Hodgepodging it up today

Click to join in
I haven't joined Joyce in awhile & decided to jump in again with the awesome bloggers over at the Hodgepodge....

1. When is your next big deadline? What's it for?

I just finished up my pictures for my last wedding WAY ahead of schedule & I don't have a photo session for the next 2 weeks so I'm looking good as far as deadlines go.

I'm not even going to stress & try & think of one because it'll put me on panic.

Today, no deadline... I'll take it

2. May is National Barbecue Month. Do you prefer cooking indoors or out? What's the best thing about a barbecue? What's the last thing you cooked on an outdoor grill?

Being a vegetarian, the thought of barbecue pork or meat gives me
basically this reaction:

We don't actually even own a grill since meat has been banned from our house.  I am thinking of getting another one because I do like some good grilled veggies though.

3. What is one thing on your "never again" list?

People ask me all the time if I ever miss eating meat since I turned vegetarian.  Nope... no way.  That is the first thing that came to mind. I'll never eat anything that breaths air again.  I have been dabbling in the world of pescetarian-ism ... where you eat seafood.  The idea of eating shrimp doesn't bother me as bad.  Maybe because I've never seen a shrimp before.  & I can't hug a shrimp.  If I can wrap my arms around it & hug it, I ain't eating it....

4. What's something that annoys you about people your own age? Something you love about your generation?

Annoys:  How accomplished people my age are.  At 43, people have really set themselves up to be successful in careers & goals... while I'm still at the same desk I've been sitting at for 23 years.... this is depressing...

Love:  Health aware.  I think my generation really is stepping up to make healthy changes in our lives.  Maybe we'll all live to average ages of 100

... & I'll probably still be sitting at this desk...

Gotta love Debbie Downer

5. Lilac, iris, hyacinth, pansy...your favorite purple flower?

I love Lilac's... they smell like what I imagine Heaven will smell like....

6. What's a song that always calms you down?

Anything Disney..

I love all the songs from Disney movies.
How can you NOT be in a better mood when they are blaring?

7. What's the last thing you donated?

I just switched over my closet from winter to spring/summer... & with basically NOTHING fitting me, I have 2 huge bags of clothes ready to be delivered to Goodwill.  Not even joking... I have 4 office suits that are straight out of Dynasty with the shoulder pads & pearl buttons... its quite funny.

I also had a Suzanne Sommer Thigh Master in there I donated...

My closet was like a closet to an 80's version of Narnia

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I've been doing a challenge for May getting in 10,000 every day.  So far, I'm 12 out of 12 days! YES!!! ... & so far, my shins have started tingling.  It can't handling all the steps.  Which is quite embarrassing & a shame.  I'm excited to see how long I can take this challenge!

  2. Do you know how happy I am to see you joining us for Hodgepodge, again? You have been greatly missed! Ah, shoulder pads...I had quite the collection myself. They don't work too well on someone who's only 4'10". Awesome job on your 10,000 step challenge! You are one INSPIRING lady!

  5. Corn on the cob is great on the grill!! I just got a fitbit for mother's day so I've become very aware of my steps lately. Getting 10,000 isn't easy - GO YOU!! Oh and now I'm picturing an 80's version of Narnia -- Lucy dressed like Punky Brewster - ha!

  7. So glad you decided to come back and join us today. I really got a chuckle out of your answers and animations. Hubby and I began Vegan over a year ago. I have brought back chicken some and we Louisianans can't do without an occasional seafood meal. In fact, we have been to three boiled crayfish dinners in the past three weeks. Loved the closet imagery!

  9. Our daughter stopped eating meat about six years ago. She doesn't want to eat things that breathe either. Truthfully my husband and I do not eat as much meat as we use to. Maybe only once a week. I wish we had lilac's here, I miss their beautiful fragrance. Way to go on the steps!

  13. OH man... it's soooo annoying when people ask if you're ever going to eat meat again. People are just so curious about vegetarians in general though... I find it kinda weird because it's not THAT uncommon these days.
