Prepared...

We headed down to another year of cheering on the Ironman athletes...

Its crazy what you see when you witness people running a full marathon, after you know they've been up since 5 am.... they've swam 2.5 miles & biked over 112 miles...

you look at their legs & think, "they've got to be worn out"

but you see people just moving along, looking strong, not even seeming out of breath, almost like they are ENJOYING this...

like its just another day... just another stroll through the park

...and then there are some others...

the ones you see that look like they cant take one more step...the ones that look like they are literally going to collapse any minute

Ricky & I were talking about that later & he asked, "Do you think they just didnt train for it right?"

& I know a lot of factors go into it... some days, you just feel off... might not have ate well the night before... maybe just feeling a little ill & decided to try the event anyways... lots of reasons...

but I do think people dont train correctly...

I did that myself
....my first half marathon
... didnt really realize what lay ahead.  I got up to 8 miles in training,  & thought, I can do 13.1 easily after that..

BBOOOYYYYYY, I was wrong... I still think back at that 'wall' I hit & wonder how I didnt die... I felt like I was close to seeing the light... & I woulda ran to it to feel better.

Sometimes, we just feel prepared ... when we're really not...

I think about the situations of life that come our way & how we may think we're prepared... we can handle it... we've got enough under out belts to know how to handle it...

but are we fully prepared?

Do we have Jesus on our side?

I think sometimes we think we've got it covered... we know what lays ahead
... & really, we have no idea how tough it can get...

Just wanted to remind everyone to be prepared completely for what the race of life holds for you...
Have Jesus there with you
... He'll get you through those 'walls'
... He'll help you put one foot in front of the other...

... Dont go through life unprepared...

  2. Ironman athletes always AMAZE me...and that's an understatement! There you go, again...taking a usual event and turning it into a lesson on FAITH! Love, love, LOVE IT!

  3. I THINK I'm prepared for things, but God always shows me that I'm not. :-) The unexpected always throws me...initially. I have to remind myself that nothing surprises God. I'm so glad He's on my side. :-)
