The weekend I had reasons for bad dreams....

Our first Fall weekend!!

Did you all enjoy it?
At our house - we were sweating like it was Mid-July! MY GOODNESS... it was in the high 90's all weekend... & all this week.

WHERE IS FALL???????????

It's still the weekend & horrible weather & awful temps but all of taht does NOT falter the joy of being off work.  Not for a second.

Friday, I stopped at the library to drop off some books & grab some more I had on hold, only to find out the library was closing just 20 minutes after I got there. WHAT? They must have changed the hours for Friday & Saturday.  They now close at 5:30.  Good to know!  At least they're open, right?

Then I ran to Starbucks to pick up some gift cards & of course, had to grab some drinks... & then headed over to pick up groceries at the Click List waiting area.  So glad I had a new book & a yummy drink. Take your time Click List employees.... & indeed, they did.  That place is always busy on Friday afternoon. We all have the same idea of getting groceries done for the weekend right after work.

The rest of my Friday night was all about watching the show on ABC about Seigfried & Roy ... man, that whole story of Roy being attacked - or "protected" if you hear from Roy - is just nuts.  The sweet sounds of tigers attacking lulled me to sleep Friday night.

Saturday, I got up with intentions to clean my house, work out & laundry & decorate for fall....

nope.

I got totally distracted. 

I ended up pulling up American Horror Story.  My work-sister told me that I should give it a try & I've always wanted to watch it but could never remember when it was on & then just felt like I missed out.  Thank you Netflix for being on top of it though.  So I turned on Season 1 - episode 1....

my day was gone.

Man, I could NOT stop watching. 

I will say, I did get my bedroom spic & span because I'd keep getting up with intentions to clean & then didnt want to leave my room so I cleaned & cleaned & cleaned that one room.

& before I knew  it, it was so late.  & I had watched the entire season!!!

This is me... I am really anxious now what lies ahead

To be fair, I did stop long enough to take care of horses...

Someone's getting their thick winter hair in!!!!

& to get a shower in & to eat dinner.
No - scratch that - I took dinner back into the bedroom so I could watch another episode.

Man - that was so good.  Now I'm excited to dig into the other Seasons. These are perfect for leading up to Halloween.

& you think going to sleep with attacking tigers the night before can be bad for dreams?  Try going to sleep after watching 10 hours of a story on a Murder House! YIKES.

Sunday, I got up to meet up with my blog/running buddy Karen who picked me up a mug from Bahamas (talking more about this on Thankful Thursday).... but it was National Coffee Day so I had to celebrate in style.  I got to Starbucks a little earlier so I could dig into my Bible Study & enjoy my coffee in the store itself - surrounded by so many others. It was packed. I actually had to sit outside - which I never mind.  Give me all the fresh air - even if its hot July air ... in September.

It was pretty funny too because I was sitting out digging into my work & then heard a conversation behind me... it was a photographer talking to a couple about their wedding.  OK - most people, this wouldnt intrigue them at all.  This was giving me all the emotions.  When she was talking about their wedding day & what she offered, in my mind, I was like, "that's nice - that's good"... but then I also was like, "I could do that - I would be a better photographer for them" - haha!!... It made me miss it so much....

Until she started talking about how busy she is going into Fall & that she had to actually schedule her FAMILY in because she had no time to even see them.  I instantly was snapped back & remembered how stressful photography can be & how time consuming it is & then I was like, "Yeah, I'm kinda glad I've walked away from that"...

I'm telling you - all the emotions. 
Luckily, my friends conversation was a great distraction to get away from all that.

HSM time ... where we were down in numbers because the kids around here are already off of school for 2 weeks for Fall Break.  Cue me stomping my feet & throwing a tantrum because I too want a fall break!!... & then ironically, as I'm wanting to throw that tantrum, our message was on "Maturity" - let that one sit for a second.

I ran to Michael's after church & was so excited to get some little clothes pins for a photo line I have draped across my little cubicle desk at work.  Trying to bring some life to the area.  Just ordered some new pictures to hang on it too.  Want to be surrounded by people I love.

Got home & did the stuff on Sunday that I would have done on Saturday (Dang you American Horror Story!).  Got that laundry done - cleaned some - & even FINALLY got my fall decorations up.

Still gotta do my front porch, but I refuse to decorate my porch when I'm sweating like a sauna for Fall.  Just cant do it.  Hoping next week, it'll inspire me for outside fall decorating!

I took Bruno over for my mom to love on him for awhile & to give him his favorite thing - time to just be rocked.  I dont know who loves it more - him or my momma.

Then its time to set the alarm for another week ahead.
It's gonna be a busy one... 3 - count 'em - THREE birthdays this week... & a concert!  To say this week is going to be a busy one is an understatement.

Where's my cha cha pants? {Thankful Thursday #239}

This week I am Thankful for:

Ernie didnt freak out about the car
So ever since we got Ernie, he's not been a fan of car rides.  From throwing up on every trip & having to be drug to the door & lifted in - its a little bit of a struggle to take him bye bye. Which those words alone for the otther dogs used to bring pure bliss.  For Ernie, he'd run & act like we were pulling his toe nails out.  But now, he knows on Monday's - he gets to go to the agility class & play play play. Every Monday, he's been getting to the car a little bit closer.  Still a lift to get in though.  But this past week - HE DID IT - he jumped in on his own!!!! Ricky & I were like, THIS right here has been worth any amount of agility training!!!

Dancing with the Stars is back!
OK - I know some people are like, Really? This is on your list? ... YEP!

This is the same move I'm doing to say YEP! 

I love this show so much!!! Even when it makes me mad & I think the vote off is ridiculous & the judges give someone a low score & then someone who can barely walk gets a higher score. I'm still here for every fringe, sparkle, cha cha moment!  If you need me Monday nights, you'll know where I'm at.

New D.O.
Since we moved to Indiana, I've had the biggest struggle of finding a family doctor.   Most of you know I'm not a huge fan of doctors anyways but when I found that I can get in with a DO instead of a MD .... For those who are wondering - a DO is an osteopathic physician... here's the difference....

What is a D.O. doctor?

According to the American Osteopathic Association, doctors of osteopathic medicine regard the body as an integrated whole, rather than treating for specific symptoms only

So I had one woman doctor I really liked & she left... only to have another woman doctor fill her place - I liked her even more.  & then she left 2 years ago. SIGH. WHYYY???? ... but I need to get in with a new family doctor again & get established. So I called my doctor's office to see who is there now & guess what - they have a new D.O. that just started - literally 4 days on the job when I saws her - another woman too. I was so happy! She's just fantastic too! So personable - we laughed together & she really listened & asked questions & got to know me. I told her she's not allowed to leave me now.  I'm sure she'll take that in consideration.

Youth Pastor
You are probably sick of hearing me say it - but our Youth Pastor at our church Campus - he is honestly one of the best Pastors I've ever heard preach.  In Youth or in "big church" - he can give a message that is moving & powerful but so relevant.  He is just gifted at what he does.  So I was super thankful when he showed up to our HSM group & took over after some of our kids were having a particular hard week. When I walked in the door & saw him there, I just ran up  & hugged him & thanked God for him & his hard work he does for all the kids in that ministry!  Thankful for ALL the people on staff in our Youth department!!! I'll never be able to say enough good about them.

Car purchase
Everything went so smoothly.  We had a really helpful car salesman (did you know there was such a thing?) & he worked really hard for us finding the perfect car at the price I wanted.  When the time came to sign on the dotted line, he made that super easy too. The whole process was super easy & probably one of the best experiences I've ever had buying a car.

Ricky with Bruno
I've said it before - many times - taking care of Bruno is hard work.  A lot of time dedicated to watching him & getting him through each day.  I love Ricky is up to the challenge & has the heart of loving animals like I do.  I know he gets frustrated & it gets overwhelming at times... & then i see this - him coming out & sitting in Bruno's pen to help him walk for 30 minutes.  That's love y'all

Tests super fast
Where I had to go to the hospital for my tests, I was so super happy that I was & out in a half hour. A HALF HOUR. In a hospital!  I registered with no wait, walked to the lab & bam, needle in - NEXT.  Headed to X-ray where they apologized that I may have to wait 10 minute - which I probably didnt even wait 5.  & that was it - in & out. The prime spot for any test results - Friday at 5pm - who knew?  I guess no one else wants to start off their weekend with that sort of thing.

Long time friends who understand you
It really is important for people to know who you are & that knows your character in life.  I really valued & appreciated a conversation I had with a friend this week where we were able to clear up some misunderstandings & how we both know each other's hearts so well, it just made the conversation ease & fill with laughter & grace & then more laughter.  I love Christian sisters who I truly feel & see the love of Jesus in them.

What I'm Working On
I was trying out the new Beachbody workout - Morning Meltdown 100
... it wasn't for me.
I thought it would be because it had music!! (YAY! - for some reason Beachbody has a hate for music lately) & they have TWO modifiers - which I really like & appreciate.
But ugh - the moves are the same each week it seems. & they are overkill.
Like, let's do one move - 75 times. It just feels weird to me.
I also dont care that it doesnt do abs except for one day a week.
... so I'm back to doing the LIIFT 4 program.



Which actually works for me right now because its a 4 day a week work out plan so I can slide in a day or two of walking.

A little freaky - but man, I'm looking forward to it.


I think we learn a lot about seeing how villains are made.
Probably some powerful life lessons in these things.

What I'm Wearing
So I've been trying out Stitch Fix lately
... & having some really good luck with it.
I'm not super thrilled with the prices - but I know everyone tells me to request for cheaper items.  I mean, I love these $90.00 jeans they send, but I aint paying $90.00 for a pair of jeans.
I have a car payment (HAHA- I had to)
OOOKKKK - so I did buy one of their pairs for $85.00 - but just because I bought the whole box & got the extra 25% discount.

I also got a shirt from there that is my all time favorite shirt!
It fits me just perfectly in length! I need a longer torso shirt.
They find some cute styles & brands I've never heard of before!

What I'm doing this Weekend

Melting!
It's supposed to be in the mid 90's this weekend - so not cool.
Literally.
No big plans though - the usual:  Cleaning, laundry, church, horses

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month
VACATION!!!!!
October is so super busy for us - lots to celebrate
but the end of October, we get to take our week long time off during our anniversary.
Last year was our first time since being married that we werent able to do it since all my vacation time was eaten up with surgeries (sooo not a vacation!)
At least our anniversary was on a Sunday so it worked out OK for that side of it.
This year? We're back to taking that week off.
