Thankful Thursday {Link up #44}

This week I am Thankful For:

... seeing so many precious faces from the past.  When Vicki passed away, & so many people came to support her family & to join together, it reminded me that  churches may break apart, but church family stays close to our hearts & together in the hard times.

... so thankful for getting to meet Vicki & to be able to call her friend throughout the years.  The sweet memories I get to have of an amazing woman that taught us so much in the way she lived.

... watching Madi use her skills playing basketball.  She is so good & I love that since she has started taking her insulin, she's got more energy & feeling even better playing.  She's going to be quite the star as she grows up.

... & also getting to see Sophia do her thing as her first year on the cheerleading team.  I just wanted to go over in the middle of all this big bowed girls & just hug her.  I just really love that both of the girls get to do what they want to do... even if they are totally opposite things.

... so thankful for a friend to sit with at the girl's game.

... I was safe after 3 deer ran in front of me driving home late on Monday.  Our road is hilly, dark & small.  I came over the hill just in time to see 3 deer darting out in the road.  I hit my brakes & one dear still shot across the road, one turned around & one just stopped.  I veered & just barely missed him.  WHEEEWWWWW!  I had to stop a second because I was shaking ... & then was scared to death someone was going to fly over the hill (because everyone FLIES OVER THE HILLS on my road) & ram me in the back end, so I got moving again.  I was a nervous wreck for an hour after, but so thankful it was a near miss!

...vacation.  I know I just came back from vacation, but I still have another week that I get off in November.  Vacation back to back. I'll take it! I am very thankful for all the time off I get at work.

... the Indian summer we've had.  I know it won't last much longer but its been in the 70's this week & I would take Fall year round if it was like this.  BUTTTT, colder temps are nearing.  To be expected I guess. But makes you enjoy the nice days even more.

What are you Thankful for this week?

  4. I'm so thankful for every nice day we have ... that's one less cold day (I'm hoping, anyway). The downside to fall (besides the time change) is that it ushers in winter. Ugh.

  6. Thank god you didn't hit the deer and the deer didn't destroy your car!!! My uncle had a run in with a deer and it totaled his car. He was safe though, but I'm sure the accident shook him up too.

    Love the fact that the cheerleaders can do their own thing, that really allows them to share their personality more and lets them be individuals while being part of a group.

  10. I don't even know what to comment on since there are so many great things you have to be thankful for! That feeling of nervousness after things like your run-in with the deer is never fun! So glad you were able to avoid a collision!

  11. Found you at Holly's Attitude of Gratitude link up. Just love these grateful link ups. The deer .... so can relate. We live in the country and I am forever trying to avoid those cuties. They come out when I least expect them. So glad you missed! Thanks for the link up.

  17. I saw a deer running across our busy interstate a few months ago. It was totally bizarre. I'm from South Carolina and used to live in the middle of nowhere, so there are tons of deer that run across the road there, but kinda freaked me out when one ran down a busy interstate.

  18. Good thing you had your witts about you to not stay idle in the road too long incase someone bumps you! I'm in a big city, the most we have to avoid is the folks crossing the street with their eyes on their phone screens and not watching where they are going! Sad but true, we actually had folks fall into the subway rails because they missed the door and walked between the two subway cars instead by not paying attention.

    Girls in sports Woo Hoo!!!!

  20. After like two solid weeks of rain, it's supposed to be sunny and 70 degrees here today. AND I'm stuck inside at work. BOO! Such a cute little cheerleader! It's funny to see how different they are. My brothers are twins and it was neat to see how their interest were so different!
