What's Up Wednesday - January

Mix & Match Mama

What We're Eating This Week

I've all about cauliflower rice lately!
Making some of it with edamame & some chopped up veggies & add in some egg?
It is DELICIOUS!
& on Weight Watchers - its actually ZERO POINTS!

What I'm Reminiscing About

Having motivation to work out.
My mojo is just gone.
What's happened?
I'm looking at you hormones

What I'm Loving

Image result for chewy.com

If you have a pet & aren't using this - you are missing out.
I love being able to have my dog's food brought to my front door.
& they're great at getting things to you fast too.
I've realized I'm nearing the end of Bruno's food - & he HAS to have this certain food - & they get it to you in 2 days - some times I've gotten it in LESS than 24 hours!
I can't say enough about Chewy's
They've even sent us postcards for the dogs... & I've seen a painted canvas painting of a friend's dog they sent to her after an error they corrected, as an extra bonus.
Seriously - try them
(No - I'm not getting paid to say this & no affiliates at all)

What We've Been Up To

It's been all about Ernie lately & watching him & training him & reminding him he is NOT the owner & controller of his house.  I forgot how much puppies take up your time. Especially little punk puppies.  I keep telling him its a good thing God made him cute.

What I'm Dreading
I cant really think of anything I'm dreading
... but I guess if I think further ahead, I'm dreading Ernie getting neutered.
I just hate when one of my pets have to go through surgery.
I think he's going to be fixed in April... but yeah, already dreading it

What I'm Working On
I'm working on my schedule for the year
... how I want to schedule it. or NOT schedule it is more like it.

What I'm Excited About
I can't say enough about Kroger Click List
... I am TRULY excited about it.
It has helped us out for my parents needing grocery so they can pick what they want & I can go pick it up for them... & it is helping my grocery bill. I literally sit there & go over my list & check my cabinet if I really need it. My grocery bill has been under by like $25.00 at least each time.

What I'm Watching / Reading
Finally finished up The Crown Season 2
& getting caught up in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

As for real TV, I've still about Riverdale & Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
& this year, I've actually been watching The Amazing Race.
I quit watching years ago when Rob & Amber from Survivor were on there & it was so obvious it was set up when they held up the plane so the other couple could get on as well - Rob & Amber totally had that win by a full day until that happened.  SO RIGGED.
& how do I not mention This is Us?
OHHHHH MY GOOOSHHHHH!!!!

What I'm Wearing

WIW January

All about Winter & covered legs & feet.
How I miss you sandals!

What I'm doing this Weekend

I'm hanging with a few thousand middle school kids this week.
Yep - another year of BELIEVE.
I've honestly forgotten how many years this makes for me.
... & excuse me while I pray even harder about being in a room full of germ-infested kids during flu season.

The weekend that I read a lot....

Man... I havent sat & read like this in a long time... not like I did this weekend.

Well, it all started on Friday when I saw some of my reading friends on Twitter talking about a challenge for the weekend called #24in48.

I was like "24 books? NO WAY"... but come to find out, it was trying to read 24 hours within a 48 hour time span.  I signed up - just to see how much time I could invest in it & just to have a really good reason to sit & finish my book.

So Friday, I got home & put my Kindle on charge & spent the rest of the evening knitting & watching some things on my DVR - Riverdale & The Good Place & of course, had to watch 20/20 where they talked to those gymnasts from that nightmare doctor.  WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD???

Saturday, I had hopes of sleeping in, but dang it, the hubs left the bathroom light on & i've gotten to the point where if there's any light on, it just keeps me up. I feel like I can see it even with shut eyelids... so I was awake earlier than I wanted.

But that was ok today, only because I had my reading challenge to start.

Ironically, I charged it up & didnt even use my Kindle... used hardback books instead

I honestly made a quick breakfast on purpose so I could jump in my reading.

& luckily, it was a rainy & gloomy day. Something I dont normally say as lucky on a Saturday - but it made for great reading weather.

I actually finished the book I was currently reading...

Read some more in my Bible study & my Bible - totally counts - should count even more with it being God's Word - just saying ;) ...

& then started another book.

I felt like a champ.

Someone else wasn't amused by all the reading.

They were lazy all day with the rain & me sitting in the enclosed room....

Again, it was the perfect day for a readathon.

I did stop to do some laundry through the day - but didnt get my work out in.  I scarified it for working out my brain. Fair trade, right?

& Ernie did give me a little bit of distraction in the middle of the day

I ended up sitting outside in my room until it was pitch dark & I so far in my new book. I was super impressed with my reading ability.

Totally dark outside... my reflection sitting in the same seat I sat in all day long
I did so much reading that Saturday night, I honestly dreamt about reading & woke up frantic that I didn't set my timer for the time I read... in my dreams... man, this challenge was sinking in deep.

Sunday, I got up to go to MSM & didnt have time to read in the morning... but took my challenge seriously & finished another book on the road - an audiobook. This one took me forever to get through - I started this thing MONTHS ago - so I was glad for the challenge to make myself listen to it until I was done.

I headed home after picking up groceries from Click list (I may never step in a grocery again).... & was able to take time time to sit outside, this time in a beautiful warm day, & drink some Starbucks & read the book I was into.

I can't believe I made it half way through this book in less than 24 hours... its a 400 page book too - I guess I can get through some books if I make the time for them.

I had to stop reading for a bit so we could go over & feed dad's horses for him & get to visit my parents... my dad's poor knee. Man - its bad this time y'all... keep the prayers going for him.  He goes to the doctor on Thursday.  I see a surgery REAL SOON in the future for him.

I would have probably finished my book when I got hoome, but I got to go to my middle school girls bible study & that was totally a good trade off.

It was such a good study - focusing on anxiety & our worries.... man, we start young with those worries... but the girls are so fired up for this weekend - we're heading to BELIEVE ... everyone is PUMPED UP!!!!

& by the time I got home & fed the dogs, my reading time was coming to an end... I didnt even come CLOSE to the 24 hours...

But honestly, I am super happy with that time. For me.. & for my first time doing this challenge. I am more prepared now to know what this looks like to do this... they have another challenge in July & I'm totally clearing out my calendar for that & really going to strive to hit that 24... if anything, make it further than I did in this round.

& the best part, I still ended up a winner in this! I got drawn for a door prize! YAHOO!!!! I got a choice of things to pick from - I'm either getting a hardback book - or the audio book of the 3rd book in the Me Before You series (CANT WAIT) or a Punny Bookmark set - I'm thrilled with whatever shows up at my door.

I couldnt have asked for a better readathon experience.

& in the end, a great weekend!

How was your weekend?

Have you ever done a readathon?

Another day off, hat survived & good reports{Thankful Thursday #160}

Image result for knit by god's hand thankful thursday

41 / Day off!!
I still cant believe I just got my first ever Martin Luther King Jr. day off.  Nice to get another day right after the holidays.  & it was even better to get it on this day because it was a snowy mess & I would have been terrified driving home in it.

44 / My hat OK
I remember Harvey Dent grabbing my knitting.  Well Ernie is following in his footsteps.  I had been working on this hat & sat it on the table next to my couch... only to hear Ricky yell the next morning, "He got your knitting"... I thought it was all tore up.  Luckily, it stayed on the needles & I was able to straighten out the yarn to finish the hat. Close call!!!!

46 / Neighbors = clean driveways
That snow on Monday, it was so nice to look out of our window late at night & see our neighbor on his tractor shoveling a path to get out for work the next day.

50 / Pizza lunch at work!!!
So the amazing things at work just dont stop.  They had a pizza lunch for everyone that was hired the last quarter of the year so people in the firm could come meet us.  It was nice because there was 3 of us in the Finance Department that got to go up to this & wear name badges & have our picture up on the big screen.  It was super fun though chatting with people & the pizza was yummy.  What a cool event to see all the people who were hired throughout the firm at the same time as you.

51 / Coworker & bible studies
So I am so blessed to be sitting next to an office of the coolest young lady... we get in some good talks about our faith & also about loving natural lifestyles & being dog moms ... well, she joined a book club for the year & she thought she ordered the actual books of these two studies.  I've already got the books - but dont have the bible studies. She was going to send these back to Amazon & I told her I'd buy them from her. She had gotten an amazing deal on these because like the back has a tear in it - nothing huge - like literally a tear.  She was happy to let me buy them from her to save the hassle of shipping them back & I'm excited to look into these for maybe future bible studies to do with my group.

53 / Dog diapers
These things have been amazing for us at night when we sleep.  They are saggy when we wake up so we know they are doing their job.

55 / Good vet visit

I am just so thankful for our vet who has gotten Bruno's skin back to normal... & took care of his poor ears... & is taking care of Ernie & watching him grow into the little punk he is.

56 / Freedom
So Ernie has learned to escape his little play area this week while we're at work... so Ive been watching him on the camera to prepare for what he destroys.  & actually, he did really good every time he got out. One time, he literally crawled out & just went on the couch & took a long nap. haha.  Mostly, he just likes to follow Harvey & do whatever he's doing.

57 / Easy Saturday
It was just wonderful sitting in the enclosed room & reading & watching the snow melt.  The dogs loved it too....One particular is jealous when Harvey gets the attention - can you tell?

63 / MSM present
One of my sweet MSM girls came up to me on Sunday & gave me these earrings. Isn't that so sweet & aren't they so pretty?  She said she was at the mall & saw them & said she immediately thought of me.  Ahhhh.... I just love my girls.

64 / Joysters Back!
SO glad to be back in our group & in a study. I love the structure for studying the Bible. I need that in my life.  I need my Joysters in my life too!

66 / Windows down!
Even if it was one day, I'll take it. It was in the low 60's for a day & it was wonderful driving with the windows down & feeling the fresh air. Talk about getting the Spring Fever already going. COME ON!!!! 55 more days!!!
