Prayers for my dad today....

I probably wont be able to make the blog rounds today so forgive me...

but I'm posting for some prayers today.

I'll be spending today with my mom as we wait to hear how my dad is doing... he's having shoulder replacement today.

This isn't the surgery we thought he would have.  He is actually supposed to be about 2 weeks in recovery from a hip replacement. BUUUTTTT, I get my slick moves through the genes apparently, because my dad took a pretty good slip on the hill down to his barn to feed his horses with all this ice & snow & mud...

& I must get my "let's do it right" habits from my hereditary as well, because my dad just didn't hurt his shoulder - he pretty much jacked it up crazy.  That's the polite way of saying it.

He broke his bone in 2 places & tore the muscles away from his shoulder.

OH MY GOSH...

Somehow my Bicep Tendonitis doesn't seem so bad anymore.

But they wouldn't let him keep his Hip Replacement Surgery appointment because I guess you need your upper body strength to do crutches... & when you have a broken shoulder?  Yeah... you see the issue.

The bad thing?  The doctor warned him how painful this surgery is.
Most of the time, doctors try to sugar coat things - right?  Nope, this time, the doctor is like, "you are going to hurt - & you're going to hurt HARD... & LONG" ...
The pain is supposed to be so intense, he will have to stay a few days in the hospital for morphine.

The pain comes because the muscle has to RE-GROW around the metal plate they're putting in his shoulder.

OH... MY.... HEAD.... (dizzy.... going faint....)

Doesn't this sound like something in Terminator where they make Cyborgs?

So anyways... this is a long way to quickly ask for prayers for my dad.  That the pain isn't as bad as we expect for him.  That he can tolerate his hip pain until he can heal from this shoulder surgery & get his hip replacement surgery rescheduled.  That our family can be there for him all we can... that means us having to take care of horses & cleaning stalls.

Where's my cowgirl boots?

So we appreciate all the prayers lifted.  Prayers matter & make a difference.
