Thankful Thursday #2

"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy;
they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom"
~Marcel Proust

First of all, I have to say that I'm THANKFUL that others joined in with me last week, & that a few of you said you're going to join in the future.  I would love to see this link grow & grow... all thanks to gratitude.  A thankful heart is always something beautiful.

So let's look at this week...

Thankful 01.15.15

ONE // Knitting for everyone
I am thankful for this scarf.  It gets battled over.  I made this for Ricky one year to match a hat his daughter knitted for him about 10 years ago. It is the WARMEST scarf - which is why I wear it... & the hubs gets mad at me because MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE... I say we all share in good knitting... especially on zero degree days.

TWO // Games
Nothing like a good game to get people involved.  We started with just me, Ricky & the young guy covering his eyes (I could barely watch myself)... & then before I knew it, all the kids were circles waiting to see who would be the one to knock it down.  For the record - not me.  Games are always my favorite.

THREE // Audiobooks
I stopped at the library last Friday to see if they had any audiobooks I can use. I like free.  Then I found these little things call Playaway where the book is on a little 'walkman' sort of thing. I love it. I have put it in my pocket all week at work & walked around listening.... I am now hooked.

FOUR // Sweet faces in meetings
We had a church meeting one night & when you look over & see these sweet eyes looking at you, how can you not be thankful for that?  This is one loved little girl.

FIVE // Cozy Day... especially after a game
I am always thankful for a calm day where I don't have to put on makeup & its just relaxing & comfy.  Ricky & Harvey didn't rest until after the UK game was over... & thank goodness they won... it probably wouldn't have been a cozy day otherwise.

SIX // Hospitals
As much as I was in shock at seeing patients literally lined in the hallways of the ER - & literally watching an older lady pass away right in the middle of the chaos (I'm not even joking) - I am thankful for the help they can give.  Mom was in the hospital this week & she was surrounded by really kind nurses that gave her wonderful attention.  I told mom that while she was laying in the hallway, I guess we still need to be thankful - there are people laying on dirt floors across the world that aren't getting any assistance for health.

SEVEN // Goodbye Christmas... kinda...
I'm glad my Christmas decorations are all down... if only we can get the tree down ...

EIGHT // Soft yarn
I made another drop stitch scarf, but this time, I used some super soft yarn.  I love this one.  Love the neutral colors as well. I can wear this baby with anything.

What are you thankful for this week?

Feel free to share the word & link up with me...

  6. I tried knitting a few times and never finished anything but I have a scarf a friend of mine made for me and I love it. Too hot to wear down here but it's the one I take with me when I travel somewhere cold! I'm loving audio books. I'll have to see if my library has that because the cds I just can't do.
