I'm pretty sure hospitals are not going to say, "Guess what? Since more people are now seeing family doctors instead of running to the ER for everything, we're going to be able to lower our rates!"

That said, if there's a perfect system, I don't think it exists.Mrs4444https://www.blogger.com/profile/06426176094895489541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36253142.post-29699802893855569072012-06-29T09:18:46.203-04:002012-06-29T09:18:46.203-04:00No flack here, even though I'm not a supporter...No flack here, even though I'm not a supporter of the healthcare reform law. Her family had to file bankruptcy & she would skip her annual exams because she couldn't afford them. Under "Obamacare" she now has coverage. It's not free, but it's better than not having anything at all. It could potentially save her life if she has a recurrence.

Here's a link to an article where she was interviewed today - she's Bev Veals: http://hosted2.ap.org/OREUG/Article/Article_2012-06-28/id-38eb3ce3660c434f9c026e7b21a94fc8/recordType-Spot%20Development

Of course, I'm a Democrat & an Obamaniac - so I'm biased anyway :)The Bughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07509037206264761261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36253142.post-14476201085808499732012-06-28T16:07:38.269-04:002012-06-28T16:07:38.269-04:00I agree with you RJ....100%.I agree with you RJ....100%.Kelley with Amy's Angelshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11815426069055211963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36253142.post-58757472063304644492012-06-28T15:07:19.932-04:002012-06-28T15:07:19.932-04:00Think the biggest issue here, for me anyway, is th...Think the biggest issue here, for me anyway, is the MANDATORY part.... you see, you want insurance... but what about those who don't, because they can't afford it? My sister is home...Personal stories are important.

My sister is homeless, as in we don't know where she is, and her daughter (age 19) is living with us.

I have great insurance, therefore so does my husband and my son (until 8/11 when he turns 26--hopefully he'll have a job by then.) My niece has no health insurance.

Last night she said she thought she was getting sick. A sore throat. That caused me concern. She has no insurance, no doctor. A visit to my doctor could cost her over $200. Two. hundred. dollars.

I wish I could adopt her, but she's an adult.

Let's hope she feels better today...

You were spot on when you said we already pay for people who have no insurance.

Write whatever you want, especially since you've lived it. (And why the heck did your employer stop providing insurance?)Ellen aka Elliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17892924619560880572noreply@blogger.com
