Weekend Roundup... in an instant

With the convenience of Instagram - I love taking pictures of my weekend so I can give a little glimpse into my weekend as well as the words... so I may have to retitle my weekend recap posts...

Friday

* Stopped at the grocery on the way home... & love when I get home & still have nothing for dinner.  Thank goodness my hubby is wonderful & picked up some Chick Fil-A on his way home.

* The Hubs got home & we were both exhausted & ended up taking an hour nap before we ate... now THATS how you start a weekend.

* We started watching "Hatfields & McCoys" ... & I was lost in the first 15 minutes...

Saturday

* Woke up to my arm being scratched to high heaven when Bruno got on the bed.  Better then an alarm clock

* Running Time... & I felt like poo.  The Hubs went with me again & again, he was striding right along like it was a casual stroll.  Me?  It just wasnt a good run - couldnt ever get my breathing down right & felt like my body weighed an extra 500 lbs.. on each leg... maybe it was the humidity?  maybe it was because my intervals increased & I didnt get to run much last week?  Maybe its just a bad run?  it happens... still feels BLAH

* PHOTO SESSION...

Remember this picture I took awhile back?

Well, here is the little man now...

Another family session...

My awesome friend Chasity went with me & helped along... it was a warm day, but wasnt horribly miserable & the momma timed it perfectly.  When she got there, the baby just woke up so we got lots of smiles & we were done in an hour... not one baby cry the whole time!  YES!

* The Hubs & I headed back out to look for cars... this is just getting frustrating.  He said, "I just need to go out & pick out a car for you & just bring it home & say, here it is" ... I like the idea of not having to worry about looking... but does he think "pretty" like me?

* Ate at Chuey's ... I was excited to see vegetarian tacos... they had guacomole on them... sounded good... taste?  um... not so good... there was TOO much guac on them... & Ricky even said, "I'd never thought I'd hear you say there was too much guacomole on something" ... me either...

* Stopped at the local ice cream shop on the way home...they make sherbert everyday... we had to wait in line for 15 minutes.  I took this picture & literally, before I put my phone down, the WHOLE THING dropped in my lap... are you kidding me?  Luckily, we just laughed.  Dumped off the ice cream (that was in my hands) in the dumpster.  The Hubs took part of his ice cream & scooped it on my cone for me... we werent waiting in line for another 15 minutes.  But it was just the right size in the end.

Sunday

* I ended up not going to church because we had plans to volunteer at a local Triathalon... the guy who was in charge never gave us the details on which water station we needed to be at... so that was a bust... I dont think this event was well organized at all... sad...

* Feeders Supply... Dog food refill trip...

* Stopped at Target & got ready to go to the movies... 5 boxes of candy for $5?  A lot better then $3.75 for one box at the theater.  We even got a bag of pretzels & some sandwich bags & made snack bags to take in with us... I know its technically 'wrong' - but I think $25.00 for 2 bottles of water, & a pretzel for me & candy for Ricky is REALLY WRONG!!!

* We headed to see "Snow White & the Huntsman" ... Charlize Theron?  AMAZING & beautiful.... Kristen Stewart?  I just kept thinking she was Bella ... we really enjoyed it.  It got a little long during the "dwarves scenes" but otherwise, thumbs up.

*  Previews of Les Miserables ... with HUGE JACKMAN??? & Anne Hathaway?  Christmas time!!! ... I cried during the previews...

* Sam's Club... how do you not go there just to get a bundle of bananas for $1.48... especially when they're 58 cents a pound at the grocery?

* TONY AWARDS... I love Neil Patrick Harris... & am starting to love Jesse Tyler Ferguson as much..

Here's to a great week for us all...

Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Friday... first full week of June.
How is that possible?
I know we're going to blink & its going to be the Holidays..
(did you all cringe like I just did?)

Let's not worry about Christmas trees yet
let's frag!!!

******

Yes, we're still on the car-hunt
& I have said more then once that I truly believe
that car salesmen are sucking my will to live.

I had my heart set on a Ford Escape, but the more I test drive them,
the more I'm not sure that's the car for me...
EVERY ONE of them has had something weird wrong with it on the test drive
Except one... that I LOVED!!!!
But they wouldnt even deal on the price.
Hello?  Do you NOT want to sell the vehicle?

But I ended up driving a sporty car
... & kinda liked it...
so now, my eyes are open to ANYTHING
SUV, car, truck, motorcycle
Bring it on

But that just means even more car lots to visit
Lord, give us strength

*****

I've got to find some answers
... that means to Pinterest I head today...

I got some little cucumbers in my Co-Op basket yesterday

Arent they the cutest little boogers?

When they handed them to me, I said,
"Oh, PICKLES!"

The lady just kinda laughed & said, "No... cucumbers"
I played it off ... laughing... saying, "I KNOW..."
I felt like a dork... but what's new?

She said, "they'll be pickles if you know how to pickle"
I kinda gave a "That's what I meant" look

But now - I want to know how to turn these into real pickles...
And as I go to the Bible for answers on life
I will go to Pinterest for answers on how to be crafty & domesticate

Anyone have any thoughts? Tips?

*****

Summer time
Which means LIFETIME TV is on at my house

DROP DEAD DIVA!!!
Anyone else watch it?
Its fantastic
except that they have Kim Kardashian on it
HUH?
Now wait - I'm a Kim fan
Think she's beautiful & am fascinated by her life
But an actress?.... NO!!!
She's a better actress on her reality show

and DANCE MOMS!!!!!
They need some new batches in though
Still love to watch the routines at the end... amazing kids...

*****

Know what WONT be on my TV?
Fox TV!!!

Stupid cable company is fighting with Time Warner
& innocent people like me get the slap in the face

Dont they know 'So you think you can dance' is on tv now?
& that me, being the dance pro that I am (not really)
that I HAVE to watch - to critique & yell my opinion at the screen?

If the world ends soon - its because of this reason alone
Nothing to do with the Mayans

We can only get it on one old tv that uses Rabbit Ears for an anetenna
Its the TV in front of my treadmill in the basement
I may have to pull up a bean bag & adjust the rabbit ears
... feel like I'm a teenager again....

*****

You know I had to put another up this week...

Kinda true, huh?
I'm not sure I did know how to spell 'ridiculously' before...
or 'photogenic'

Want to see something disturbing?

There's an app out that makes people AGE?
Are you kidding me?
I'm seeing the app 'live & in person'
I dont need to envision what I'm going to look like in another 30 years

Here's my 7 yr old nieces

Madi

Sophia

I think it bothers me because that picture of Sophia?
That's exactly what I look like in the morning NOW!!!!

*****

SPAT OF THE WEEK:  RUNNING ON THE ROAD!!!!!
So as you've been seeing, the Hubs has been pounding the pavement with me
Great to have his company with me
... but he's new to the road...
& what a road we live on too

Its a country road
which is HILLY
& it just means people drive like its an Indy Race Course

The speed limit is 35... people easily hit 55 on it
(I'm not speaking from experience or anything... cough...cough...)

But you have to be careful on these roads
& having run them for 4 years now - I kinda got it down
I stay on the left side of the road on flat even ground
then you can see the cars coming at you & if they dont see you,
then you know you can get out of the way
.... better then you not seeing them come up behind you & them also not seeing you
that's a bad thing waiting to happen

BUT... if you go UP a hill, I get on the right side
because these cars are like DUKES OF HAZZARD
coming over the hills... jumping them...
I think I even hear a YEEHHHAAWWWW sometimes
... & see a Boss Hogg white hat in the window

ANYWAYS...
Ricky is constantly jumping from side to side when a car comes
Not even looking behind him when he runs from the left to the right

He keeps telling me I need to move
I keep telling him he needs to quit trying to be a ninja running arcross the street

Then we're on both sides of the streets & he's now
made the cars have to fit in between us
when the roads are like a foot wide anyways

In the end, the winner will be the one who doesnt get hit by a car
Want to take bets on who that will be?
& no - to win this bet,
neither one of us are allowed to shove the other in front of a car

Hope everyone has a fantastically fabulous FRIDAY!!!!

Easier or Harder?

Yesterday was National Running Day...

did you celebrate?
did you even know it was National Running Day?
did you wonder why anyone would create a National Running Day?

It was...
& of course, that meant I had to run

& I've had a partner running lately

The good ole Hubs

Here we are right before we left... our feet...decked out in running shoes
You cant see it, but our toes are clapping in applause for NRD (I'm getting tired of typing out National Running Day...so NRD it is)

I find that God has such a sense of humor because yesterday, my scripture in my devotional I'm doing right now had these exact words:

"Run to God! Run from evil!
... Listen for God's voice in everything you do...everywhere you go;
He's the one who will keep you on track"
-Proverbs 3:5-6 (MSG)

A scripture that says RUN... on NRD....
you're cool God, to throw that in today

But I thought about it last night as I was going to bed...

Ricky has started running with me & Saturday, we did 5 miles...
we got home & Ricky wasnt even hardly sweating.
It was a cooler day, but you could tell it didnt even phase him to do 5 miles
& this was his first time out running with me...

Its so natural for him to run

He's got long legs, no body fat, strength like no other, an aerobic capacity that is amazing considering the fire accident he was in years ago...

Me?  I've been running for 4 years now... & I'm still huffing & puffing, my muscles ache & wear out fast, I cant loose a pound to save my life & I struggle every stupid run I do...

& I thought about the scripture of the day... Run to God...

Is it easier for some to run to God then others?
It seems that way sometimes, doesnt it?

Seems like others have this God-inspired life that makes it look like the 'run' is easy... life always seems to go their way... nothing bad happens to them... they have the best attitudes... life just falls in place

& others, while running, seem to always be huffing & puffing, fighting the obstacles that get in the way, where it seems like the road keeps getting longer with each step

Both are running towards God.. but sometimes it seems like one's path may be on a padded, soft turf while others have a woody trail full of grown roots to trip over...

In the end?  Ricky & I finished our run together... We both got in 5 miles...I may have been more sweaty & ugly looking, but I finished... with Ricky helping me along the way....

I guess in the end, if we're running to God, it doesnt matter the path - we're all going to have an amazing finish waiting us...

Hang in there if you're feeling like life is a that rocky, hilly, root-infested trail...
You're getting stronger...
You're not alone....
Keep RUNNING TO GOD... He will keep you on track...

Hodgepodge

Wednesday... but I keep thinking its Tuesday...
& there's nothing worse then getting your days messed up
Except when you think its Thursday & its really Friday...
now that's not bad at all...

Hodgepodge Time

1. How many students were in your high school graduating class? Did you know most, if not all of them?

I cant remember the number.. but it was a big class... like 700-something.  I know we were one of the biggest classes that had graduated in awhile.  And while I didnt "know" everyone of them, our class, I think, 'knew' everyone... if that makes sense.

I think I "know" more people today only because of Facebook :)

2. What was the last thing you photographed?

My lunch from yesterday... loving my new phone & Instagram

I didnt bring my lunch & have been feeling blah lately... thinking I havent juiced in a week & not eating as much 'greens' - so filled up on some healthy goodness for lunchtime.

3. Pickles-love 'em or loathe 'em? If it's love what's something you eat that needs a pickle.

I love bread & butter pickles... can eat a whole jar
& have a new love of dill pickles with sandwiches... but GOTTA throw a bunch of salt on 'em .... heck, I throw a bunch of salt on everything

4. What's a stereotype you perpetuate without meaning to?

Source: 9gag.com via Kris on Pinterest

5.  Ever been horseback riding? If so, is it something you enjoy? If not, do you have any interest? Did you watch the Kentucky Derby? Will you be watching the last leg of the Triple Crown this weekend?

Hello... have you ever heard me talk about my dad?  The one who is a "Horse Whisperer" himself?  The one who lives & breaths all things horses?  So yeah - I've been horseback riding...

(Me & my daddy's 3rd child - Cochese)
Do I enjoy it?  Only when I dont have to beat the side of a horse to run
... & no, my butt does NOT enjoy it the next day (OUCH!)

I'm a Kentucky girl - so the Kentucky Derby is a way of living around here... you have to know something about horse races to be here ... & I'll watch the race if I'm around a TV... I wont make my day around the race.  If it aint the Kentucky Derby, then I dont care.

6. What's your favorite wedding movie?

Ohhh... I love all things wedding...

Father of the Bride... ( cry EVERYTIME... even now)
The Wedding Planner ... (My dream job)
27 Dresses... (Bridesmaids dresses are the WORST)
The Proposal ... (Ryan Reynolds - enough said)
My Best Friend's Wedding ... (Dionne Warwick was never so popular)
Made of Honor... (McDreamy can be my Man of Honor anytime)
Runaway Bride ... (Julia Roberts was awesome... love the soundtrack too)

Probably my all time fav?
THE WEDDING SINGER!!!!!
...I wanna grow old with you....

7. What is one 'tourist attraction' in the USA you'd like to see in person?

Time Square!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to venture around New York
... see the stores
... catch a Broadway play
... run in Central Park
... & try to find a Real Housewife

8. Insert your own random thought here

Just got my hair 'did' yesterday.... what the heck do they do to make it so smooth & straight?  I just think its some sort of magical sorcery... its not possible to get the same look & feel at home... NOT POSSIBLE!!!!

There's always a 'BUT'...

Just off the title of this post, I'm going to get it out of my system...

"I like big BUT's & I can not lie..."

Yes... I made it a BUT, not BUTT ...

you'll see why later

But anytime I hear the word, "butt" or "but", I gotta break out my inner Sir-Mix-A-Lot

I was even mentioned in it

"Oh my God Becky... look at her butt" ... some family members call me Becky - so it could be me...

...Moving on...

I love how little words make all the difference ...

& one little word was pointed out to me this weekend at church

"but"

Most of the times, "but" isnt a good thing

" I really like you, BUT.... "

... that doesnt usually end up well

You ever have those conversations in your life

"You're doing well, BUT...."
"You're outfit looks good, BUT..."
"The car can be fixed, BUT...."

Yeah... sometimes, the 'but' makes you cringe

BUT sometimes it can be a good thing...

"Today is going to be rainy, BUT ... " (tomorrow is going to be sunny, or its going to clear up)
"You've got the flu, BUT .... " (we have medicine that can help you)
"You can't have a day off, BUT...." (you can have 2 DAYS OFF... now I'd REALLY like that one)

I've noticed that "BUT" changes everything

When you start off a sentence positively & add a 'but' in there, it changes it around - maybe balance it with some negative

Same with the negative sentence... add in a 'but' & it can turn it into a positive thing

So when we read the familiar story in John 8 this past Sunday, I had to circle this in my Bible.

The story is the woman caught in the act of adultery...
you know the story .... everyone wants to stone her...everyone quick to point fingers

Dont get me started on why the man wasnt there...another topic at another time...

This woman is standing being accused of this, everyone looking at her with harsh eyes, wanting to condemn her....

ya think that's a negative sentence?

We see though in John 8:8 .... "BUT JESUS"

"But Jesus bent down & started to write on the ground with his finger"

There's the change in the sentence
The change in the story
The change in this woman's life

We know Jesus bends down... tells anyone if they are the one who has no sin, to go ahead & throw that first stone... & watched everyone walk away

& we see Jesus tell this woman that he doesnt condemn her & tells her to go & leave her life of sin...

The story was turned around...

So just wanted to share this because maybe you're life is in a negative place...

Hold on... there's a BUT coming... a BIG OLE BUT!!
(had to do it, you know I did)

Jesus is with you... ready to throw that same sentence in your life story

"BUT JESUS"

What is Jesus going to turn around in your life?
Hang in there
... you're situation?  Know that Jesus can make it a positive...

Weekend Roundup... full of "Impromptu"

Friday:

* The Backyard .... little kids were rushing the stage while we were singing & dancing... that's the cutest thing EVER :)

* Ricky went with me to the Backyard for the first time ever, so afterwards, we headed out to eat... a impromtu Friday date...

* I learn I really like the word "impromptu"

Saturday:

* SLEEP!!! I actually slept in till 8:00 am!  HEAVEN!  Actually, I woke up at 7 & just lounged in bed till 8... why cant I do that everyday?  I bet I'd be a nicer person

* Headed out for a run... & had COMPANY!!!!  Ricky went with me... & what is impressive?  We did a little over 5 miles & he wasnt even phased... I guess that's what happens when you walk over 13 miles A DAY at work...

* See my new running shirt? ... love it... but feel funny wearing the word "athlete" ... I need to write in above it "Fluffy Athletes Run" :)

* We got home & tried out some Chocolate Coconut Water ... Coconut water is so full of electrolytes, potatssium - great stuff to hydrate & replenish sodium lost during running.  Add in Chocolate & YUMMY!!!!!!  Ricky even said that we need to get a big bulk of this stuff.... I never turn down the idea of a big bulk of anything chocolate

* Headed to our little Princess friend's 3rd birthday party... Here is Emily with her beautiful momma ready for her little dose of sugar

(I totally snagged this off Facebook...)

* Went looking for cars... here's another IMPROMPTU event... we had no intentions of buying a car, just getting an idea.  I need a new one... my car is over 180,000 miles with no AC, so its time...

* WHEW... that's all I'm gonna say about car searching... car salesman are CRAZY INTENSE... one even took my car keys & didnt give them back because they wanted us to drive their car out of there.  Hostage much?

* We ended up driving home a Ford Escape for the weekend (from another car lot) but we were in it for 15 minutes before we said, "This car aint it"

* Ricky stayed up most of the night looking for cars on the internet to go hunt down on Sunday....

Sunday

* Church!!!!  It was a fun surprise to see the video I posted the other day was used in the Sermon... if you havent seen it, check it out.. you'll be inspired

*

* Ricky & I matched at church... & EVERYONE noticed! ... it was totally unplanned,  I told everyone we even had matching ponytails! How many people can say that about their spouses?

* WW Cousins for lunch... they're known for their burgers.  I know them as the best salad bar EVER... its amazing!  And then, they have the best Sugar Cookies.  After having a salad for lunch, it just makes sense to balance it out with a dose of sugar cookie.

* Another car lot trip... Cars have come a LONG way since I got one... rear view cameras... your car talking to you through the speakers... the COST... YAWWWZZZAAA!

* Back to church for Senior High...

(I'm running tech for worship)

* Ricky came up & met me after Sr High & we headed down to pick up a quick snack for dinner... pulled in a parking lot & had another IMPROMPTU date...

* DROP DEAD DIVA IS BACK!!!!!!

... & I 'm done...

& exhausted...

Fingers crossed this week is a wonderful week for everyone!!!

Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Friday... it got here quick...
which tends to happen when its a 4 day work week
& which I could get use to VERY easily!!!
Let's Frag
*****

So I dont live in New York so it doesnt effect me
but I want to give props to Mayor Bloomberg
(& is it sad I know New York's mayor's name
but now my own state's Mayor?)

I keep telling everyone I bet there is going to be a change in the way
our country works with nutrition

Afterall, I think holding the title of
"The Most Obese Country in the WORLD"
isnt all the flattering or cool

I like that he said that he's not saying you cant HAVE a soft drink
but if you have to order 2 16oz drinks,
you'll probably find that you didnt drink the 2nd one afterall
....smart...

Now just dont touch chocolate!!!
(kidding!  I need a law prohibiting it actually)

*****

Anyone else watch "The Hatfields & McCoy's" on The History Channel?

I saw the previews at the movie theater
& while I'm not a big 'cowboy' fan,
this looked really good.

******

Speaking of movies ....
excited about the new few weeks

This weekend - Snow White & the Huntsman!!!!!

Then we have 'ROCK OF AGES' - which I'm giddy excited over
& then Spiderman
& Batman

good stuff coming!!!!
what are you anxious to see?

*****

Speaking of Snow White...
Look at this Pin that my buddy Carly tagged me in...

It TOTALLY made my day...

******

& in honor of this amazing man who looks good running,
....my horrible running picture

I've mentioned before I've only bought one set of racing pictures
...this is why...

(Rodes City Run - March 17, 2012)

I got an email notice that it was my final shot to buy this picture
so with the advances of technology,
I just snapped a picture of it with my phone for memory sake
...but look at those chubby cheeks flapping in the wind...

This is usually what REAL racing pictures look like
&  now you can appreciate my love for
"Ridicously Photogenic Guy"

******

So I've asked before for you to pray for my brother in law
... well, first of all - he's still doing FANTASTIC!
He's got  MONTHS behind him now sober
& now, some exciting news

He's gonna be a daddy!!!!

Here's my future niece/nephew

So if you can, continue to pray for him...
Life is looking up for this guy!

*****

My Co-Op goodies this week

Doesnt it make you want to eat more veggies
when it just looks so beautiful

*****

We had Bok-Choy for the first time yesterday
... wonderful...
another thumbs up

That's why I love this co-op
it makes me use foods I would NEVER buy & try

& like I told my mom,
to hear Ricky come in & say excitedly,
"Did we get any Swiss Chard?"
& be disappointed when we dont...
that's HUGE!

*****

SPAT OF THE WEEK: Some orange flowering plant

That's how general this spat is,
but it was a spat nonetheless

We have some plant that blooms some orange flower
...can you tell I have no green thumb at all?...
But they are everywhere this time of year

I think they are beautiful!!!!
Anything that shoots orange out?  I love it.

But we have some in our front yard & Ricky wanted to dig them up
WHY?
He's thinking is, "They grow in the wild, so they look trashy in a yard"
WHAT?
I tried to tell him I think its cool that God makes these things
that make nature & 'the wild" look so beautiful...

Goodness...
we got in a WAY too big debate on whether they are:
1. Pretty plants
2. If they should be in yards
3. To why God created them
4. To why God created us to argue over these plants

Circle of life people... circle of life
(of a spat)

*****

Hope you all have a Fantasticly Fabulous Friday!!!!

Wonder about the story...

I took this picture a few weeks ago

I had gone to the doctor before my last half marathon

& while I was getting ready to get out of my car, I saw this....

this man came riding on his motorized wheel chair from across the parking lot

& he got closer to this fire truck that was just sitting there

... no firemen anywhere...

& he got closer & just stopped

... & stared at it...

took in every bit of it

& I had to capture this moment

wondered if he was a fire fighter himself back in the day

wondered if he worked on a truck like this before

wondered if he always dreamed of growing up as a little boy
to someday drive a vehicle like this

I had to take this picture because I wonder what the story is for this man....

...everyone has a story...

Hodgepodge

Wednesday... its already been so hectic at work... its our Board Meeting day, which means I've ran around my office since 6 am with my head cut off...

Now its time for me to take a breather & Hodgepodge a bit...

1. What can the average citizen do to honor a military veteran and/or those currently serving?

I'm anxious to hear others answers on this because I'm not sure myself.
The only person in my family that was in the military was my grandfather.  As a kid, I didnt 'get it' or appreciate what he sacrificed... but now that I'm older & see how NUTS the world is,  & hear the stories & see the pictures & know people who have loved ones, it becomes reality of what people give to serve our country... so I'd love to know how I can honor those who are so brave.

One thing I have actually done before.. I've seen people in uniforms - especially in an airport - & I've thanked them... just a quick "Thank you for serving" ... & the expression I've gotten in return?  Yeah - I think a simple "thank you" put a smile on their face.

2. Besides a flag, what is something you own that is red, white, and blue?

I cant really think of anything ... anything that had those colors usually is a piece of clothing with a flag on it... so that technically doesnt count...

& I know I dont 'own' them, but the first thing that came to my mind was my parents - haha!!!  My dad is a red head, my mom is ALWAYS wearing blue... & they're white... so there you go :)

3.  Does love really conquer all?

This again will prove how weird my mind works... first thing I thought of was a battle in the Lord of the Rings movie-kinda-feel.. & someone storming a castle with a bunch of roses & saying "I LOVE YOU" ... not gonna work...

But I think love can ONLY conquer all if its from both sides... you can love on one end, but if its not returned... then its probably not conquering nothin' ...

4.  Strawberry shortcake or blueberry pie?

Tricky... I usually pick pie over anything... but then you throw strawberries in at me & then you mess me up.... me love strawberries...& all you teacher-friends of mine, I know that sentence isnt correct in grammar terms, but when I think of strawberries, I think of my 3 yr old self... so its appropriate...

Can we just make it a strawberry pie? ... with cool whip....

5. Do you share personal stuff with your hairdresser?

My hairdresser & all the hairdressers in her salon are awesome... so yeah, I'm usually sharing personal stuff... if I'm not sleeping... mmmm.... hair brushing & fingers on your scalp during a shampooing?

I'm usually just drooling from falling asleep instead of gabbing...

6. Does money lead to selfishness?

I wouldnt know...

Anyone want to give me some money & I'll test out the idea myself?

7. What piece of furniture in your home most needs replacing or refinishing?

My purple couch in "my" room... I take naps on this couch, I sit & knit on one side so the arm rest is pushed down... the other side is the dog's seat & they have the cushions messed up... I put covers over it to help hide it, but covers are just ugly too... but its oh-so-comfy....

you may remember this picture of my KT Tape sun tan... but look behind me... that's the couch... with the dog on it... covered... & looking awful...

I do a 'daily picture' on another site & you will usually see a different dog on there every day

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I get so tired of working out so much, trying to eat healthy & still being so.... whats a political correct term.... 'fluffy'?... its frustrating...

I wont rant on about it... but feeling fat-frustration lately... blame it on the closet change I did over the weekend.

Weekend Roundup

Weekend Roundup ... plus a day...

I'm so messed up... repeat to myself over & over - "Its NOT Monday - its Tuesday"

Here was my weekend

Saturday

* Ricky worked this morning - but no sleeping in for me... got up & made some breakfast - wanting to get my run in before it was too miserable with the heat

* Went for my run early ... it was still too hot.  The humidity was INSANE & I literally was a sticky, sweaty mess.

* Cleaned up & ready to tackle my project of the day... MY CLOSET!!!

* Took me 3 hours - but it is so clean & organized now.  You cant tell from this pictures (weird angles wont let me snap a pic) - but my shoes are straight in boxes - by season... my clothes are organized... my knitting goodies are all in a tote labeled... my t-shirts were weeded through... I love just standing in my closet now

* I have 3 HUGE bags of nothing but clothes I got rid of... & still have a ton of clothes... & still feel like I have nothing to wear

* Grill out time... we made corn on the cob & mushroom burgers... yum!  Plus, some fresh Kale ... while watching "Princess & the Frog" ... that's just perfection to me.

Sunday

* Miss the beginning of church for a Family Session... we were scheduled for 3:00 pm but it was going to be the hottest day of the year, so this family was wonderful to move it up till 9:30 ... it was still HOTTTTTTTT - but nothing like it was in the afternoon.

* These were my first "returning clients" :) ... I did Ashley's Senior Pictures last year... made me feel good to know they enjoyed my work so much that they'd come back

* Also my first session with a doggie... they're like working with children

* Chasity assisted me (she's my photography angel) & then we had to BOLT to Jr. High Small Group... we arrived a few minutes late & sweaty from the shoot - but glad to make it

* Ricky & I claimed it "Date Afternoon" & spent the day together...

* A Date afternoon of course always includes Target!!! ... which has Running Skirts on sale for $12.99 ... buy 'em up ladies!!!

* We went to the Japanese Restaurant... mmmm....

* Had to run out to the Senior High Small Group... loved our conversation on "dating"... the guys got to ask questions about girls & vice versa... loved one of the guys questions was "Why do girls have to go to the bathroom together?" ... trying to learn that one early I guess...

* Ricky drove his bike over to the small group & I drove him home... look at Ricky being Mr. Lance Armstrong :)

* We came home & watched "MegaMind" ... I was cracking UP... only to find out that Will Ferrel was the voice of the blue-dude... then it made perfect sense

* Ricky made me a bowl of popcorn during the movie.. I'm not a big popcorn fan - but WOW... it was the best tasting popcorn ever.  Come to find out - it was "Theater Butter Popcorn" ... after he told me that, I felt like I should run another 5 miles.  Didnt even want to look at the calorie count.

Monday (I wish every Monday was a weekend roundup day)

* Got up with intentions to do an early morning run outside ... but it was SIZZLING... so just stuck to the treadmill.  A fan blowing in my face is much nicer then 90% humidity at 9 am

* I want to be Kelly Ripa

* Our Memorial Weekend dinner consisted of Papa johns pizza... I'm addicted to pineapple on pizza now

* We watched "Tower Heist" ... wow... Ferris Bueller is looking OLD!!!!!

* I finished up my DVR with the Merlin finale shows ... now I'm sad its over & cant wait till next season

* We sat out front with Sydney for a bit & she discovered something we have... BEES!!!!! We had a bad time with them in our mulch a few years ago... in my best Poltergist voice... THEY'RE BACK!!!!!!

* Ricky went to war

* Our poor Sydney was stung... she's so allergic to everything & instantly swelled up.  We've had to do Emergency Runs to the vet before so she could get shots - so we keep Benadryl on hand... except what we had had expired. DANG IT!  So Ricky went out to get some more... & we live in the country & our only Sav-a-step was closed... so he had to drive further down to find a store that was open.

This was the intial swelling - it got much larger & ROUNDER :(

... her swelling went down in about an hour... not completely, but enough to where we knew it wasnt going to be an ER trip....

So it was a busy, fun, hectic, sweaty weekend.... I'll take more of them... especially if it involves 3 days!!!

Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Friday...
Before a LONG weekend
(Thank you Sweet Jesus!!!)
Let's frag...
*****

So much for Spring
Its going to be over 95 degrees here this weekend
& I've got a Family Session to photograph on Sunday
It was scheduled at 3:00 pm
Right when the sun could offically BAKE you
So we moved it up to 9:30 am
I can photoshop some shine off a face
...dripping sweat?  May be more difficult...

*****
Still in Smart Phone Heaven
I downloaded the apps for some games yesterday
My good ole faithful - Words with Friends
& a Word Search
& Bejeweled (Love to not blink for minutes at a time playing this)
& some sort of basketball shooting game
& Sudoku

Now, I can sit with someone & not listen to a word they're saying

Any games I GOTTA have?

*****

Finales - part 2
Dancing with the Stars:  SO happy Donald won.
I was rooting for Katherine
But just glad William didnt win.
I didnt want him to win because he was just hot
& while I loved Katherine, Mark has gotten a tad cocky
so loved in the end, Donald & Peta took it all

American Idol: PHILLIP PHILLIPS
If it wasnt going to be Colton, I'm glad it was PPJr
... & when he teared up at the end?
Forget it... I was blubbering
I know he's 20 yrs old, but when he walked off the stage to go to his parents -
he looked like a little boy
America got this season right!

Revenge: HOLY COW!
Now THAT's a finale
(dont want to give anything away if someone hasnt seen it)
But I totally cried (stupid surprise crazy ex)
& I totally gasped (she's not really dead, right?)
& said WHAT? (she's still alive?)
Confused?  Good... watch it - its a fantastic show!

*****
I cant find summer shirts I like ANYWHERE
t-shirts looks too frumpy
the prints looks too 'tropical' aka: STUPID
things are too low cut
I dont like sleeveless
My drawer is full of Old Navy T-shirts & I need to find something else
Any suggestions?

*****
Got the cutest running skirt the other day at Kohls
We walked out & the buzzer went off
The cashier just said, "you're fine" & sent me on

I went to put on the skirt this week
... the stupid security pin was still on the side of the skirt...
GREATTTTTTTT

*****
I love this idea... a shower rod on the OTHER SIDE of the shower
to hang baskets... get it off the surface of the tub
GENIUS

*****
Its been 3 months now since NO DIET COKE
... I kinda miss it...
but remember all the junk in it & wont drink it
... just miss the taste of something different

*****

Because we havent seen the Ridicously Photogenic Guy in awhile....

******

Spat of the week:  Whose the HOTTEST?
... & not hot as in the Ridicously Photogenic Guy
... or Hugh Jackman
... or in my case, Emma Stone ... I know, I look JUST like her... right?
Anyhoo...
I'm talking about whose the hottest in the sense of dripping sweat.
My AC in my car is broke... my compressor is out... lovely
Ricky's car he drives to work - it works, but it just takes a bit to cool down
So everyday, when I get home from work,
I'm literally nauseated from a 120 degree interior
But Ricky say's his car is hotter..
...something about the interior, the color of the car...
all kinds of scientific stuff
... that he has no background in science...
So its probably going to come down to see who can wring more sweat out of the back of their shirt at the end of the day

I'll wring the sweat out of my shirt...
Anything to win an spat

*****

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday
& a fantastic Memorial Weekend!!!!
Stay cool ... literally & figuratively :)
