Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Happy Friday... week 3 & I am officially NOT SICK... kinda.. maybe... At least I feel more like myself.  Which means my ears & sinuses are still a tad jacked up... but that's "normal" for me... how sad is that?
Let's move on... time to frag...

*****

Speaking of sick, I keep hearing of everyone around me having the stomach flu.  That freaks me out.  My co-worker has been out of the office for the past 2 days because she has it.  & I keep hearing of everyone struggling with it, or their child struggling with it.   When I even HEAR about it, I feel nauseated... I'm that weak... Please Lord, let Spring come....

*****

Speaking of Spring coming... it really may be happening around here.  Its going to be in the 50's all next week!!!!  Do you have any idea how excited that makes me?  Goodbye treadmill... hello pavement!!!!  I want to open my windows even to get some FRESH air in... Nothing is better then fresh air flowing through a house...

*****

Want to see what makes Ricky's heart ache?  Julie posted this picture of Isaac playing with Super Heroes... & Ricky is just so far away, he cant play with him...I should take a picture of Ricky playing with his super hero dolls & send it to Isaac

*****

SPAT OF THE WEEK:  DEAD SNAKES!!!!!!!... seriously!!!! .....  I get woke up Saturday morning with the statement, "Want to see the dead snake I found"...wh-wh-what?????  He is holding it in his hands... right.by.my.head!!!!  Talk about a quick wake up... I literally jumped up, on the other side of the bed.  "What are you talking about?" - since I just woke up, I thought this could be a dream or a figment of my imagination.  Nope.  Ricky was standing there with a dead snake in his hands that he found IN OUR BASEMENT!!! (Joys of living away from the city)  "Come on, its just a baby"... to which my response is, "If its a baby, there's a MOMMA"... or one of the dogs carried it in from outside... either way, I'm freaking out.  Snakes do me in... the only animal I cant handle.  Even dead.... So Ricky got mad at me because I didnt want to see the dead baby snake in his hands.....& then he throws it in the garbage can in the kitchen where I later "stumble" upon it... Hello Ricky, I'm your wife of 15 years... I hate snakes... thank you...

*****

My dad sent me a message the other day that I should put peanuts in the bottom of a coke - that it was delicious.  Can I tell you, I gagged... why would you want something crunchy & hard (other then ice) in your drink.  Do you EAT the peanuts?  Do you leave them in the bottom as a surprise when the coke is gone?  I dont get it... come to find out, lots of people have tried it... & like it... this world is a messed up place...

(Can I tell you how much this picture makes me want to vomit?)

******

Anyone watching "The Bachlor"?  Anyone else think Chantal has the worst dresses ever?  Where does she get all these dresses that fit her horribly?  Come on Chris Harrison... give that girl the date where she gets a shopping trip.  Anyone else also rooting for Michelle to go home?  I'm not even joking.... I know a girl JUST like her... her mannerisms, the way she speaks - she'll even do the fake "Elbow slam" when talking about other girls... its really bizarre... so yes, there are women out there just like her...

*****
Laugh of the week:  This picture cracked me up... it has posted along with it, "I FOUND HIM" ...
Do the things that make me laugh every week disturb you?  I do love to laugh...

Hope you all have a great Friday & that Spring is knocking on your door...

Flossing?

You all know I have my dental problems... Goodness gracious, have I had my dental problms.

I'm even afraid of writing those words, because I talked about germs & ended up with a sinus infection from the Sinus-Demons & now, I've mentioned teeth stuff?  Please Lord, keep the Teeth-Demons away from me now...

But a few weeks ago, we were talking about "prayer" with the youth kiddos...

I had asked how frequently they pray & you know, they are just like a lot of us are... praying on the go, praying quickly, praying as you drift to sleep to get those last "I still love ya God... good night" prayers in.

Then one of the kiddos - who has the most amazing mind & way of looking at things said this about our talk on prayer:

"Its like when you go to the dentist & they tell you to floss.  You go home & you do it after every meal - you always remember.  But time goes on & then you do it less & less.  You only do it a lot when something goes wrong & you're back at the dentist office"

Can I say.... WOWWWWWW?

How insightful is that?

(See why I love talking with that youth gang?  I always say, they teach me WAY more then I teach them)

I catch myself doing that as well.  I mean, I pray every day... but those "deep" prayers?  Those ones that you can feel Jesus sitting across the table from you, like he's got a note pad writing down what you're saying because He's THAT interested?  Yeah, I seem to do those when things are the worst... & then things go on & life gets decent again & its like, "OK, I can just lift up the prayer requests & go through routine & its still prayer, I'm good" ... then lift hits again & its those heavy prayers again.... remembering to floss....

Just like we're supposed to floss every day, God wants those deep, heavy conversations with us every day.

Maybe I need to work my prayer time in with my nightly dental routine... there's an idea! ;)

...How about you?  You remembering to floss?....

Its a Hodgepodge

I had so much fun last week, I'm doing it again... I also just like the word "Hodgepodge"...

Want to join in?  Click the button above & meet lots of personalities answering the same questions - many different answers... what makes it so fun...

1. What is more important to you-doing what you love or loving what you do?

isnt it the same thing?  If I hate what I do, then I'm not going to love it... I'm confused...Is this a mental question that tells a lot about who you are deep in the core?  ...If so, I fail....

2. Do you like bleu cheese?

mmmmm.... this is the only food that is "blue" that I do like.  Blue popsicles?  Nope... Blueberries?  Not really.... Blue jello?  Gagging.... I dont think there are many cheeses out there I dont like.

3. What is the most difficult emotion for you to handle?

Anxiousness.  Is that an emotion?  Must be, because when I feel it, it makes me emotional.  Makes me want to vomit actually...I HATE being anxious.  (Yes Lord, I know... dont be anxious for anything...)

4.  Fresh flowers or chocolate?
How about chocolate flowers?  That'd be nice!!!

5. What's a song you love that has the word 'love' in the title? It doesn't have to be a 'love song'.

I honestly went through my iPod & man... lots of songs with "LOVE" - from Broadway "Seasons of Love" from Rent... to Disney, "I wont say I'm in love"... from, of course, my own love, Steven Curtis Chapman, "Love & Learn" ... to the Diva, Whitney Houston, "I will always love you"... but I think my pick ... is... (drum roll)..... TESTIFY TO LOVE by Avalon...

I adore this song... it always makes me happy...
(With every breath I take, I will give thanks to God above!!!)

6. Are you the person you wanted to be when you grew up?

No....

7. Any special Valentine's Day plans?

Isnt Valentine's Day on a Monday?  Then the answer is no... I will be running 6 miles, so I guess that's the best thing for a heart on Valentine's Day :)

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I need a new iPod... my 8MB one is full... 2 days worth of music... I need more.  I keep looking at the 32MB ones.  You never know when you need music to play non stop for a week & you dont want to hear the same song... these things could happen in life...
.....
Happy Hodgepodge to everyone... cant wait to see  your choice for love songs!!!  I'll be singing all day

Ruined? Really?

Let me preface this by saying, I'm NOT a huge Christina Aguilera fan...

"Genie in a Bottle" always got on my nerves...

But I do get my RUN on with the song "Fighter" ...

Either way, I can take her or leave her.

But COME ON... I heard on the radio this morning that the polls said that Christina Aguilera RUINED the National Anthem.

It was all over the news & every entertainment program last night too.  The four word... yes people, it was 4 WORDS!!!!... she messed up... apparently RUINED the whole thing.

I said yesterday that I didnt even notice it.  I saw in my comments yesterday that a lot of you didnt notice it either.  I would almost think more people DIDNT notice it that did!

But now, Ms. Aguilera is getting so slammed down.  I feel bad for her...

She even had to issue a statement:

"I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through"

Does anyone remember Roseanne Barr?  Now there's someone who should be the face of "Ruining" the National Anthem....

I know when you put yourself out in the public eye, you are putting yourself out for criticism & judgement... but man, people are harsh, arent they?

Grace?  What's that?  Someone to step up & say, "You know what?  She messed up - but she carried on.  Life didnt stop... no one died... its OK' ... but instead, today, I have a feeling people will still be pushing down the lady because of a 4 word mistake...

whew... all I kept thinking this morning is how grateful I am that people dont judge me in the end... & that I dont have to issue a "statement" for every screw up I did.... that'd be a long statement...

My Super Bowl thoughts... dont expect any football though

I watched the Super Bowl....I know nothing about football...

But its a American Tradition, right?  Something you HAVE to do?  Nah - I guess you dont have too.  And if Glee wasnt coming on afterwards, I probably wouldnt have watched anything, but I didnt want to miss any part of Glee... even thought it came on at 10:40... (I'm tired.... yawn....)

Ricky went to pick up a pizza for us since delivery would take like 5 hours... he got there & he said the line was COMING OUT THE DOOR!!!!!  He ended up standing in line to pay & pick it up for 45 minutes.  I heard that Papa John's alone sold 1 million pizzas Nation Wide... those $10.00 pizzas x's 1 million = Super Bowl being Mr. Papa's favorite day ever!!!

Sam Elliott kicked off the show.  First of all, if he was on every football game, I'd probably watch more.  I LOVVVEEEEEE Sam Elliott.  Always have.  His voice just screams, "I'm a man & I'll kick butt"

I didnt think Lea Michelle did all that fantastic.   I will give props though for that cute little white coat she had on though.

Is it bad I didnt even notice Christina Aguilera messed up the words to the National Anthem?  And why does she have to carry out every note 10 seconds longer then it should be?  I do think her voice kinda schooled Lea Michelle though.

Half Time Show... The comments on Twitter were cracking me up!!!  People either loved it or hated it.  I thought they did a good show, but Fergie's voice live was just weird, wasnt it?  I kept reading from people there that she sounded much better then what came over the TV due to sound issues.  Not sure how accurate that is...

"Half Time Show presented by the cast of TRON"

Slash kills it wherever he goes.... but why did Fergie think she could pull off Axl Rose...yikes

When Usher came out, I was so scared Justin Bieber wasnt too far behind... Usher was probably like, "Little Dude, this is MY spotlight - stay away from the Bowl"

Hugh Jackman was at the Superbowl.... (insert teenage scream)

The Darth Vader commercial is awesome...

Ricky's favorite commercial was the Beaver cutting down the tree to save the man's life.  I missed that one & then Ricky said, "Did you see the one with the Beaver?" ... I thought he was talking about Jerry Mathers!  No joke...

Some team won... can you tell in my thoughts, there are none about football?  Yeah - that's how I feel about football.

I will say, the guy that they were interviewing afterwards, (so he must have been important on the team???) I loved that he just kept saying "To God be the Glory"... I dont know who he is, but he's my favorite player :)

I always feel so bad for the losing team in big games like the Super Bowl or the NCAA Basketball tournament.  You can see the loss on their face... I hate it...

The After-show or whatever its called was just on my nerves.  I kept screaming, "SHUT UP TERRY BRADSHAW - I WANT GLEE"... I'm impressed with myself that I know who Terry Bradshaw is though!  (please let that be Terry Bradshaw & I just didnt make a fool of myself)

Did you watch the Super Bowl?  Did you actually watch for the commercials or for the game?  What was your favorite commerical?  Did you stay up to watch GLEE?  ... yawn...

Project 365... 2011: Week 6

Want to join along?  Visit Sara's blog & join right in if you click HERE

Sunday - Jan 30 - ROCK OF AGES!!!! ... Yep - this is how close we were to the stage!  See those steps?  Yep, the one that Constantine sat on to sing a Rock Ballad. (...swoon...) & also the steps that the "stripper" came down to embarass the heck out of Ricky

And speaking of Ricky, doesnt he fit right in with his leather jacket & the hair?  My little rocker!

Monday - Jan 31 - Getting to know you.... this is part of our Youth Leader gang.  We met up for dinner because, see that guy in the middle?  He's our new Youth Minister!! YIPEE!!!  We're so excited to have him at our church.  So he wants to get to know our Team, & of course, food needs to be involved with any church function, hence the dinner to talk.  We ended up chit-chatting for HOURS.  Cant wait to get to know Scott better through the years.... & sorry I look like a train wreck.  I came from working out so I have "sweat hair"...ewww...

Tuesday - Feb 1 - My new hat... I have been making hats for everyone & found some yarn I forgot I had.  I ended up whipping up a hat for me.  A new slouch hat.. that I'm in LOVE with... the colors will go with everything I wear.  I will probably be wearing this hat the rest of winter...

Wednesday - Feb 2 - Its got Heart.... I made some hot chocolate to ease up my sore throat.  I look down & see this heart.  I kept stirring up the drink & the heart never lost its shape... how cool is that?  I love to find hearts in things anyways.  I have pictures of "heart" pickles, chicken nuggets, potato chips... a friend even sent me a picture this week on my phone of a rubber band that landed in a heart shape.  Love reminders of love!

Thursday - Feb 3 - Its a CHILI kinda night... it's cold.. its winter... my throat hurts.  I just wanted chili to warm me & my throat up.  Yep, I live in an area that has pasta in my chili.. & cheese.. mmmm....

Friday - Feb 4 - Its a new WHEY .... I have been doing some research on natural serotonin & I keep reading that if you drink whey shakes, the extra protein helps.  I remember hearing so much about this product on "The Biggest Loser" & found it at the grocery, so I'm going to give it a try.  I'm trying to be more aware of what I eat & do things more naturally... so we'll see how it goes.

Saturday - Feb 5 - Crazy Love.... I keep hearing everyone talk about this book & it was the book of the year at Family Christian, so I've got to see what its all about.  I finished my last book the night before, so diving into Mr. Francis Chan's teaching.  I'm pretty excited about it too.

I'll be hopping around to visit your week in pictures... Keep Clickin'

Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Its Friday... I'm still sick... this bites... lets frag...

*****

Yeah - its been over a week & I'm still feeling like the plungers are not only ON my nose, but up inside my head, on top of my sinuses.  One minute, I'm struggling to breath & then the next, its like Niagra Falls & a gush of snot rushes out. (I love a good visual) .... I know my coworkers have to be tired of hearing me blowing my nose.  But now as much as my NOSE hates being blown.  My nose is now just raw skin.  Ask me if I'm grumpy?

*****
My secret of getting through winter?  Knee High Socks!!! Honestly, they have been the best.  I put them on when I wake up & only take them off to bathe & then put another pair on to sleep in & to wear the next day.  Its like built in leg warmers... & since everyone would totally laugh at me if I pulled out my 80's leg warmers, this is the next best thing.  Get a few pair... see if they change your life like they did mine.

*****
Why does chapped stick make my lips more chapped?  How does that make sense?  I got a lot of great suggestions on Facebook & have since bought most of those suggestions - only to have chapped lips still.  I do think so far, the winner is Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment.  Wow - between my nose & lips, I'm just looking like a dry skin freak....

*****

By the way - my throat still feels like it has razor blades in it... after a week.  Is that a symptom of death?

*****
Did anyone else find it ironic that I did a post on how germs freak me out... & then I got sick?

*****
WEIRD TIP!!! I heard this on the radio... if you get a brain freeze from eating ice cream, they say you can put PEPPER on your ice cream & it prevents something which makes you have that bullet-in-the-brain feeling!  Do what?  They even tried & tested it on the radio & said that its true. The guy was gulfing down the ice cream & he never did freeze that brain. Plus, he said you couldnt taste the pepper.  I'm intrigued.  I'm not a big ice cream fan, so someone needs to try this & let me know if it really works.  Can I put pepper in a slushie?

*****

SPAT OF THE WEEK:  Preparing to leave together.... does anyone else have a argument every time you attempt to leave the house together?  We were getting ready to go see "Rock of Ages" last Sunday (ROCK ON!) & Ricky was ready first - which I will say, is the most rare thing that ever happens.  He's worse then a Real Housewife of Anytown USA... but he was ready. I was still drugging myself up with cold medicine to survive the day & he starts to set the alarm, which gives you 30 seconds to get out of the door.  I tell him to hold on, I still dont have my purse, dont have my phone, dont have my SHOES on... wait a sec!  So he goes downstairs & gets on the computer... DO WHAT?  All that will take less then 2 minutes... he felt the need to go sit down & act like it would take a few hours?  I ended up getting ready, went out & sat in the car without telling him... so when he finally came out, I looked at him & said, "What took you so long?  we're going to be late now" .... then I sneezed on him...

*****

The Superbowl this weekend?  I honestly am not even sure who's playing...I only care about Glee coming on afterwards...

OK - I'm making it through the day & then I'm home, on the couch, vegging - doing nothing this weekend - hoping to get on the upside of this "yuck"... let's hope next Friday, I'm better & not sounding so grumpy & complain-y...

Happy Friday everyone...

It's a Hodgepodge

Because my brain is still full of Nasal Spray & my throat feels like it has razors in it (insert big, froggy voice sounding SIGH)... I'm going to take a brain break & join along with some of my bloggy friends & do the Wednesday Hodgepodge.  I always enjoy reading everyone's answers every week so I'm jumping in today... & I promise I wont spread germs on your Hodgepodge!

1. Would you rather be seen as a person who did your duty or forged your own path?

....OK... I cant even answer this... because I'm stuck on the word "Duty"... Yep, you all know my mind is immature sometimes :)

2. This week's Wednesday Hodgepodge happens to fall on Groundhog's Day. In keeping with that theme, if you could have a do-over of any one day out of the last seven, which day would it be and why? If you haven't seen the movie Groundhog Day this question will make absolutely no sense but that's okay...you can answer anyway.

I hate I have to pick one of the last seven days because I've been sick since 7 days ago!  BOO!  But if I had to pick - it would definitely be Sunday... ROCK OF AGES BABY!!!!!  I could sit through that show a dozen times over & over...

3. Hot cocoa...yay or nay on the marshmallows?

Ewwww.... who wants pieces of white, foamy looking things floating around?  I swear, I gagged a little thinking about it... Give me whipped cream on top of my hot cocoa anytime!  I dont think you should put ANYTHING in a beverage that you can CHEW... oh geez... gagging again...

4. Do you wear makeup every day? What are the top two must haves in your daily makeup routine?

If I leave the house, I usually have make up on.  I'm not a big, overly made up face... but I have to have powder & mascara... my top 2 MUSTS... mascara just makes an eye look brighter.  Powder?  Just makes a face look less dead...

5. Is it more important to you in a relationship to be loved or understood?

I dont think someone can understand you if they dont love you...like really understand you... & if they did understand you, they NEED to love you - right?  Catch 22 question here! :)

6. Parsley, sage, rosemary, or thyme...your favorite?

What are those things?  Names of demon lover's babies in the movies? ... So I choose none of the above...

7. What do you do when you feel angry?

Scream & cry... which is what I usually do when I'm happy... & sad... & excited.... Geez, I'm predictable.  Anger will sometimes make me hyper though too... like I gotta fight or something.  So it will usually involve some sort of physical activity, or else, I'm punching someone or something.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I need a vacation...(its the thought going through my head more often then any other thoughts lately)

If you want to join in the Hodgepodge - just click the button above & jump right on in!

Siesta Scripture #3

Here we go, into our 3rd verse.

I am doing the Beth Moore study, "A Woman's Heart - God's Dwelling Place" & this was one of the scriptures for the day.  When I read it, I was like ... WOW, I love this!!! So without further ado, my scripture #3 to memorize is:

"The Lord will FIGHT for you...
you need only to be still"
-Exodus 14:14

I adore this... We hear the verse, "Be still & know I am God" all the time.  This one reminds me of that verse, but it has that little extra UMPH for me... the image of God FIGHTING for us!  Isnt that a pretty cool image to think of?  And all we have to do?  Just stop - get out of the way - quick messing things up!

I keep thinking of two people fighting & someone jumps in the middle - trying to handle the situation - but the people are still swinging over the arms trying to hold them back... kicks being thrown around the body of the person in the middle.

Can you picture that person in the middle being God?  And he's just looking at us saying, "just be still!"  I'll take care of the fight for you... the fight against lonliness... the fight against finances... the fight against sickness... the fight against that sneaky, stupid devil....

So be encouraged today friends!!!!  We have the #1 Prize Fighter on our side... fighting for US!  We just need to be still....

Rock of Ages ROCKS!!!

"Dont need NOTHING... but a GOOD TIME"....sorry, I have nothing but 80s songs stuck in my head!

Yes, I was sick, but I wasnt about to miss "Rock of Ages"... especially with our seats being in the 2nd row.  So I dosed some extra Advil Cold & Sinus & off we went.

You knew it was going to be different when they hand you the program, along with ear plugs!!! No joke!  We were laughing so hard at that... & then we got to our seat & saw we were RIGHT IN FRONT of the speaker & I thought, hey, with my ears hurting already, I may need these.
For the record, my 80's rocker side won out & I didnt need them!

The other thing that you noticed before it started was no orchestra warming up... but instead, sounds of Def Leopard, Whitesnake, Poison coming out of the system.  People were singing & having a great time before the show even started.

I told Ricky when we walked in though that I know they thought he was probably a "plant" in the audience since we were in the front & there he was with his long hair & a black leather jacket... he personified ROCK!!!  He did get the glances!  But he wasnt the only rocker around... lots of long-haired men were around us.  One guy with short hair even spray painted his blue... not what you'd probably see for Les Miserables...

The show was HILRIOUS!!!!  The "narrator" (which is the guy in the black shirt) was the funniest thing I've ever seen.  He even interacted with the audience, which made it even awesome.  And the "Hippie" was also too much fun!  Put them together & I laughed so hard, I was coughing my sick head OFF!!!!

Constantine... Constantine... Constantine... He is just adorable.  Boy can WAILLLLLLLL... I wasnt his biggest fan on American Idol.  Come on - he was on the year Bo Bice was!!!  But he totally redeemed himself here.  He can SING... & sing rocker, 80 style!  This is the perfect job for him... its gotta be fun to do that for a living.... & yes, at one point, he sat down on the stage to sing a love ballad & since I coulda jumped up & hugged him, I have to say, we locked eyes... leave it to me though - he's singing this beautiful 80's ballad (which will always be the best ballads EVER) & I started laughing :)  He turned his head & didnt look back... I'm, if anything, a great distraction!

To say that this show isnt "kid appropriate" is an understandment though!  Even on the web site, it says, "With its abundance of T&A (but mainly immature) content, consider this a good night to call a babysitter.  Besides, the lyrical genuis of bands like Twisted Sister & Asia is wasted on the young." .... T&A ... umm, yeah!  Every female role, except one, plays a stripper... & the one role is the leader of the strip joint... & we were in the 2nd row & was so close that I told Ricky, "Um yeah, brazilian waxes must be an expense on this tour"!!!

I dont get embarassed easily but some of the moves, again, right in front of us, had me turning my head & saying, "OH MY GOSH!".

At one point, one of the ladies had come off the stage & was literally arms distance from Ricky.  She bent over & slapped herself on the butt right in front of him & then started rubbing her chest.  I had to laugh at Ricky because he literally turned in his seat, AWAY from her & he turned like 20 shades of red.  If you knew how embarassed Ricky can get, you woulda laughed at him too... poor guy...

I would go back  & see it time & time again though.  The way they tied the music of the 80's together was more then TOTALLY RAD (like that?) ... the costumes of the 80's ... the subtle hints of 80's language & trivia was so much fun for me.

Ricky surprised me by buying me the soundtrack when we left ... over 75 minutes of the music on this CD by the original cast - so all the fun, I got to take home with me & replay it over & over...

If it comes to your town & you love the 80's ... then GO SEE IT... but leave the kids at home!!!

PS - for the record, Ricky & I already said if our little acting daughter, Lindsay, says she's trying out for a role in "Rock of Ages", we'll be chaining her up in our basement! :)

Project 365... 2011: Week 5

Are you kidding me?  We're through January?  Geez... at this rate, its going to be my 40th birthday before I know it (which is at the end of December) haha!!  So here's my week in pictures:

Sunday - Jan 23 - "I'm going to be on the REAL YouTube?" .... We filmed a 4 series skit for church.  It is being filmed in the format of "The Office" so you need what?  An Office?  So my boss let us use my work area... it was such a weird feeling have my church family in my work environment!  There was a little boy who played a Look-a-like to our main character & he is the most hilarious little boy.  He was told it was going to be on YouTube & his face lit up & he said, "I'm going to be on the REAL YouTube?" ... when we told him it was indeed the REAL YouTube, his reaction was, "I'm going to be a STAR!!!!" ... how cute is that!

Monday - January 24 - It FINALLY happened!!! ... I had to laugh when I didnt mention the Christmas Tree in Friday Fragment & AuburnChick noticed it immediately with her comment, "Does this mean the tree is down?" .... Good catch friend!  Yes - He got it down...into the box!  I asked him, "So do I have to have a tree box in my living room for another 2 months?"... for the record, it did sit there for about 24 hours.  Whew!

Tuesday - January 25 - Its ugly getting pretty.... My 6 week hair appointment.  I always take pictures of the area around so decided to go for the picture of me with my wet hair waiting for the cut.  I still dont have the guts to get my picture with the plastic bag on my head! ;)  Maybe in the future

Wednesday - January 26 - Blurb is my new best friend!!!! .... I have always looked at Blog2Print but they were kinda pricey for me... & then the awesome host of this Project 365 mentioned how she uses "Blurb".  I checked them out.  And they're AWESOME!  You can put the format of your book together & then, its like half the cost!  My book, which was 114 pages was only like $32.00 - & that includes shipping!  It did take a few days to get it together, but to me, it was worth it to have it the way I wanted it & especially for the price!  I feel like I know more now for next years book!  So for all you Project 365'ers - remember Blurb!!  You'll be so glad to have your year in pictures in a book to have forever!

Thursday - Jan 27 - Knitting for a friend... I get such awesome comments about my knitting from you all... I have a blog-friend who I've "talke" with for so long & I just love her.  Carolina Girl is always encouraging, always funny, always real about life!  She's awesome!  I know I will meet her one day in person... even if its meeting up for a half marathon - which I KNOW she can do!!!! :)  It was so fun finding something to knit for her... HUGS lady!  Hope you enjoy it!!!

Friday - January 28 - "Oh my EAARRRSSSS" (said in the best Bart Simpson voice) ... anyone remember that when he said that about Lisa playing her saxaphone?  For some reason, that sticks in my head & I whine when my ears hurt.  I stopped on the way home for some drops because I was miserable the night before & couldnt sleep... I just wanted to sleep this night... hence the drops...

Saturday - January 29 - It only took a little over a year.... OK OK OK... so I cant give Ricky too much grief over the Christmas Tree.  He gave me a sewing machine LAST Christmas & I never have gotten it out of the box.  UNTIL TODAY.  I'm still sick & feeling bad so I just fiddled around my room. And finally got it out.  Its been a dream of mine to learn to sew.  Now, I've got to figure out what to do with this contraption.  I didnt even have any thread to get started learning anything.... this will be my new project... wish me luck!

Anxious to see your week in pictures!  Keep Clicking!!!!

I think I love you CSN...

I know if you've been around the blog world for awhile, you've seen CSN mentioned.  They have been so kind to me by letting me do some shopping there before.  We ended up getting this MAC-DADDY toaster.  I never knew I could love a toaster like I do this one.  Ricky even said he's learned a lesson on quality & not buying something simply because its cheaper.  Sounds like he's in love too!  But now, with spring coming, I get to do more shopping!  Who doesnt want to look for a wooden swing set or something to spruce up the house for Spring Cleaning?

I have to say, I really am impressed by this place... if you havent been by there to check them out before - you really should.  Afterall, who doesnt like to shop from the comfy of their home?  I can do it for hours!!! (Dont tell Ricky)

Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Its Friday.. & I feel like poop... Here's your visual for the day:  I just posted on Facebook "I feel like I have plungers covering my nose & hot pockers sticking in my ears..." ... stop & visualize that for a moment, will you?  Now imagine how today is probably going to go for me... If I make it through the day, it will be amazing.  Maybe Fragging will help....

*****
We are out of dog treats at home & our 4 fur-babies sit at the door & refuse to let you pass unless you give them some sorta goodie before you go.  So what have we been giving our dogs?  Saltine crackers!  Hey, when you're desperate to leave without a guilty conscience of sad, puppy dog eyes, you do what you have to do.  I told Ricky, if they start talking back to us like a parrot, I'm going to be freaked out!

*****
I'm hoping I feel better by Sunday because I'm headed to see "ROCK OF AGES" ... the Broadway show that is all about 80's music!  Starring none other then the American Idol contestant, Constantine!!!  Even better?  We're in the 2nd row!  Like, I may get Constantine sweat thrown on me... (ewww)... I'm wondering if I need to pull out the Aqua Net & blue eye liner & acid wash jean mini skirt for the occasion.

Its FINALLY going to get warmer this weekend - & by warmer, its going to get to 45 degrees!  Which I was so looking forward to a good run!  That is actually great running weather... & now, I'm sick... this bites

*****
Speaking of running, my blog buddy, The Bug sent me a comic... see?  Running in winter has its advantages!

SPAT OF THE WEEK:  Dog Food!!!!  No, not the spat we had a few weeks ago of Ricky NOT emptying it in the containers.  This is a new Dog Food Spat.  We like to keep things new & fresh in our relationship! :)       Ricky was actually helping me out because I was so busy one evening - I normally feed the dogs, but he said he would do it.  Oh.My.Gosh.... it drove me insane.  I have a method - a system - I can have 4 dogs, who all have different kinds of food, different bowls, all specific, all fed within 1 minute. Its truly a work of art... So Ricky goes to feed the dogs & he takes about 5 minutes, just to walk out in the garage a dozen times to get their food, go get some more... wait, I need a different kind... Oh wait again, I need a little bit more for the big dog.  I was sitting there watching this ready to blow a gasket!  In the end, I just grabbed the bowls & did it myself. .... wait, now that I think about it, did he do that on purpose so I wouldnt ask him to feed the dogs again? hmmm.... he's sneaky like that!!!

*****
Did you see that intern from the White House on American Idol?  Ricky & I replayed the part of Randy acidentally slapping her in the face, like 50 times!  That was the funniest thing I've ever seen on American Idol ever!  ... She is my favorite female singer so far.  There is a You Tube Video of her singing "Gravity" when she was in Harvard... she's fantastic!
But I dont even care if the guy can sing or not, I hope the guy who is sticking with his fiance who was in the car accident wins it all!!!!

*****
I'll leave you with this picture my sweet friend Gretta sent me.  How awesome would this be to make for a little new baby boy?  And since I think some sorta big football game is coming up, I thought it would be appropriate to post.  Believe me - this picture is the ONLY thing football I've looked at all year! :)  I have better things to do - like feeding dogs & laughing at girls getting slapped in the face by Randy Jackson!

Happy Friday everyone... or in the case of how I'm feeling, Happy BLAH-Day!
