Hodgepodge Time...
1. It's been said that one small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day? Do you think that's true? Do you find that an easy exercise most mornings? What's something positive you told yourself this morning? If you missed that boat, what's something positive you could tell yourself tomorrow?
I think it can make a difference. Sadly, most mornings, when I look in a mirror, I don't see anything positive. especially the older I get...
This needs to be something I need to work on...
I'm usually just thinking, "Let's make it through the day" ... is that positive enough?
Even dogs do this better then me |
2. There will be karaoke at the next party you attend...are you in? Or will you be faking a sore throat?
I'm totally there...
Who cares I can't sing...
I'll just sing with emotion :) |
3. January 29th is National Puzzle Day...what's something you've found puzzling lately?
How I continue to work out at least 5 days a week... & keep gaining weight...
Its some sort of cruel joke my body does to me... right?
4. Jigsaw, crossword, acrostic, logic, sudoku, word search...what's your favorite, and when did you last work one?
I love mind games... I have done them all - except acrostic, which I had to google because I didn't even know what it was. So much for MIND games that are supposed to make your mind better.
I literally do all the others like once a week.
I should be a genius.
I'm like Kanye when I work puzzles |
5. Recently a writer by the name of Amy Glass ruffled feathers with a post she wrote saying she looks down on young women with husbands and kids and she's not sorry. Among other things she says women will be equal with men when we stop saying housework and real work are equally important. You can read the whole piece by clicking here....... What say you? Do you think men and women are equal in the 21st century? Why or why not?
This is a topic I think people could write on for hours...
I'll just say, I work in a very, VERY male dominated office... & again, I'm taking the old idea, "if you can't say anything good, don't say it at all" route...
6. What's a product you've noticed in the grocery store that you'd like to try, but haven't yet?
I want to try these new Starbucks Via Latte's...
I've heard mixed reviews...
7. The author, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (aka Lewis Carroll) was born this week back in 1832 (January 27th). Which character from his celebrated novel, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, would you most like to meet, and why? Here's a link to the character list if you need help on this one.
Fun fact - my mom always loved Alice in Wonderland, so growing up, with my blond hair, I had many dresses that were very "Alice" like...
I would hang out with the Mad Hatter... the Johnny Depp version of course...
I can relate with being a little 'mad' in the head sometimes |
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Have you ever heard of Pentatonix? They were on "The Sing Off" one year & I have friends at church that keep up with them & totally love them....
They turned me back onto their amazing talents. They do everything by voice only...
Check out the Wizard of Oz version they did... taking different songs & making them all come together to tell the story... incredible!
I'm so with you on #3
ReplyDeleteI watched that season of the Sing Off because my daughter knew someone's brother on the college team that competed. I will say they were very talented.
ReplyDeleteAhh, #3...this came up with the bootcamp trainer and he smiles and tells me if I'm working out like I should, but not losing weight, I'm probably consuming too many calories. Hmmm...I will say I need to back away from the Valentine candy hearts : )
ReplyDeleteLoved the video! Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI did see Penatonix on The Sing Off. They are so talented! I think singing is hard let alone replacing all the musical instruments with your mouth!
ReplyDeleteThat's about the coolest video I've seen in a good long while! Ahh...to be that talented! Girl...we could rock out in a round of karoake! What fun that would be! Electric guitars and the whole 9 yards! :)
ReplyDeleteOh friend, your first answer made me sad. You are beautiful...a child of God...who offers so much to those around you. That's enough to make ANYONE smile!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Auburnchick. Cool video!
ReplyDeleteNot being able to sing is the best part about karaoke! People who take it seriously are WEIRD! haha
ReplyDeleteMy darling girl,
ReplyDeleteYou are so beautiful inside and out!! I know this self talk business is for real. I have beat myself to a bloody pulp with all the hatin' talk I do to myself, but I am really working to change that and see myself how God sees me. Humbles me every.time.
Ok so let's chat about karaoke, Amanda, the above me comment, hit the nail on the head. You see I have sang for years, like YEARS. So I'm suppose to be able to sing right? People have this expectation of me. But in karaoke I always think it is just for fun, so don't take it seriously like Amanda said (great comment btw) but then I think people are looking at me to "perform". So generally speaking, karaoke makes me break out in hives. Yes I am a hot mess.
That video. GIRLFRIEND!! I'm going to have Chase watch this. He loved Penatonix (we all did), but he shows me their videos etc. and I haven't seen this one. WOW!!! From a singing standpoint, UNREAL. From a musical stand point, GENIUS!!
And yes, this completes volume 47 of my comments. I right books in comments. Its a gift.
Love you ~~ dawn
