Nailed It - Holiday Edition
This show has honestly been the highlight of some of my nights. Every single episode has me laughing till I had tears. I tried to use it like medicine & watch it in small doses so I could get some laughter a little bit each day. Bruno Walker adjusted
Bruno is a tiny little guy - so his walker has that space where we've had to insert a towel so he doesnt lean too far on one side to make the walker tilt. He was too big though for the small - so he was sort of like Goldilocks - just couldnt find the right fit We've been making due with this medium one. But Ricky took it out to the garage the other day & drilled some holes through the metal & made it where it fits him so much better on the sides. No towel even needed anymore. Makes me feel more confident in walking away a second if I have to. I keep an eye on him like a hawk ... but this may let me be able to walk in the kitchen for a drink now.
Service Project
Our women's group that we've been doing a book/bible study with - for Christmas, our awesome host put together a service project for us to do. She & her father take gift bags up to the Hospice nurses where her mother was on Christmas day each year - isn't that just the most thoughtful thing??? On days where people are tucked with their families celebrating, there are nurses taking care of families that are in horrible situations of loss. Bless them..... so our host had made some peppermint scrub for us to jar up & make some gift bags & put some cards with. It was so fun to sit & chat & to just think about these precious nurses. ... this really makes me want to find someone to serve on Christmas day myself now!
Day off Work
I didnt get to use one full week at work for vacation - so glad to sneak in one more day off for the year... I also get off tomorrow. It's so crazy at year end, I'm glad for 4 day weeks!!!
Mammogram scheduled
So glad to get my yearly mammogram scheduled on my day off at work so I didnt have to deal with leaving early or taking off during the day.
Shopping with mom
Mom & I have been getting in a shopping day in December for years. I missed last year with my surgery, so it was good to be able to adventure out again this year.
Mud safe
Ricky & I went to go let Baby out into the field this weekend & where it had been raining, we were both slipping & sliding in a huge mess. Even Cochese was slidding around. So we just left Baby in her area & I was just glad neither one of us broke anything. Ricky good a really big slide that could have really hurt his leg. We looked like we went through a war, but came out OK.
HSM momma
I think last week I mentioned one of my awesome HSM mommas who threw our Christmas get together - this year, I'm adding another momma on my list. She is a nutritionist & she spend nearly 2 hours on the phone talking with me about my iron deficiency. She was just full of so much information & just so on track with how I think about food/nutrition & natural thinking & being your own health advocate. I was so grateful for her spending her time helping me & she said that Acts of Service is her love language... I was the blessed recipient of this service.
2 Etsy Sales
I havent kept my Etsy store up to date basically all year long. I have so many items that I need to list.. & totally missed out on the Christmas crowd. Oh well, Cant change that now. But so thankful that I still had 2 sales last week. One of something on my site & one that was a special order. It's revived my excitement for my store. BRING ON THE KNITTING!
Here we are again - another month of digging into my planner.
I mentioned it last month.... but I made the switch.
I've been an Erin Condren gal for years. Even with that, I've done all sorts of planners. I had a Kate Spade one for a year. I did the MyAgenda for 2 years.
There's something special about each of these & I didnt hate any of them really. But I never really knew about The Happy Planner & everything you COULD do with this one.
I always just went into the aisles at Michaels or Hobby Lobby just to look at stickers. I never paid attention to the planners - just kept my focus on the stickers. Actually, the planners looked odd to me with these big chunky rings. & all the different sort of planners. It was a little overwhelming to me, so grab stickers & go - that's how I did it for years.

BUT THEN... I know you've heard me talk many a time about my work sister Liz - who is also a huge planner. She has used many different kinds too. Ordered a few different ones & just wasn't happy with them & said she was going back to the Happy Planners.
She showed me all that you can do with it. I was shocked... & now I'm hooked.
The coolest thing about these babies is how you can create a planner exactly how you want. You can take pages & insert them. You can take pages out. I especially love that when I'm writing on or decrating pages. You dont have to worry about the middle discs.

You can purchase expander rings for bigger planners where you've just created your own masterpiece that holds everything.
& Everything is what Happy Planner is all about.
They have planners for every sort of planning you would want. The way you want it to look to - whether that be horizontal, vertical, dashboard layouts. So many different ones.
Then they have specialty planners - like for budget, for wellness, recipes & my favorite - the Faith planners!!!
They base their Faith planners off of the SOAP ... Scripture - Observation - Application - Pray... & they are so beautiful with gorgeous scripture dividers. They really are something you want to get into every day, helping me to remember to dig into my Bible.... I'm actually going to combine this with my monthly planner & I can interchange the covers. SO MUCH TO DO IN THIS PLANNER!!!
I'm really not a spokesperson for Happy Planner - nothing was given to me (Lord, I wish!!) or anything like that... just talking about why I made the change.
I'll probably show some more as we get into future posts on what I've added to my planner & how its coming together...
so lets dig into my November... & see how my first month in my Happy Planner went.

Actually, I bought another planner but then wanted a more neutral calendar inside so Liz found one for me in a planner Facebook group that I bought & someone shipped to me.
My November pages are actually guts from a planner Liz had given to me to try out... I started using the guts from the above planner in December. & because again, you can just add in or take out of your planner, I just popped November into this baby & off I went...
Week 1 in November
I really like how the stickers fit the boxes perfect.
I used them in my Erin Condren & they did OK... but this? Perfect!!
Week 2 in November
I also use a mix of stickers... & of course, my Faith stickers are always a favorite...

& of course, you can see next to the sticker, I even wrote in a thought from my devotional, Embraces. Stickers... lettering... love it all.
Week 3 of November
I especially loved this week's BIG Pumpkin Spice Everything Sticker & that wreath sticker. Perfect for Fall.

Week 4 of November
That week was so busy with shopping & not a lot on the calendar, so I just used up a lot of my Fall sticker book beauties to fill in some space.
You never are too old to play with stickers.
& just to show you what else I've added into my planner...
I've taken some of their notebook paper, for this, their Grid notebook paper, that Happy Planner makes & made my own Health Habit Tracker. I have done this for years. It helps me keep track of issues I'm having & when they happen..... of course, this is a little personal so I blocked out the categories, but you can see how it works.
Like one of these are headaches, nose bleeds, earaches.. one is Liquid Iron if I took it for the day - that sort of thing
& then I took my own graph paper & used the hole punch that you can get to put ANYTHING in your planner.. & I made my own Fitness tracker page. My exercise, steps, my workout heart rate, calories burned, daily heart rate... all info in thanks to my Garmin watch...
But I love keeping track of this sort of things. & I get to put a new page in front of every month... or put them together in the back of the planner... HOWEVER I WANT... LOVE IT

We start family celebrations this coming weekend so its time to buckle down & get this party started.
I really got it started when I was off work on Friday.
Friday Off Work Happy Face!!
I had scheduled my yearly mammogram & me & my mom were planning on going shopping so she came with me to my appointment & it went fast & not so painless. I always hold my breath until I get the ALL CLEAR on these things ever since they found that little area in one of my breasts. The tech told me if I didnt get a phone call by Monday, then its probably all clear... so I'm just starting at my phone right now praying for it NOT to ring. Wanna lift up a prayer with me? Thanks.
But mom & I shopped for quite a few hours - enough to make my feet hurt & get her hip hurting... & then we went to fuel back up. She's all about pasta so I took her to Rapid Fire so she could make her own pasta dish. She had never been there before & she loved it.
Saturday, Ricky & I sort of waited to see what the weather was going to do because we had to let Baby out but we had seen on the radar that rain was going to come. So we were planning on letting it flow through before we let her out....
I spent that time getting my planner ready for the week....
& started watching Unbelievable on Netflix... loving it so far. About 3 episodes in.
We finally headed over to let the horses out & neither one of us remembered boots.... & let me remind you that it's been raining basically all week. Mud wrestling anyone? Both of us were just stomping through the mud & it was AWFUL. Cochese was slipping & sliding so when Ricky slid enough to get his leg in the mud, we said, nooooope, we're not letting little Baby run through this stuff. She's got a big area in the barn though so she's fine... we just had to clean it up & feed them & get the guilt eyes from that cutie girl.
We were such a mess, we had to stop at the store to get some Clorax wipes for our shoes & for Ricky's pants & some paper towel. My new car is now christened with YUCK. I gotta stop today on the way home to vacuum it out. Ew.
We spent the rest of the night shopping. I got so many people marked off my shopping list. Good bye money. Nice knowing you.
After that kind of day, on the way home, Ricky told me to pull into Krispy Kreme... I dont have to think twice. We got a dozen chocolate glazed donuts! YASSSSS. That's a treat after a long day on our feet.
I ate 2 on the way home - Ricky ate 3... so we were both virtually ready to throw up by the time we pulled into our drive way. #sugarrush
No wonder I couldnt fall asleep till super late....
Sunday, it was church time. But I wanted to give Baby one last time to get our & run. I remembered the boots this time & took my time & got Cochese in the big field & Baby got to run free most of the day.
Ricky did save one donut for me for Breakfast... he ate the other 6 for his morning treat
Church was lovely as we had our last service in HSM for the year. CHRISTMAS BREAK YO!
I ran to get a few more gifts after (bye rest of my money!) & picked up some lunch for Ricky & I & some for my momma...
Sunday called for braids & heavy coats
The rest of the night just flew by. Sunday's do that, dont they? It's just not fair.
But I did start on Christmas wrapping - so there's progress in my Christmas life. I literally do not have one present under the tree still though. I've got boxes sitting in my living room & organizing on where presents go, which home they will travel to, & keeping them all boxed up so when we go somewhere, we just grab the box & load up. Functional - Yes.... Pinterest pretty - no way. But I dont think I've ever been Pinterest pretty in 99.9% of my life. That 0.1% is the hot second that my home is clean & no one breaths.... Then its over.
So here we go... last full week before the Holidays - are you ready? When do you start with Family celebrations? Did you get your mammogram this year? What's your favorite Krispy Kreme donut?
I've been on a roll of ugly sweaters every week - so many great ones.
