Thankful Thursday

It's been tough lately trying to find things to be thankful for when life just keeps punching you in the gut... but it's possible...

I missed last Thursday since it was the day after Sydney passed away & then I've been all out of sorts, so I'm doing this week a little different.  Trying to look back over the week, not specifically in any order - just finding some of the silver linings I have had in my life, even in the dark parts...

Thankful 10/01/14

1 // Celebrating my mom's birthday.  It was such a beautiful evening to eat out on her porch & have cake.  I had to take this picture of mom with the twins because I told her on my TimeHop, for the past 2 years, I have a picture of the girls right behind her.  It's a fun way to see how they are growing.

2 // Big Loom ... I'm loving my tight knit loom.  You should see how beautiful this cowl is coming out.  I'm so thankful that I have this craft to keep my mind busy right now.

3 // I saw a Instagram friend talking about these & saw the spinach bites in the store & wondered about them. She told me to try them. OH.MY.WORD! They are delicious. They remind me of a spinach ravioli actually.  This will be a must on the grocery trip now.

4 // The Best Yes - so glad to be reading this book

5 // Teaching in the Youth ... I love these kids

6 // Celebrating a baby.  There is nothing but joy in that!

7 // I'm so thankful that Ricky & I took off work to spend the last day with Sydney.  It's probably one of the things I'm most thankful for in the last days of her life.  She knew we loved her. I have no doubt. ....

7b // to add onto that - I'm so thankful for a husband who loves our dogs with such a kind heart.  It is a special person that has that kind of love for fur-babies.

8 // Blog Buddies who make me cry & are so thoughtful.   I saw this in my email & instantly teared up.  For someone to take the time to let me know they care... someone I've never even met in person but develop friendships through blog world. It touches me so much.  I told her I would get a drink & toast it to our girl.  Here's to a good long life that was dedicated to love, friendship & loyalty.  To our Baby Girl.

9 // Friend that have sent cards in the mail.  When I see them in the mail, Ricky & I stop in the day & read them & are just thankful we have friends who understand what Sydney really meant to us.

What are you thankful for this week?

  4. I'm glad you're making your way back up through the grief (although I know it's a process & not actually all that linear). Here's hoping you find gentle joy around you this week...

  6. Just reading your first paragraph made me cry because that is how I'm feeling right now. I do know that when things are at their worst we can still find things to be thankful for. I love your list......
