the drive back to work, seeing more red or blue everywhere, I got to thinking,

People are showing who they are.. what team they stand for... its OBVIOUS who everyone was rooting for... & some dont like who you pull for...

There are fights over it... there are words passed... there are stare downs & looks given.

And I thought, do I wear my Christ like this?  Do people see me & see me wearing "Jesus"?  Because if I did, I'd probably get more looks, words, stare downs... a lot of people dont like when you root for that team.  They dont WANT you to be vocal about it.

Just stick with your neutral color... make everyone happy.

I want to wear my "team colors" .... let everyone know that I'm on TEAM JESUS! :)

And how cool would it be to drive around & see everyone walking around wearing the same "team colors" ....

I bet the world would look a lot different :)

  2. Wow - excellent analogy! The world would certainly be a different (and better) place if we wore our "team colors".
