Thankful Thursday {Link up #33}

Thankful Thursday
Today is another day to be grateful about something in your life.  We must remember that words have power & you have the ability to speak positive things into existence.
~George Jones

This week I am Thankful For:

... getting to worship with thousands of other women this weekend.  There's just something so special about standing in a room where everyone is just singing praises to our God.

... hanging out with girlfriends & just taking a breather to laugh.

... getting to see Lucy Swindoll & all the 'original' ladies of Women of Faith one last time.

... So glad that the Women of Faith conference was held right in our own town.  It was nice to sleep in my own bed & see my husband on Friday night.

... that in the middle of thousands of people, I can spot my friend across the room by the way she is clapping.  It's the little things you know about people that makes them unique to you.

... that we didn't get murdered in the shadiest White Castle in town.  Seriously. It has a reputation.  We laughed that we were a group of hungry women.  People know to stay away from that :)

... the smell of rain showers.

... in the middle of awkwardness & heart breaking moments in church, this little face can instantly bring a smile to many faces.  The power of sweet innocence.

... I got to see my sweet friend Erica, who was visiting from Colorado & her beautiful daughter Emily. (Still bummed I missed seeing their husband/daddy Joe... sad face)   I remember waiting outside the door of the delivery room when her daddy carried Emily out in his arms.  She's still just as beautiful... & has eye lashes that I would pay good money for.  Wish I could have spent all day with them but glad to see them for just a bit.

... got my car vacuumed out.  & saying that, I have black carpet which means that its time to vacuum it again.  Its a constant battle.

... so happy to support one of the most awesome ladies that I have learned to love through Blog land.   Paige is over at Reasons to Come Home if you want to check her out... & be sure to look for her posts on her last mission trip. The pictures are beautiful & you'll fall in love with those kid's sweet faces.  I cant wait to hear about the trip her & her husband will be taking again!

... for the precious words & encouragement so many of you have sent about the issues Ricky & I are praying about with our church.   I even had a few of my youth girls that I have seen grown up reach out to me & mercy - talk about tugs at the heart strings.  That they are grown up, real ladies, & they reach out to me telling me they are praying for things... what a thing to see that the people that you pray over turns into the people praying over you.  The student becomes the teacher kinda thing :)

What are you thankful for this week?

  2. Nothing better than great girl time - especially when you can sleep in your own bed that night!! :) It rained here all last night and I loooved it. We've been in a bit of a drought this summer and I've missed the thunderstorms that usually come along with this time of year!

  3. Hang in there girl! God will see you through. He doesn't always keep us from the problems, but He always, always, always goes through them with us!!! A friend and I were just talking about this last night. Just keep leaning on Jesus!
