Surgeon

OK - that was just crazy! You've all heard about my leg & the Slip N Slide accident I had about 8 weeks ago. Its still been bothering me - getting worse every day - so my family doc sent me to an orthopedic surgeon. I was anxious as to what he was going to say or do. I get there & he props my leg up & starts poking. Whimpers & "OUCH"'s are coming from me & then he tells me what it is. Apparently the bruising & the blood built up caused it to "gel like jelly" - (Gagging now) & my body wouldnt absorb it - & its getting harder each & every day. He said I could just let it go & my body would eventually absorb it but it would probably take 6 months for that to happen - all the while, having the pain come along with it. OR - I could just let him cut it open & clean it & drain it - RIGHT THERE!!!! WHAT? My immediate reaction - I'll wait the 6 months - but then I remember how bad it hurts & whats a little bit of pain compared to a half of a year. The doctor's concern was scarring & if it bothered me - what's a scar but a life story so I told him that didn't bother me & then told him - "Let's do it"

I never knew surgeons could do this - but next thing I know - I'm in a room in the office that is prepped for minor surgical procedures! And I call it a surgical procedure because there was a scapel involved & he cut my leg open right there! Alot of stinging, pushing & pain but he said everything looked good afterwards. He said it'll take just about 2 weeks for it to heal - which is MUCH better than 6 months. And its packed up & I have to pull that out tomorrow (that will make me gag too) but then I'm on the way to getting back to normal - FINALLY!!!
I had asked him if I could look up & over at it while he was doing it - he said, "I RECOMMEND you don't" - UGH - maybe I didn't want to see the inside of my leg afterall!

So tonight - I've got the leg propped up & ready to get it completely healed! Praise the Lord!!! And I just want to say thanks to all my friends who have called & prayed with me & offered help & concern - nothing else is as special as that! I love you guys!!!!

Butterfly Man

So have you seen the new Batman yet? I really enjoyed it & didnt even realize the length of the movie while I was in the theater - the time just goes by so quickly because you're in the story so much. I know some people are just in love with this movie - I aint saying any names (JOE!) but it really is a good movie. So I found this video this morning - could this be the next big thing?

Sleepy boy

Julie sent me this video this morning - so I got to start off my morning with a smile! Tell me - isn't he the most gorgeous baby in the world?

Rock the Reception

I have a new favorite show! Rock the Reception! - its on TLC which is the best channel. The idea is an engaged couple gets the choreographers, Tabitha & Napoleon, to show them an amazing routine to a song for their first dance & then they surprise everyone at their wedding reception with a fantastic performance! Its just so fun because the expression on the guests faces says it all! But if I had my dream job - it would be a wedding coordinator & put that along with dancing - how can I NOT like this show? Oh - if this was popular LONG ago when I got married - I SOOOO would have done it. Don't know how Ricky would have felt about it, but I bet if it involved roller skates - he would be up for it!

Here's a sample of the dance & just look at everyone's faces - that's what makes it all so fun!

Perfect

I had to go to the dentist this morning & even though he's my cousin, I still get so nervous being there. Just hearing drills roaring while you're in the waiting room - my stomach was doing flips. So to calm my nerves a bit, I brought my Bible with me & was reading it. I opened up to the story of the rich man who was talking to Jesus & asking what good things he must do to get into Heaven. Jesus tells him to obey the commandments & his response is "which ones?". He felt like he was still lacking something & Jesus answered him,

"If you want to be perfect, go sell your possessions & give to the poor & you will have treasure in Heaven. Then come, follow me" -Matthew 19:21

The word that struck me was PERFECT! If you want to be perfect.....That's a huge word. Well, I looked into it when I got back from the dentist & its actually a Greek word for "a goal, or an end". This man's goal was eternal life but his love for money & his lack of commitment to follow Christ is what was keeping him from being "perfect" or from reaching his goal.

And the cool thing for me is Jesus KNEW what was holding this man back - for someone else to ask that question to Jesus - it would have probably been a different answer on what to do - but I think it would have started the same "if you want to be perfect" & probably finished the same "then come, follow me" - so what's in the middle for you? What's holding you back from being perfect? From getting closer to that goal of laying down everything to follow Christ?

And speaking of perfect - can I just show you a new picture of Isaac that I just got - this just put the best smile on my face.......to Nanny & Pappy - he's perfect!!!

Another sock

To close out the week, I've got good news - I finished another pair of socks!!!! This was the first time I worked with the yarn Tofutsies & I really liked it. For those of you that aren't familiar with this - it has fiber from shrimp & crab shells to make it a natural antibacterial material! Isn't that nuts??? Who had the mind to sit & think, "Hmmmm, here's some shells laying around - lets ground it up & put it into some wool fiber! Thats a brillant idea!"....I dont know who thought of it - but I bet their millionaires now!

I got this pattern off of Knitty - Spring Forward. I wish the pattern would have come out better with this yarn - but you cant really see it as well. But that's OK because now I have this pattern down & can do it with some more yarn - I think on a solid color - it would look AWESOME!

The other project I'm working on - the Hemlock Ring Blanket! I've seen in on the boards & Ravelry so much lately & have taken a stap at it - and I am LOVING it! Its such a fun knit & its turning out so beautiful. I was going to take pictures but because its on circular needles you cant really see what its looking like. So you'll see the finished product - which hopefully wont be too long. I probably would have had it done this week, but the AC has been broke in our house all week long & having a wool blanket drapped across your lap when air isn't flowing - not fun - so I've been working on something lighter - another pair of socks - something that doesnt have to touch me right now when its hot! And the best thing about the blanket - I got me a pair of Addi's - 10.5 that are the 47" long circulars - I LOVE THESE NEEDLES! I know they can be costly - but man, aren't Addi's so worth it? It makes me want to trade in ALL my other needles to just invest in Addi's! Ahhh - the love & investments of knitting!

Happy Birthday Daddy-o!

I have to give a shout out to my dad! Today is his birthday!!!!! What did he do so far on his birthday - he told me he went & got his horse some new shoes! There's a horse lover for you! But some of you have heard me talk about my dad in lessons or just in conversation - my dad is awesome! I was thinking of some things that I remember about him.

*He was a great example of a Christian father - I watched him serve as a Deacon in the Baptist church for most of my growing up years!

*He's the one we call - even today - if something is broke & we need to know what to do

*He's the one who gets excited when he sees his daughter has knitted an actual sock!!!

*He's the one who taught me to love storms & sit out in the middle of them - wanting it to get windier & rain harder!

*He's the one who loves little kids & can entertain them for hours with things just out in nature

*He's the one who took me up to a little town of Dale, Indiana - where he grew up - each year & showed me what a real small town was!

*He's the one who would trade any of his children in for more horses!!!! Just kidding - well, maybe he would trade my brother - JOKING!

*He's a true cowboy who does AMAZING things with horses! You'd really be jaw-dropped on some things!

*He's the one who would make some "special bread" for me for breakfast every weekend when I was little - or drive down to get donut holes on Sunday before church!

I could say SO many things - my dad is just awesome! And yeah, can you tell - no matter how old a girl can get - she can always be her daddy's girl!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! I LOVE YOU!!!!!

Sin

Last night during our Youth Group lesson - Joe talked on a great lesson - SIN! Now, you can take that as a very BROAD topic but the point he was getting to came from Romans 13:11-14 & how we are alseep to alot of the sins in our lives. Oh - its easy to point out the BIG SINS - murder, adultery, rape, abortions - things that WE consider to be big things! But then, we close our eyes to the small sins in our lives - the pride, jealousy, anger, greed, lust - things that we just get use to. But does God look at any of the sins differently? Or are they all just sin to him - something that seperates us from Him? So is one better or worse than the other?

I just saw a book out that I wanted to get & even would like to do it in a group Bible Study - but its called "Respectable Sins: Confronting the Sins we Tolerate" & it touches on this exact thing. The discussion last night has really got me wanting to get this book now! But what was so neat - some of the kids brought up things that they are just getting "use" to - sins that they are struggling with - it was awesome to hear their thoughts! And it shows that there is no age limit on this problem too! We all have sin in our lives - our sin is not any worse or better than our neighbor or someone you may even see on TV. Look at it through God's eyes - we're all sinners in need of a Savior!

It also takes me to the point of judging someone for their sin - remember the Bible says in Matthew 7:1-2 "Do not judge, or you too wil lbe judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged & with the measure you use, it will be measured to you" - that alone makes me not want to think anyone else's sins are worse than mine!!!

I think God just wants to help us & for us to help each others through whatever struggles sin throws at us! How can we help each other if we're too busy pointing fingers?

Life Lessons - Part 2

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile! I'll shout an AMEN to that! But I do know quite a few number of people who don't care for chocolate or even sweets that much. What's wrong with these people?

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present. WOW - there's a whole lesson in just that sentence - isn't there? You can't change the past anyways, can you? So it is a sad thing to let it ruin your present or even your future.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry. I think its so funny how people try to hide emotions that they go through. What's wrong with letting people, especially your children, know how you are feeling? I feel like it only makes your child feel more free to tell the parent their emotions then too!

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. I've had this conversation with friends alot. You may see people around you that seems like their life is all put together & are living story book lives - but you have to remember, there is something going on in their lives, even if we don't see it - & it may be something that we would NEVER want to deal with. Something we would never trade our life for that perfect, story book life. Remember that next time you see that "perfect family" or "perfect person" - no one gets through life without struggles!

14. If a relationship has to be a secret - you shouldn't be in it! Simple statement that holds tons of truth!

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry - God never blinks! I love this because it's so comforting. I think of my friend Erica & how her step father just passed away one day just working - just an ordinary day & then in a blink of an eye - he was gone! Or ever sat at a stop light & see an accident happen? Just in a blink, those people's lives are changed - it doesn't take much or alot of time to throw your life in a whole different direction. But God is the steady point in everything because He is the same yesterday, today & tomorrow! What a thing to lean on when your life does get thrown for a loop in those split second events!

16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind. ....sometimes, doesn't it feel like you're going to hyper-ventilate from too many deep breaths? At least if your pass out - your mind will be calm - right?

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful! Another way to look at it - anything that brings you down or doesn't give you joy in your life - get rid of it!

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger! I have heard this all my life & still believe it - especially in moments of Jazzercise when I feel like I can't do another butt squat! Maybe not the way it should be taken - but it works in that situation too!

Life Lessons - Part 1

I got the coolest email from a friend who lives in New Jersey - it had on it 45 "Life Lessons" that a news reporter wrote an article about that she has learned over her many years of talking with people & hearing their stories. Some of these were awesome points & I just wanted to touch on a few of them. You know me though - I have an opinion on everything so a few of these thoughts, I figured I'd just throw my 2 cents worth in as well - so this may end up turning into a few "parts" through the week. And truthfully, with everything that is going on in my life right now - doctor's visits, insurance issues, health problems, air conditioning bombing in the house, blah, blah, blah - I could use some good life lessons myself right now to focus on!

1. Life isn't fair - but its still good! Oh man - think about how true that is - especially for those that live in the good ole USA! To hear the stories of our mission teams & the things they see & experience - WOW! Yeah, life may not be fair in ALOT of areas - but how good do we have it!

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. I love this because I'm one of those people who forget about the next step - I'm too busy looking ahead at the 57th step ahead - trying to look into that crystal ball of sorts & figuring things out myself! And the thing I've learned - it never turns out that way anyways - so why waste the time & energy of worrying about things we have no idea on how their going to turn out. Just take the next small step - & then the next & then the next.....must easier!

3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. God doesn't call us to that anyways - does He? Hate is such a "draining" emotion where Love is such a better feeling!

4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does!

5. Pay off your credit cards every month! Dave Ramsey would love that point, wouldn't he? We have told our kiddos from the time they were little that credit cards were from the Devil! Who knew little pieces of plastic could make life to difficult for so many!

6. You dont have to win every argument. Agree to disagree! ......... I need to remind Ricky of this point! I'm always right anyways (hehe!)

7. Cry with someone. Its more healing than crying alone. Oh, how I thank my friends & their shoulders for crying on! When you cry with a friend - don't they have thoughts & wisdom that you just would never to be able to find on your own at that moment? Friends are the best to cry with also because it usually turns to laughter!

8. Its OK to get angry with God. He can take it! Enough said!

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck! Have you ever seen the stastics of what your savings would be if you started as a teenager? (Another Dave Ramsey lesson here) - tells those young un's in your life to get on it!

Just a few for today.....more tomorrow!

Happy Anniversary!

Today, I just wanted to take a minute & wish my mom & dad a Happy Anniversary! Today, they've been married for 44 years!!!! Yep - 44 years! That's a LONG time! My parents are awesome people & I'm so blessed that I have both of my parents still with me & they're still together after all these years!

I need to get a picture from their wedding album. I used to look at it all the time when I was young. Seeing all the pictures in black & white & just the faces of a young mom & dad - it was always a wonder to look at those pictures. I wish they were in color so I could see it better in all its "blue-ness".

The cool thing - my mom & dad's serving knife that they cut their cake with on their wedding day - Ricky & I used the same knife on our wedding day. We ended up getting it engraved with their name on one side & their wedding date & on the other side, our names & our wedding date - it was a very cool thing to have on our own day!

So - congratulations mom & dad on being together for 44 years & being the best parents anyone could ask for! I love you!

At the Hop

Vacation Bible School is in full swing at our church & its been the most fun I've had in a long time! I, along with my buddy Erica, are the crew leaders for the 5th grade class. These kids are fantastic! They want to put off the attitude that they're too old for this stuff, but I think are group is having the most fun! I know I am - & (ahem) I'm a little older than they are. Age hasn't & will never stop me from having fun!!!!!

And its so cool - there are tons of youth that are helping out all over VBS! From working in the games, to doing skits in lessons, to helping serve food, to helping the crew leaders & working one on one with the kids - these youth kids are stepping up! It just makes me so proud! And these kids are such good examples to these smaller kids - I love it!

The most important part of VBS is teaching these kids about God - & they are learning! From getting Bible points each night, to learning Bible verses & seeing some great lessons throughout the night - I think the kids are really learning. This year, we're discussing the story of Moses & also watching parts of "Prince of Egypt" - it blows me away that alot of kids have never seen it - but I forget - most of them weren't even alive when it came out. I can remember watching it at the theater & being so excited about it. But the kids get to really experience it - its just too much fun! I'm praying that each one of the kids take something away from this week! Something that they hold onto for the rest of their lives!

And I had to attach a video from last night - the game that is most loved with our kids - TRASH BASH! Yes - these are kids in garbage cans running into each other - who says fun has to be expensive & "gadgety"?

Failure

God is so funny about putting things at you all at once - isn't he? For me - I've gotten hit with messages about "failures" lately & how we learn from them. It started in the oddest place! I finally got to watch "Batman Begins" - I can't believe I hadn't seen it yet but with the new movie of "The Dark Knight" coming out, I had to catch up. Ricky had gone to see it at the theaters one year I was at Women of Faith & I just never got around to watching it. So I'm watching it & I'm the sort of person who loves quotes. Some of them really are great lines & thoughts that get me thinking. Well, in the movie - if you remember, Bruce Wayne's dad told him this & then later, Geeves, the butler - "Why does one fall? So that we may learn to pick ourselves up" - I thought that was too cool! My Christian mind made me think though that we don't necessarily learn to pick up ourselves, but we learn that we can rely on God to help pick us back up.

Then this morning, I get an email from the awesome group at Swerve - & the topic? Failure. They are going to be sending out thoughts on three types of Failures - the failure to try, the failure to execute & the failure to succeed. Guilty of all three actually - but its showing how failure is a requirement - not an option with being human.

Then the question came at the end - "What has been your experience with failure? How has it changed your life? Or has it?"

I cant see how failure can NOT change your life! Don't we learn from every failure - whether it be a good or bad lesson? Failure is hard, even if we do learn an amazing lesson from it because its usually a lost opportunity. I'm just so thankful that God gives us chance after chance after each failure in my life. Where would hope be if we didn't have God with us when we fail?

Psalm 73:26 "My flesh & my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart & my portion forever"

So - have you learned from your failures?

Dance Party USA

I have been cracking up finding old videos of "Dance Party USA"!!! Does anyone else in the world remember this show? It use to come on in the late 80's & every day after school, I would turn it on. It was my generation's "Bandstand". I couldn't miss it! There were regulars on there that you just had to see - who was dating who - what are they wearing - & oh boy - wait till you see what they were wearing! I'm reminded looking back at these videos that a few things were so cool:

*Acid Wash Denim (with the legs pegged so tight around the ankle)
*Banana Clips for that glorious hair sprayed hair
*Bangs & hair teased so high you can see through the top layers
*Head bands ala Olivia Newton-John's "Physical" style
*Half shirts! Yes, they made them like that -I remember, shorter in the front with longer tails in the back (Why????)
*Huge earrings - (my ear lopes are still damaged from those things! - seriously)
*Bow clips

And the regulars - man, looking back at these videos - I can remember them. There was one girl who was named "Princess" - who was the biggest Prince fan & every time she would dance, she'd have to kick her leg up! I wonder if she still is a Prince Fan......

There is also the regular, Bobby, who was the STUD of the show! He would wear sun glasses & work out gloves & would NEVER take them off! I think one Valentine's special - he had a solo dance & at the end, he took his glasses off for like 5 seconds - it was like the EVENT of the season!!!! He always reminded me of Kirk Cameron. I wonder where he's at in life now - does he still sport the shades?

And the most famous regular - Kelly Ripa! You can find all kinds of videos with her & her big hair on the show! How funny! I can actually remember her from watching it years ago! Oh - it was my dream to be on that show! Now, looking back - WOW, I'm so glad I wasn't on it - no proof that I ever looked like that! (I did almost find my pictures to post of my Kid-n-Play glasses with big blond hair & black & white polka dot "fly girl" dancing shirt ---- oh, I was COOL!)

Check out the video - first, notice how awesome & technical the opening scene was! And Yes, that's Kelly Ripa in the front with the red sequin band around her arm!

Biblical Thought for the Day

During the lesson yesterday with our youth group, I saw a scripture in a new light that I never noticed before. (Don't you LOVE when that happens?) The scripture I saw was in John. It comes where people were asking Jesus, "Who do you think you are?" (John 8:53) - he is trying to tell them who he is & they instantly considered it to be blasphemy. The scripture that really hit me is:

John 8:59 "At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the templed grounds"

Then - you go a little further & you see in John 10 that Jesus is questioned again & like the first time, they are angry & say in John 10:33 "We are not stoning you for any of these, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God". Jesus tried yet again to explain things to them but look what happens:

John 10: 39 "Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp"

Can you imagine what that looked like? I can't picture Jesus just stooping down - hiding in that sense. And I REALLY can't see Jesus running like he was afraid of these men. What did it look like? Was it a supernatural thing that happened. Did he blind their eyes? Do you know how angry that had to make people that were trying to kill him that he kept "getting away" & then continued to keep saying the same things!

But I couldn't wait to show Ricky these verses when I got home from church. With him being a superhero freak & he considers Jesus the greatest Super Hero in the world - I knew he'd love this too! Just shows the power & awe that Jesus held!

How amazing is our Savior?

Fun!

Are you wondering what the heck this is? I meant to post it when it happened. Ricky & I were out eating with Lindsay Kay at WW Cousins (MMMMM) & I looked down at my pickle. I said "I cant eat this - its a heart!" - well, leave it to Lindsay to let her artist side out - she took it & got ketchup & proceeded to make the arrow go through it. How funny is that!? We just like to have fun no matter where we're at!
The funnest part of the whole incident - Ricky sitting there shaking his head at the two of us! Especially when we broke out the phones to take pictures! And by the way - Lindsay now has this picture on her phone for when I call - the heart pickle pops up!!!

Color Blind

I was talking to a friend last night about the idea of being color blind. I just can't imagine what that must feel like. To see the beautiful sites in the world in all their color & glory - its just something to behold. Like the fall - that's my most favorite time of the year! Going to Gatlinburg, TN & going up in the Smoky Mountains & seeing all the trees different colors of gold, orange, & yellows - there is nothing more beautiful! I know some people enjoy looking at the ocean or waters of blue & that's the most gorgeous site. For others - its the beauty of flowers & all the colors they produce. The sites of snow capped mountains or the splendor in the clays of the desert. Even just sitting outside in your own back yard & seeing a bright, clear blue sky - is there anything as beautiful as that?

Now what if you see those things as a color blind person? Does it get "lessened" in any way? Or is it the only thing that a color blinded person knows so they dont really feel like they are missing out on anything?

Then it really made me think - what if what I'm seeing is all I know? That's its actually more gorgeous than that? But in the same sense, its beautiful enough - enough to let me enjoy everything I see! Oh - it just makes me crave the day that we're in Heaven & we get to see beauty in forms that we never even knew existed! Beauty that we can't even fathom! Maybe we all have a form of color blindness that will be revealed when we get to stand in the presence of our Lord! What a Beautiful Day that will be!!!

EXCITED!

This poster was released....the details aren't out yet....but LOOK!!!! I'm so excited - it actually brought tears to my eyes! Now, I'm praying it comes somewhere close by!

And all I can think about it how happy my friend, Steph, would have been about this too since we were "Dueling Fans"!!! I love them both, but SCC wins it for me. For Steph - it was always MJS!
This is be a concert that CANT BE MISSED!!!!

FINALLY!

Oh my! After working on this thing for 6 months - I finally finished it! This was the intended wrap that I wanted for Easter - yes, which was in March this year - and had problems with it a few months ago that I posted about! But I've said before how I am - ready to start other projects, but I have too many on needles & have been determined to finish some. So I stuck to my guns & afer finishing my Monkey socks - I finished this wrap!!!! I felt like I worked an eternity on this thing!!! Well, maybe not to that extreme - but after finally doing the last row & weaving in the ends - I was so excited, I screamed! Ricky was the best husband making such a big deal over it & telling me how nice it looked! So, what am I to do afterwards? I've just been sitting around the house in this cotton wrap - & yes, cranked up the air to compensate for it! But now, its all wrapped up, put in the "knit drawer" & ready to wear & go whenever it calls for it.

And now - I'm excited - I get to start a new project!!!!

Listening?

Last night, when I was getting ready for bed, I went to turn on my CD player that is next to the bed. Now, having no TV for awhile, I've been listening to my radio more than ever & of course, the volumne has to be up pretty high so I can hear it throughout the house. So, when its time to go to bed, I put in a nice CD - usually some Yanni, or some sort of relaxing music. Last night - the choice was my Bridal CD that has all the mellow stuff, like Canon in D, & Trumpet Voluntary (my personal favorite - yep, walked down the aisle to that one!) & some great Mozart & Bethoven stuff - great music to put you to sleep!!! Well, where the radio was cranked up, I had to find that perfect level again that would let me sleep - something not too loud & something not too soft.

I thought I had just the perfect level...ahh...sleep was coming soon! Then, drats, the air conditioning came on & I couldnt hear the music anymore. It was just enough noise to drown out the music I was listening too. I was laying there then trying to focus in on the music - & you know what - it worked!! When I tried to block out the sound from the air conditioning & just put all my attention towards the CD player, I could hear it - ever so faintly - but I did hear it!

Then I couldnt really relax because I was concentrating so hard on trying to stay focused on that music! But after about 10 minutes (it must have been really hot in the house because the air WOULDNT click off!) I finally eased up but could still hear the music in the background. Sleep finally hit me - I was OUT!

It made me think because yesterday in our Bible Study, John Bevere said he prayed a prayer for over 2 years & THEN he heard the Spirit of God telling him it was the wrong prayer! Do you think maybe he was praying so hard, he wasn't focusing on the small voice of God in the back telling him it was wrong? But he did finally hear it & he obeyed God. How many of us dont take the time to concentrate & tune in to God - blocking out the other stuff that distracts us? Do we realize that mostly, it only takes something simple to drown out that voice & distract us? Sometimes, God will only talk to us through still, small voices - we need to be in tune to hear it when it comes!

And by the way - dont worry about a small CD player bothering Ricky! The man can sleep with a TV blaring so loud - the neighbors down 2 miles can hear it! I dont know how he does it!

Time for some CUTE!

Its that time again - time for some cuteness!!!

My dad told me this story & I thought it was just so cute how kids minds work. You all know my niece Madi & how she's in love with Spiderman & all that are superheroes! Well, dad had the twins out for a picnic yesterday & he said that they are just getting so into conversations lately - with sentences like "This was a fantastic idea Papa" & "Its just a Beautiful Day Papa" - they're really picking up on using adjectives! So they are enjoying the day when a huge bird flies over head.

Sophia: "Look Madi, there's an eagle!"

Well, their Papa looked at it & told them, "No girls, thats a Hawk!"

He said Madi's face lit up & said, "Is that the INCREDIBLE HAWK?"

Dad had to explain that no - she's thinking of the Incredible HULK! How cute is that! Uncle Ricky is just so proud every day of Madi & her interest in the Super Hero world!
