Time to Hodgepodge...

1.  The first week of August is National Simplify Your Life Week...what's one thing you could do this week to qualify as a participant?

I could not do the Hodgepodge & sneak & take a nap on my desk in my office before everyone gets here...

but what fun is a day without Hodgepodge....
& how embarrassing if I had drool on my work papers....

2.  It's also National Peach Month...peach pie, peach cobbler, or please pour me a Bellini? What's your peach pleasure?

I thought it said its "National PREACH Month"... I was getting ready to jump up & give an AMEN! ... but then wondered what peach pie & peach cobbler had to do with Preaching... then realized I'm WAY too tired this morning...

I've got to be in the mood for peaches... & not a fan of peach dishes.  They get too 'gooey' or slimy to me...

But I will say, in the grocery the other day, a lady had peaches cooking up in a pan with brown sugar & butter & poured it over angel food cake for samples - that stuff was incredible!  I ended up buying 3 peaches... & then letting them go back on the counter... Peach fail...

Speaking of which, I have a thing that said peaches should be left on the counter & not the fridge... but they were sucked dry like a shriveled raisin in 2 days... so do I put them in the fridge or not?

3. Eleanor Roosevelt once wrote, "Do one thing every day that scares you." Agree or disagree...explain.

I could agree with that... as long as that doesn't mean I have to go sky diving or get on a roller coaster...

4. What's your favorite household chore?  Yes, you have to choose one.

This is just wrong... its like asking, which puppy would you like to kick & you have to choose one.

Folding the clothes from the dryer... especially when they're warm & have no wrinkles in them.

Now, toting them up the stairs & putting them up is another thing...

5. Fodor's recently listed (what they've dubbed) the ten most beautiful sunset spots in America. Click here to read more or see pretty pictures, but this is their list...

Butterfly Beach in Santa Barbara CA, Mount Haleakala in Maui HI, Old Fort Marcy in Santa Park Fe NM, Laguna Beach California, Hopi Point in Grand Canyon AZ, Four Seasons in Miami FL, Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica CA, Gay Head in Martha's Vineyard MA, Ensign Peak in Salt Lake City UT, and Mallory Square in Key West Florida.

Have you seen the sun set from any of these spots? If you could choose to watch the sun set from one of the spots on Fodor's list, which would you choose.  Where was the prettiest sunset you've ever seen?

So none of these areas are anywhere close to me... bummer...

I think the sunset is beautiful no matter where its at... after all, its the same sun...

I usually plan photo sessions as the sun is starting to go down - the "Golden Hour" ... the light is beautiful...so to me, doesn't matter what state I'm in... its all beautiful to me, whether across the world, or in my own back yard...

(That sounded very Dorothy Gale at the end of Wizard of Oz, didn't it?)

One of my favorite parts of the movie... The Scarecrow is my favorite...

6. What's your favorite or most used app?  If you don't use apps, how about your favorite or most visited website?

I am on Instagram most of the time... just because I love pictures & am a visual person.   I'm "RebeccaJoKnits" if you're on there... send me your name & I'll follow you as well!

Also always on My Fitness Pal... which is great to see that I'm under my calories & STILL getting fat.. YEAH!!! ... OK, maybe they don't want to hire me as a salesperson.

7. We've recently passed the halfway mark for 2013...write a seven word sentence that sums up your year thus far.

It's flying by very very very fast

YEAH... I can remember how to do the trick from school on how to get that word count!... me is smart...

8. Insert your own random thought here.

We took Monday off to recover from the youth retreat... I think I need a week off to sleep & recover... but we went to finally go see "The Wolverine"...

OK... how cute is this Wolverine?

The kids are back in school around here so it was great - there was like 3 other people in the whole theater...

LOVED IT... & it really was kinda dumb & confusing... but I didn't even care...

It's Hugh Jackman!

I kept telling Ricky, "Watch, he's going to break out in Les Mis songs any minute"... Ricky said, "If he does, I'm walking out" :)

The action was good in it but I'm such a "that was stupid" person... like there is a town of ninja's... literally hundreds of ninja's on roofs EVERYWHERE... & there is a place where the bad guy is at & what do they have on the fence to keep people out?  A tiny chain with a lock you get at the dollar store.  The girl just takes her samari sword & slices the chain in two... in she goes... & not like the ninja folk couldn't jump over the fence too...

see... stupid...

But its HUGH JACKMAN!!!... none of it matters....

I will say, the best part of the whole thing?  The 2 minute clip in the middle of the credits... XMEN!!!!!! YEAHHHHH BABYYYY!!!!!

  2. Well, who needs an iron when you get your clothes out of the dryer while they are still warm ?! I usually forget they are in there ;)
I would throw those wrinkly peaches out.

  3. Here's my peachy .02-peaches need to sit out for a bit until they're 'just right'...then they need to be eaten. I don't refrigerate mine. Also-grilled peaches are yummy on top of ice cream!

So do you like Hugh Jackman? : )

  5. I have to admit I like the smell of peaches cooking but I prefer to eat them fresh. I love roller coaster but life is often a roller coaster of emotions. Funny, I don't like folding them but I enjoy putting the laundry away. I do love Hugh Jackman but I'm not sure I want to see the movie.

  6. Oh, yeah! It IS Hugh Jackman! I finally watched Les Mis on the plane, and I cried. Gaw, I'm such a nerd!
Although, the teacher said that if it was showing he was going to watch it, so don't be surprised if we hear him belting out a song. I think he was one of the lucky ones who actually got to sleep, 'cause I didn't hear him.

  7. I felt the same way about The Wolverine. Including the "But it's Hugh Jackman!" moments. Super pumped about the extra scene!
