I got these for Ricky for Christmas as sort of a joke - he's obsessed with anything light & flashlights
.. but joke is on me because these are AWESOME!!!!!
They are so fantastic to put in a small closet - or a hallway closet.
& perfect to go under the stairs where totes are stored... any small place.
& these things put out the LIGHT!!!
Ricky even put one next to the bed so when Ernie is whining, he can turn it on & it puts off enough light in the dark for him to see Ernie OK.

This week I'm Thankful For

906  / Coloring Book at work
I got back to work after Christmas & find an adult coloring book on my desk from the firm.  They sent out an email talking about the effects of stress during the holidays & starting a new year & the helpful technique of coloring.  They even gave us a little pack of colored pencils - how cute is that????

908 / Coworkers gift
How nice is this?  We get back from the holidays & a coworker brought in like 5 pastry rings from Panera for everyone to snack on & then handed out these bags full of candy & difference scents of Bath & Bodyworks lotions.  So kind & thoughtful!

910 / Lunch with my love... in the freezing temps!!!
So y'all know I do my lunch with Ricky every Wednesday - & now I walk down there.  & it was a challenge to walk the 3.5 blocks when it was 15 degrees last Wednesday. BRRRR... I actually was OK from the hips up - but man, my legs felt like they were frozen under my pants.  I told Ricky it was pure love that got me there :) haha... & doofus - he can drive - always does - & for some reason, that freezing day, he ran instead of drove.  Maybe he wanted to suffer along with me.

911 / Panera in building
The temps last week were HORRID... single digits.  It is SOOOO nice to have a Panera in the building. We dont even have to walk outside... & even better, you can schedule it online for the time you want it & just walk down & pick it up & come right back up to the comfort of work.  SO NICE!!!! I'll be using Panera UP during the bad winter days... & probably some horrid summer ones too.

914 / Birthday decorations.
I honestly was shocked walking into work on the day before my birthday & seeing my desk all decorated up.  My birthday was on Saturday so I honestly didnt think anything special would happen - plus, we already had birthday bagels.  This made me smile the biggest smile all day long ... & everyone walking by my desk made sure to wish me a happy birthday. Even the people in the finance departments at our branches all emailed me birthday wishes. It just was so overwhelming.

915 / Ernie next puppy appointment.
Growing fast & a healthy boy.  He's now up to 12.8 lbs... when we got him, he was just barely 7 lbs.  He's growing SO FAST I cant hardly handle it. The vet just brags about how cute he is & kisses his face off every time she sees him. She's just the best vet!

916 / Made it 46 years around the sun!!!!
Praise the Lord!

917 / Birthday being on a Saturday.
I got to make cinnamon rolls for breakfast, drink 2 cups of coffee, relax, get a fun Belle surprise from Ricky... it was a wonderful morning to celebrate

918 / My parents.
How cute are my momma & daddy?  My dad took his time & made me this orange cake & my mom gave me a ring for my birthday that I've been wanting for months.  They made my day so much more special

(I've always loved big Onyx rings my whole life & love big bulky rings... always have)

920 / Framily Christmas.
We always love spending time with Ryan & Chasity & doing our Christmas with them.  We just have a good relaxed time of eating, chatting, laughing - lots of laughing - & usually game playing.... though we didnt get to get in any games because we just talked too long this year - not a bad thing.  We just adore this family.

921 / Belle Disney Ears.
So Emerson got these ears for Christmas & she's obsessed - never wants to take them off.  I saw them &kept teasing that I was going to take them.  So it was so precious when we got to their house on my birthday & she got her ears & told her I could wear them all night long since it was my special day.  & even throughout the night, she told me, "You can take them home if you want"... which her parents were SHOCKED since she basically wants to live in them.  I said, "We just get each other on a Belle level is all" & Emerson looked at me & winked back at me when I said that & I think my heart just busted with cute overload.

922 / Sweet Birthday card/surprise.
We got home on my birthday around 11:30 & stopped at the mailbox & in it, a birthday card for me from my precious Florida friend Nathalie... I told her it was perfect timing - just a half hour left in the day for my birthday.  How DANG THOUGHTFUL was that?  & I love when people know me well enough to feed into me my Starbucks obsession.

923 / Lazy Day
There really is nothing like a break after the holidays where you can just stay in jammies, in a warm house, & love on dogs & watch Netflix.

924 / Starbucks rewards!
I loved that I had 2 rewards & Ricky was all about driving down to redeem them.  We both got venti's & it was over $13.00 for these... & we made them last 2 days. We each drank half on NYE & warmed up the other half the next morning. Totally worth the drive.
BTW - I got the new Black & White Mocha... YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

927 / Made it to Midnight!!!
Look at me being up to ring in 2018... even though I missed it & was watching a movie.  I still was awake.  There's usually fireworks & gun shots fired... nothing this year. It was like negative temps... everyone was like, forget that!

& that wraps it up for Thankfulness for 2017...

One Sentence a Day - December 2017 Edition

We made it through 2017...

& I'm so glad I have done this for another year - able to look back & see how my year has treated me in a fast & simple way.

It's crazy what one little sentence can bring up in memories.  But it totally can.

I love someone actually took this & ran with it for a link up & now, so many other people are doing it as well.  It's fun seeing other's lives in just a sentence a day.

So if you havent tried it yet - do it...

start a draft post & just stop in every day & add a sentence about your day before... simple... & easy... & you'll love having it at the end of 2018 - I guarantee it! 

& really, if you're not a blogger, you can totally do it with a little cheap calendar you can grab at Target or even the Dollar Store.  

Just throwing that out there...

Now, here we go - the last month of the year.... one sentence at a time.

1.  I never wanted more in my life to get home from my job then to get home to a new puppy. #thinkingaboutourbabyalldaylong

2.  So glad it was a beautiful day to let the new puppy & Harvey Dent play outside & bond together. #brothers

3.  Got to take some of my MSM girls to serve in a living facility to paint nails of some beautiful & incredible ladies. #metaprecious105yearold

4.  Took Ernie for his first vet check up & found out he's a healthy boy & took our old man back & found out he's doing so much better himself. #happyforgoodreports

5.  Why did I think it was Monday all day? #itstuesday

6.  I'm so not ready for the cold snap coming our way. #itscoldtakingpuppiesoutside

7.  I was so exhausted all day, I drank 2 cups of coffee & 3 cups of tea. #cantwakeup

8.  I honestly think its nearly impossible to do my grocery shopping & get out of paying under $100. #soexpensivetoeathealthy

9.  Went to our first Christmas party when Ricky's cousin had everyone over to see one another. #lovemyvincentfamily

10.  We had our last Joy group for the year & sad that its going to be a few weeks without my Joysters #lovemyfriends

11.  I could hardly keep my eyes open all day long & its rough when all I want to do is sleep but have to be on puppy watch so Ricky can go to bed early since he gets up with Ernie at 3:30am #gooddoggiedaddy

12. Got celebrated at work for my birthday after being there 3 weeks when its something my other work didnt do in all my 25 years there. #icriedoverabagel

13. So glad my niece only had to spend one night in the hospital & is safely back home. #juvenilediabetes

14. Made it out of work the fastest ever with hitting every cross walk & every green light all the way home. #bestdayever

15. Went to my work's first Christmas lunch & it was super nice & fun & I even got my picture taken with the CFO of the company. #howdidthathappen?

16.  Got to meet my dad's newest baby in his family #ernieisnttheonlyone

17.  The annual Vincent Christmas get together. #lovemyinlaws

18.  Took Ernie back for his last worming treatment & found out he's up to 10.5 lbs. #growingsofast

19.  Soaking up every last warm day we're getting right now. #cantitstayinthe50suntilspring?

20.  Got some devastating news about Ricky's uncle that left us just broken hearted. #cancersucks

21.  We've had 2 retirement parties this week, one Christmas lunch last week & today was yet another Christmas celebration on our floor. #alltheparties

22. I can't believe I've been at my job for a month & already have PTO time to take & get off early to Christmas shop. #needmoretime

23.  While getting my hair done, we watched the BIGGEST snow flakes falling. #makesitlooklikechristmas

24.  Got to celebrate the hubs birthday with our youngest who was in town. #suchatreat

25.  We actually had a white Christmas this year! #happybirthdayjesus

26.  Working the day after Christmas is nothing but pure torture. #downtownwasempty

27.  Realizing how badly I need a REAL winter coat walking downtown in 8 degree temps. #mylegswerefrozen

28.  Ernie may be a Australian Shepherd but in his heart, I think he has a soul of a yipping little dog. #wontstopyipping

29. So surprised to walk in work & see my desk all decorated up for my birthday. #neverhappenedatmyotherjob

30. Got to celebrate my 46th birthday with my family & celebrated Christmas with our framily & so sad we missed a wedding on this day too. #somuchtocramin  #happyforanotheryear


31.  It was so frigid cold we didnt want to even leave the house, but we had to run out to claim TWO Starbucks rewards that expired at midnight. #priorities  #endtheyearright

So there we go.... another year behind... onward & upward to 2018!!!

The weekend I turned another year older & we turned the calendar over....

Another long weekend....I could so get used to that.

That's what's so awful about having these back to back... getting in routine is just awful & hard.

5 day work weeks are for the birds.

So did everyone celebrate the New Years?

I did make it to midnight! YAHOOO... the hubs didn't though. He was asleep I think by 8pm. He doesnt stay up late.  & to give him credit, he is up like every 2 hours with a puppy & a blind dog... so he's kinda exhausted all the time now.

Not only did I celebrate the New Years by loving on 3 boys.... Harvey, Ernie & Bruno... Zoe was tucked in her bed in the other room... but I watched Bridget Jones Baby & totally missed the ball drop & had no idea when midnight actually hit.  Oops.

We also got to celebrate another Christmas with our framily & our grandbuddies.

& we even got to do that on my birthday.  Yep... I turned a year older this weekend.

Something that is kinda MEH because yeah, more wrinkles & gray hair & just all the effects of aging... but PRAISE THE LORD because its another year of life ... & life is so valuable & precious & something to cherish so I'm thankful for another year....

So on my birthday, we ran over to see my parents, where my dad made me a homemade dreamscile cake - how cute is that?

& then we were going to head to a wedding, but it was so far out of our way & we ended up getting a late start & had to be back at our friends house, so we had to make the hard call to skip the wedding. I hated it sooo much... it's just hard to get everything in.  I didnt even get to get my birthday dinner in where I get to pick the place we eat... my only chance to make Ricky eat at some place different.

I did get a sweet birthday song from our grandbuddy & my sweet friends got a cheesecake for us to celebrate with.... I really am blessed to have such amazing people in my life that I get to spend my birthday with.

It was so dang cold this weekend... like zero degrees during the day & below zero at night. Not fun when you have to carry a blind dog outside & wait for him to pee & bring him back in.... BRRRRRRRRRRR.... so on New Years Day, we just made the call to stay home & not leave the house in the cold.

I'm so glad we did that.

I got my Amazon Echo hooked up - FINALLLLYYYY
I got my Christmas stuff all put up.
I did so many loads of laundry, it's kinda ridiculous.
I got some photo editing done.

We got to love on some dogs (they're going to be even sadder that work is back to its regular schedule)

I ordered my first order for Kroger Click it where I can just pick up my groceries at the door. I'm so anxious to see how this works.
I made some crock pot chili.
I watched so much Netflix.... Finished Fuller House, watched Bridget Jones Baby, watched some corny Netflix original Christmas movie (something Christmas Inheritance???) watched most of a Series of Unfortunate Events. I would have finished watching that, but our connection got messed up & I couldnt get anything on Netflix to load anymore.  Sigh...

What I didnt do - any knitting. SHOCKING - I know!!!

But it was a great weekend ... ringing in a new year & getting another year of life behind me.  No complaints.
