Help a Girl out.... let's talk Coffee orders!!

It is no secret how I love my coffee shops.

Perfect for little meet ups - perfect to sit & read or knit while waiting to go somewhere - I've even used coffee shops to sit & relax while the Hubs has had a debate with 3 different cell phone companies trying to find the best deal for us... all while I'm relaxed, drinking some yummy caffeine & waiting.

But the other day, the beautiful Alexandra told me about a drink she gets at Starbucks... an Apple Chai Tea... Hold up! - I think those were my exact words to her. HOLD UP! What is that?  She told me they put apple juice in with the chai tea & you can get it iced or hot.  Doesnt a hot one sound perfect for fall?

& the other day, it was really chilly & I was walking back from lunch with my hubby & wanted a warm drink.  So I tried something new.  A Cocoa Cloud Macchiato ... it wasn't bad!  Not at all.

But I've had some drinks that have been REALLLLY bad.  So I want to know what you drink at Starbucks - or any coffee shop.  What should I try?  What is your go-to that can never go wrong?

Bonus round - tell me what you drink because something I LOVE to do.... I keep a note in my phone on what people drink & if I know I'm going to see you, I love to buy drinks & surprise you with them. Seriously - coffee has become my love language.

So spill the beans.... aahhh - see what I did there?  Tell me what you love to settle in with.

  2. I'm no nonsense with my coffee so I have nothing to offer! Iced and black, like my soul. I do like the Caramel Apple Spice in the fall if I happen to stop in the evenings and it's past coffee time.

  3. Whoa, I've never heard of that Apple Chai either. I might have to get one this weekend!
I'm not a coffee drinker, but I love all forms of hot chocolate. Too bad it has so many calories though! Haha.

  4. I'm probably not an exciting person to ask. I don't like any sweet drinks. My favorite in the summer is just an iced coffee or the sweet cream cold foam cold brew. In the winter, I LOVE plain lattes and flat whites. See? So exciting ;) A few years ago I went to a coffee shop and they had "chaider" which is basically cider and chai. SO GOOD!

  5. That tea does sound yummy. I seldom go out for coffee. I use to love getting Starbucks Green Tea Frappuccino.

  6. I'm so boring! I drink my coffee BLACK! When I go to Starbucks sometimes I get wild and ask for a splash of steamed almond milk.

  7. Just coffee with a lot of heavy cream and nutmeg.. but at home, coffee with Coffee Mate powdered creamer. Never any sugar in anything.

  8. I do way too much creamer at home (ID Coldstone Sweet Cream) but I usually just a plain hot latte at Starbucks.

  9. I love the 5 love languages of coffee!! How cute!

I used to be a tea person, but I am becoming more and more a coffee gal these days. At home, I drink vanilla or hazelnut flavored coffee (buy in the bulk bin at the store), then add about 3 tbsp. of milk to it, maybe even 1/4 cup. (Yes, I like very light coffee). No sugar or sweetener.

At Starbucks or other coffee shops, I usually get a vanilla latte.

I love meeting friends for coffee or having them at my house, so if you ever make it to Boise, Idaho, we will do coffee together!!

  10. Oh keeping a coffee list is a great idea! I'm not a tea or coffee person - it's not cold enough here for me to want a hot drink most of the time, ha! But I do like the odd hot chocolate now and then :) Starbucks make a nice one!

Hope that your week is off to a great start :)

  11. I like the spicy cinnamon tea you get at Barnes & Noble's coffee shop (or I ordered it online and make it at home now) with French vanilla truvia sweetener. Sooooo good!

  14. My plan at one point was to open a coffee shop connected to a bookstore. Funds were lacking though and I don't know if I could handle being my own boss right now. When I was in high school, I used to go to downtown Indianapolis to a coffee shop/pub called Mugwumps - but that was before I drank coffee so we'd just get a drink called Hom, which I think is basically a "steamer" now. It was steamed milk and honey with a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. I make that regularly in the evenings during winters now.

Now I like pretty much any of the drinks (hot or iced) - caramel is a must though. My current Sbux fave is the caramel macchiato, which is a lighter version of my all-time fave (caramel breve).

  15. I just generally get a standard chai with almond milk. I had never heard of the apple option. I'm going to have to try it.

  16. I'm a purist haha I love a good flat white, though I've been known to order a caramel cloud macchiato for a special treat ;)

  17. I love this post and learning about different drinks. I am such a coffee dummy and don't know the difference between an iced coffee and an iced Latte. If you know please tell me.
Anyway, I generally just work my way through the frappuccino menu at Starbucks. I rarely get a hot beverage except every year my Christmas eve tradition was to take Baylee to Starbucks ( she would get treats next door at the pet shop) and I would get a Gingerbread chai tea! I dont know what I will do this year now without her. Do I take one of my mom's dogs or just skip a year and pick up with the tradition next year when I have a new dog? I would love to try that Apple Chai, sounds like a great one for fall!

  18. Something weird happened - that is the story of my life, the end - when I tried to submit my comment. Hmm, so forgive me if I am repeating myself.
As I was saying, I have never really gotten on the boutique coffee bandwagon. I drink my one cup at home and that does me. I like Starbucks and Dunkin coffees but if I am going to drink my calories, the drink needs to be alcoholic. Ha!
That being said, the apple Chai sounds like a winner. Through in a little Fireball cinnamon whiskey and we are cooking!

  19. You know me, I am alllll about the Sweet Cream at home. When I go out, my favorites are Cocounut Milk Mocha Machiatto (it has caramel syrup too), salted caramel (frapp or latte), caramel brulee latte (comes out for Christmas), butterscotch (latte or frap) (comes out in spring). At Dunkin, I always just get an iced caramel coffee with just cream. SO GOOD! When they have their coconut caramel in the summer..watch out girl!!! YUM! I also enjoy chai tea lattes from nearly every where. Never thought to get apple in it! Sounds delicious.
