**** / Really Liked It

Quick Summary:  Jessica joins a study that she thinks is going to be a quick way to earn money but then gets in a deeper experiment with Dr. Shields that turns into a true life mental game.

This one had me hanging onto each chapter. I loved the mental game of it all.  I enjoyed how it all played out -& in the end, I thought I was going to leave it satisfied ... & then the epilogue made ME go a little crazy :) All in the best way. It just showed I was totally into this story.  I had forgotten that I love a good little gripping, mystery, suspense read. I need to do more of those in my life.

& yeah, I know I'm late to the game on this one - but glad I got around to it.
I saw this was going to be turned into a series? Totally should. The whole time I was reading it, I envisioned it as a great show to watch!  I want to see it brought to life.

***** / It was Amazing

Quick Summary: A 47 year old mom of a kindergarten son gets roped into being Class Mom & her unusual approach to reaching out & connecting to other parents is nothing but entertaining.

Honestly - I snort laughed throughout this book - many times!!!  & I picked it up not sure I would even care about this book, but saw lots of people reading the follow up book that just recently came out.

I mean, how interesting can a mom who in charge of parent organization for a year be? VERY!  I love Jen Dixon so much & her attitude & personality. & that she had a child with the lead singer of INXS, Michael Hutchence - just YES!  Adds to the character of Jen.  Plus, with her having a little bit of a mid-life crissi at 47/48, I really felt like Jen Dixon & I could be the same person.

This is such a fast read & I just lived for each email she had to send out to the parents.  Just sit back & enjoy the laughter.

Luckily, I have the 2nd book from the library & was able to go directly into the next one. I'm not letting go of Jen Dixon just yet.

“I think about how I look just a little less attractive every day. I think that when I’m sixty, Max will just be finishing high school. I wonder if I should have had a career instead of a bunch of jobs. I wonder why you love me and when you might stop. I worry that I’m not a good enough wife, daughter, mother, and friend. And I worry that if this is it, this is my whole life, will it be enough?”

**** / Really Liked It

Quick Summary:  We follow along as Jen Dixon is class mom once again of her son's 4th grade class & also gets added onto being in charge of Safety Patrol.

Still the same awesome & hilarious Jen Dixon. We get to see all her kids growing up & new things happening for the whole family.  This one still had moments of true belly laughs & I just love The Dixon family & all the others class mom's too.  Loved hanging onto them after the first book.

I will say, I dont know if its because I read them back to back where it may have felt like "too much" - but this one & the story line just didnt have me as invested I guess? The partner that Ron is dealing with & the weird turn that took... mmm... Okay then.  Just some weird twists in this one.

But it still held the same personality as the first book, which totally still has me rating it high & loving it.

Hope to still see another Class Mom series book down the road. I dont think I'll ever tire of Jen Dixon!

“My doctor told me to start eating from a bread plate instead of a dinner plate to manage my portions, and to stop drinking wine. He’s no longer my doctor.”

  1. I have anonymous girl on my TBR list but was thinking of letting it go (it's been on my list forever) so now I think I'll move it up in the queue.

  7. I loved The Wife Between Us but haven't read any of their others books. Definitely need to read An Anonymous Girl and I love, love, love a good epilogue. Class Mom sounds really good too. It's not my typical read but I love that it was a laugh out loud read for you. I could use more of those. Adding it to my TBR.

  8. I can't wait to read You've been Volunteered since I loved Class Mom. I think its very hard to top a great debut novel, but I'm sure it will be funny and entertaining. I also love Anon Girl.

  9. The Anonymous Girl has been on my TBR list for a while. I read the sample and really liked it, but the book was still expensive to buy on my Kindle, then I heard mixed reviews, so I wasn't sure if it was worth it. Glad you enjoyed it!

  10. I am getting ready to read "Pillars of the Earth" or the third time. I'm tired of silly love stories and mysteries that aren't very mysterious. Thanks for your reviews!!

  11. That last quote made me LOL. I feel like I should want to read those books but I also feel like I'll hate her for some reason. I don't know why.

  12. I liked The Wife Between Us way better than Anonymous Girl so read that if you haven't yet. Also, I was so impressed that the Class Mom sequel was as funny as the first one but I read them a year and a half apart so that may have helped :)

  14. I've been "pending" on my library account for "you've been volunteered" for a month now. Annoying.
The Wife Between Us was way better than Anonymous Girl but AG was good enough to keep me reading and putting off other responsibilities.

  15. Ugh - dumb computer signed me out. I think my comment disappeared. There are a couple of books I've read that were supposed to be made into movies but haven't seen them or even previews yet. Not sure how that happens. Will be interesting to see if An Anonymous Girl does become a series. Haven't read it but sounds like a good read. And the Gelman books are everywhere. Haven't read them either. Guess I need to get with the program!
