Life lessons

My dad sent me an email the other day that a woman wrote her "Life Lessons"... the funny thing is, the email says she's 90 years old.  So I go to look up this lady, Regina Brett, & find that she's basically an urban legend.  She's not really 90.  She just turned 50 actually & has taken this "90 thing" with a great sense of humor... & reading her writing & other things, she seems pretty awesome.

She wrote 45 lessons she has learned when she turned 45 after she has struggled through breast cancer, & being a single parents & basically just making it through the hardships of life we all go through... & now that she's turned 50, she added onto it - & she's even wrote a book called "God Never Blinks: 50 lessons for life"... but she has shared her 50 things & I think they are wonderful to read over.

I actually have kept the email my dad sent me with these things for months & catch myself reading them over & over ... more then likely, I read them on a Monday when I'm complaining about life.

So here you go... read up... soak them in... & enjoy

  2. This is beautiful. Lol at #23. There are so many good ones here I couldn't pick just one favorite. These are good for people of any age, I should share them with my middle schoolers. I wonder how the rumor got started that she is 90?

  3. Love these! I haven't gotten through all of them yet, there's a sweet little two year old who is standing here asking me to "sit him" so it's time for snuggles, but I will definitely be back to read the rest!

  6. 29 and 38-
In my "old age" I have learned not to care what others, aside from my immediate family think of me. I do value what my immediate family says and thinks. It's important that I know my actions show those immediate family members I love them. As for #38- My pastor just preached a sermon regarding the Psalms and how they handle every human emotion. The Psalms could be considered collective and common prayer. Thanks for sharing- maybe this summer I can get this book and enjoy a good pool-side read. Have a toad-ally awesome week!

^I'm so guilty of saving something for a special occasion. It's all special.

  12. This is AWESOME. I agree with Jessie's comment above, the not saving things for a special occasion really stood out to me! I love that they decided to say she's 90...I mean, she's wise beyond her years, it seems! They just wanted to make her level of wisdom believable. Ha!

  18. Yes yes yes! Love all of this. I started using the "will this matter in 5 years" frame of thought when it came to picking little fights with my husband and honestly it has pretty much cut out ALL of our arguments. Life is too short!
