The weekend that we spent 50% of it celebrating & the other 50% in the car driving... & 52 years!!!!

This was truly the weekend of celebration... with 2 weddings & a birthday... & with JOY Bible Sisters, which is always a celebration when we get together. I dont think I could have handled any more.  I know Harvey Dent couldnt handle anymore with us being away from home :)

Honestly, I think I was all over town.. maybe twice... this weekend. Like I went through 3/4 tank of gas in just a few days.  Every place we had to go to was from one opposite polar place than the other.  Thank God for AC in the car & good jams playing away... & no traffic... & for GPS...

But here's a highlight of my busy weekend.

Friday

... Free Starbucks reward.  Always makes the Fri-yay celebration so much better when its a free celebration.

... I knew my weekend was going to be so busy, so I went ahead & got in a workout while I could.  I was sweating up a storm.

 :

... & was so glad I did the work out because PIZZA!!!!! Yes!  Fri-yay celebration was in full effect.

 :
Blurry - probably because I was just wanting to hurry & eat!

... Did my nails & toes so they would match my dress for the next day.  When I do my nails, the dogs either a) Run from the smell of the polish or b) want me to pick them up or love them when I have wet nails.  One or the other. Never know.

 :
#NailedIt

Saturday

... Made a big breakfast for Ricky & I.  I knew we were going to need to start the day on a full belly with the go go go day we had ahead.

 :

... I took the beautiful morning & went outside & started in our next JOY book we are going to discuss.  Just chapter 1 had me highlighting, underlining, wanting to read the whole thing to Ricky. I can't wait to read more.

 :

... with it being a busy weekend I wanted decent hair so I went up to the salon & had one of the hairdressers straighten my hair for me. I can never do it just right.  & plus, when I do it, its a puff of frizz an hour later anyways. So frustrating.  I was glad to stop up there though because my stylist's daughter was getting married that day & everyone was getting ready to come up to the shop for their hair & make up.  My friend Chasity was the Matron of Honor & bless her, her back is in pain & she had so much to do, so I was so happy to help her get some food together for the bridal party before I left.

... Wedding #1.  One of Ricky's coworkers was getting married & he was not about to miss it. Even though he was in DIRE PAIN.  Like he took a pain pill kinda pain. He never took a pain pill coming out of surgery... & he took one this day. That tells you something.  Poor guy.  But I think if his arm was cut off, he still wouldn't have missed his friend's wedding.

 :

Fun side note - the fire alarm went off at this wedding. & with regulations, they had to wait for the fire department to come & inspect things & turn it off so the wedding got delayed for like 25 minutes & I think we were all deaf from the constant alarm going off for 20 minutes.

In the end, the priest was so funny & delightful... & is it a job requirement that they all have voices that would make them winners on The Voice?  & the bride was gorgeous!  She just looked SO HAPPY the whole service.

 :

We tried to stick around for the reception, but they had a cocktail hour & there was no seating anywhere & poor Ricky, with his pain, he couldn't handle it.  We had to go sit in the car & then he didn't think he could make it back in.  I felt so bad for him.

Another Fun Fact of the wedding:  The priest, I swear, I had to look at him like 20 times to make sure he wasn't the party planner guy from The Real Housewives of Atlanta.  Seriously.  Twins.

The Party Planner... not the priest

... we stopped on the way back to Indiana for something to eat.  It was fun going into WW Cousins in a lace dress when it was crowded with some sort of little league team.  #Iamclassylikethat

 :
I loved my new dress

Best part of WW Cousin is where they have to call your name that your order is ready - someone gave the name where they called, "Star-Lord, you're order is ready"...

I'm going to have to give the name Belle from now on.

... I think that was the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever eaten in my life. I may have been starving, but it was still amazingly good.

... Off to wedding #2.  Ricky wasn't sure he was going to make it.  But he really wanted to be go to show the Bride's mother how much he cared about her.  We love her & her family.  So glad we made it too, seeing friends we haven't seen in awhile & getting to support these brides in their new life together.

 :

... not sure what happened, but the mics weren't working at this wedding & we honestly heard not one word of the ceremony.  It was so funny watching everyone trying to listen intently or trying not to make a sound.  But the wedding was outside & just outside noises were drowning out any sound the officiant was giving.  We got the cue it was over when they kisses & walked down the aisle.  haha

 :

... love seeing my youth kiddos out at things.  They never grow up enough where I dont think they aren't my kids :)

 :

 :
Another one of my youth kiddos... I miss her so much!!!

... Poor Ricky got home & took another half of a pain pill & knocked OUT!  I'm not sure why its hurting so badly 2 weeks after the surgery.  Needless to say, we are both a little concerned.  He's going to be calling the doctor soon.

... I ended up hanging out with my new Kindle Fire (Thanks Prime Day) & watched The Age of Adaline.  I just adore Blake Lively.

The Age of Adoline! (2015) Director: Lee Toland Krieger Writers: J. Mills Goodloe (screenplay), Salvador Paskowitz (screenplay), 3 more credits » Stars: Blake Lively, Michiel Huisman, Harrison Ford:

Sunday

... with Ricky still in some pain, we decided to skip church.  Which suited me because I was on a mission to learn how to get my new Kindle Fire to connect with bluetooth.  Let's just say, I am not good with technology most of the time. I had to call Amazon's service department which got me up & going.  But man, that was a job.  & I'm not THAT much of a stupid head. It really was hard to find the route to get to the Bluetooth connection. It didn't have the little icon right when you pulled down the screen.  Just wanted to make sure this is noted. Remember - I am NOT a stupid head.  At least when it comes to this.

 :
Thanks Amazon Prime Day
... I headed to my JOY Sisters & we started off our new book.  We had 2 new faces & there were 6 babies in that room y'all.  6 BABIES.  It was a loud, hectic, funny & ADORABLE time.  Seeing these babies play together & smile at each other.  It's heart warming.  Really. Ricky asked me, how did you talk about anything?  Mainly because he knows when babies are in the room, we all just want to love on babies... but I think we do a good job at multi-tasking.  Baby loving & Jesus talking.  There's a new name for our group right there!

 :
One of our little JOY Babies... & my Grand Buddy

... I left right from Bible Study to head to the OTHER side of town for my Mother in Law's birthday.  Love when the Vincent side gets to get together.  Made me even happier because our youngest who is back in town, Lindsay, got to come over with her friend & see everyone.  She hasn't seen this side of her family in Yearrrrssssssssssssssssss.  She saw her cousin & about freaked out.  He's 20 now... I think the last time she saw him, he wasn't even in school yet.  Time flies man.

... I am horrible at corn hole.  Yes, I am a stupid head at corn hole. Or "Bags" as we found out they are called in Iowa. (Where Lindsay was living)

... we headed home about 8:30 so we didn't make it home until a little after 9... & mercy me. I was exhausted.  That wasn't even the word.  But I couldnt end my weekend until we settled in to catch up on Big Brother. Anyone watching it?

SO we survived the busy weekend & loved all the fun celebrations that life has to offer & we get to enjoy with friends & family...

& today, I have to give a big shout out because today is my parent's 52nd Wedding Anniversary!!!!

52 years... amazing....  Congrats to my parents.

 :

  1. congrats to the parents!! woo hoo! Love the polish. That guy is a hairstylist in Atlanta--he's on another level, lol. I've worked with him before. When my brother got married, they used a family member who was a retired preacher. He was 92 and kept dozing off and repeating stuff over and over to where we joke if they were actually married or not!! ;)

  2. Congratulations to your folks and to the two couples who tied the knot!! Your dress is beautiful and I had no idea your hair was that long!! Wow! I'm sorry to hear Ricky is still in so much pain. I will tell you that two of my friends who had hernia surgery (a man and a woman) also suffered pain for a long time. One is still in pain and it is several years later. He wears a binder because it still hurts so bad. Ricky needs to see his doctor for sure. Soon. It's not good to let it go when it should be healed and not hurting anymore.

  7. I was in a wedding on Saturday, so most of the weekend was spent doing wedding things. I danced 15,000+ steps worth at the reception, which was my favorite. The bride let me change shoes, which is a must & I got my dance on.

I hope Ricky's pain subsides soon & that the DR can get him in quickly to get some answers.

  8. Ricky needs to call! It's terrible to have so much pain two weeks out.

Love your purple dress and polish. Gus always wants to get picked up while I'm painting my nails. Like right in the middle, always. LOL

    Happy anniversary to your parents!

  14. 52 years is amazing! Busy busy weekend for you! We found ourselves with nothing to do on Saturday (first time in a LONG time) so we took a road trip to Madison to walk around the beautiful downtown. It was my first time there but I'm definitely going back! And your post reminded me that I have 2 Starbuck rewards I need to use up and SOON!

  15. aw 52 years!! congrats to your parents. that sucks about ricky being in that much pain, that is horrible :(
i love giving fake names when places ask for it. sometimes i do belle or cindy (i feel a wee bit silly saying cinderella haha) but then i have forgotten which name i gave so now i just give Kris (and they always spell it Chris, you can't win 'em all).
did you like the age of adaline? i did like it, but thought the father/son connection was just a bit too odd lol

  16. Aww congrats to your parents! I love seeing old wedding pics like that (not that your parents are old). You certainly did have a busy weekend. I love both your dress and your nail color. That is really something about the fire alarm going off during the wedding. That is surely something to make that wedding memorable. I hope the bride wasn't too upset!

  18. 2 weddings in one day is impressive stamina for anyone, especially someone recovering post surgery! I really hope the dr is able to sort out Ricky's pain. Congrats to your parents, 52 years - wow. Also, I think you look a lot like your Dad :)
