Do we have to share everything? ... The answer is POSITIVE ... (Still adding in Thankful Thursday link up)

This isnt going to be like my normal Thankful Thursday - just because its been a rough day for me (I'm typing this Wednesday evening).

I knew things werent looking good for me Monday night.

You all know Hubby found out over the weekend he has COVID.  I really had high hopes that I would avoid it.... hopes that lasted, oh ... about 12 hours...

By Monday evening, I was coughing all through the night.

Then Tuesday, I had chills all day long & just felt really "nervy" - like when I would move simply to raise my arms or just turn my head, it was like it would PING nerves throughout my whole body. It didnt hurt, but it was a very odd sensation.

Wednesday, when I woke up, I basically was doing my own version of James Earl Jones - my voice was deep & froggy & I was still coughing & just feeling real bad exhaustion.  Not looking really good for me.

I took off work early to get my COVID test done &that was a little bit of an ordeal too... but ended up getting it done an hour later than scheduled... & it was instant change on the test.

Congrats...its a..... girl! COVID POSITIVE.

Well dang it.

We were pretty good about wearing masks around the house - Hubby never took his off in the house since his diagnosis - but apparently we shouldnt have even been in the same room.  Yeah... that didnt happen.  So, it is what it is.  Chalk me up to a statistic.

Here's some things I'm thankful for here....

* The doctor said my lungs sounded clear - that's great news.  Even though I'm coughing a lot, she said everything sounded good &  moving. I just need to keep getting up whatever is in those lungs.  I am keeping a fever so she told me to stay up on the Tylenol too & that should control it (fingers crossed)

* No more masks in the house!!!  It was so weird walking around the house 24/7 with masks on.  Watching TV on the couch, cooking, working from home in my room - all with the masks on.  I came home from the test & Hubby just hugged me - which just felt nice. You dont think a few days of not hugging your spouse is a big deal until you do it.

* Working from home. I know I've said this multiple times but this has got to be the best because if we werent already doing it, I'm obviously quarantined now.  Have the big paper that says I shouldnt leave my house for 14 days unless I'm going to the ER.  Good thing I'm working from home where its not really an issue.

* So many good friends & family! We've had so many people reach out checking on us & seeing if we need anything from the grocery or if there's anything we need help with. It's moments like this that can just make hard things easier.  Between our neighbors keeping our drive clean, to my brother offering to go get me coffee from the local coffee shop, to my Framily that offered to drop off dinner on our porch - we are truly blessed.

* We're eating out soon!!!! No joke - the first thing Hubby said when he found out I had COVID was, "after our quarantine, we can eat in a restaurant!!!!" We havent eaten out in probably coming up to a year.. no joke. We just werent comfortable taking our masks down anywhere in public.  & now that we'll have antibodies for a few months (doctors told we 'd have it for 90 days - which doesnt seem very long) - but for 90 days - We're EATING OUT BABY!!!! We're making plans on which places we've missed & we're gonna chow down!!!  Where to go first????  I feel like since we like to do celebrations with breakfasts, maybe we need to do First Watch for some yummy pancakes & omelets!

So... there you go... a weird Thankful Thursday... I'm still adding in the link up because I want to hear good things!  Share away... give me some good things that will make me smile.

Side note... please lift a prayer for our friend Terri who links up with me all the time & is such a sweet blog friend. She lost her husband yesterday after a COVID fight. When I read the news, I was absolutely stunned. There was talk of him doing well & getting ready to come home, only to see the news he passed away.  These are the moments that make you stop in your tracks & just thank God for another day.  Praying for Terri & Joe's family & friends.

The weekend we spent Valentine's 6 feet apart

 Happy Monday Tuesday!

I honestly have no real good reason for not posting yesterday except being preoccupied with wiping down every surface with Lysol wipes & spraying everything with Lysol spray & washing my hands every 10 minutes.

I'm sure a lot of you saw on the socials... COVID has hit our household.  At least its not hit me ... yet.... knocking on wood it doesnt.  But it got Hubby.  Kicked in the gut... more like his back.

Friday evening, he was sort of feeling blah. Went to bed early & didnt really feel like himself - but he woke up around 2 am just moaning & groaning. I thought he was having some sort of heart attack because he really didnt sound good.  I asked him what was wrong & he said his whole body hurt so bad.  He just couldnt get comfortable.  He couldnt lay down, it hurt to stand - there was just no where to go for relief. Sort of being on a boat & being sick & no land was near to get off the rocky waters.

We got some Tylenol in him & it helped for just a little bit... the aches & pains would come back in just a few hours... it was a long night.

... that turned into a long day.

He ended up with chills so bad that he was just sitting in front of a heater trying to warm up.  Poor guy.  If you went into the Webster dictionary, you would have surely seen his face under the word "MISERABLE"

I had to run out to take some bank deposits & drop off some stuff for work & had intentions to pick up groceries.... that turned to a big nope. I set it for 10am... only to be told it would be 7pm before it would be ready. Of course it would.

I spent most of Saturday just on the couch reading & trying to do whatever I could for Hubby.

I got an appointment for him to get COVID tested & he kept saying not to bother - it wasn't COVID - he just felt bad - he thought it was like the flu.  Which, we just recently had some family that felt just like that, which is why I thought to get him scheduled for a testing.  He expected coughing & high fevers & sore throats... looks like COVID comes in all kinda of fun shapes & forms.

All night Saturday was just another really tough night for him... its awful seeing someone you love just feel so bad.

Sunday, we went down & I stayed in the car while he got tested.... & he called me in less than 15 minutes asking me what pharmacy we use.  I was like, that cant be good....he came out & got in my back seat & said, "put your mask on" - I was like, NOOOOOO - you're kidding, right?  I mean, I thought it was COVID, but when they really say someone has it, its like, Oh dang it - you've been in my face all weekend.  You're so contagious. Greeeaaattttt.

I ended up running down & getting my groceries with curbside service & then went to fill up my car on the way home & then noticed looking in my hatchback all sorts of Capri Suns.  I dont think I have tasted the flavor of Capri Suns in about... oh.... maybe 30 years?  I opened up the hatch & saw a bunch of groceries I would NEVER ever order.

You have got to be freaking kidding me.

I asked Hubby if he felt OK enough for me to drive back down to the grocery since we were just about half way... we headed back down & I had to call the store & tell them I had someone's poor choices of food selection in the back of my car & where was my much needed Natural Bliss coffee creamer? we're going into a snow storm people - I NEED MY NATURAL BLISS COFFEE CREAMER!!!!!

I honestly think they ran around the store & picked out everything again because we sat out in the parking lot for 30 minutes.  Poor Hubby was so miserable - he had to keep getting out & just walking around the car because his back was so sore.

We were gone for maybe 2.5 hours but it felt like we had driven to California & back.  Just get home - that's all we wanted.

Then it was all about scrubbing everything down - wiping things down - making sure I have a utility belt with hand sanitizer in it & masks in it to pull out whenever we were in the same room.

I need to buy right to calling fanny packs COVID SURVIVAL BAGS

The doctor said a lot of his back pain is because his lungs already sounded like they were having some issues & they wanted him to move as much as possible. Well, when its freezing cold & the drive way is like a luge for  the Winter Olympics, he can just stay inside & walk the halls - which we dont live in the Karadshian mansion or anything - so he was walking by me 30 dozen times. Just what I want is COVID air to be flying around. ... .sigh.... I'm trying to be vigilant but wont really be surprised if I find myself with a positive test soon.  I go later in the week to get tested.

Many times through the day, Hubby kept apologizing that it was Valentine's Day & he didnt have me flowers or candy or dinner... I told him to stop. This is our 29th Valentine's together... this is what growing old together & sickness & health is all about.  The memory of this Valentine's having to stay 6 feet away from each other will definitely be one to remember.

Our Valentine feast was grilled cheese, some chili & a extra special dose of lovely Tylenol... & for Hubby - some steroids because he's special.

I spent the rest of the night sitting on the couch finishing watching Away on Netflix - only because I'm always late to the party on everything.  I really enjoyed that show & hope they have a season 2!

... oh, scratch that... just looked for an image & saw it was canceled. Of course ... because that's just how to top off the weekend. Geez....

So tell me about your weekend...
Anything exciting happen for Valentine's Day?
Did you watch Away... am I the only one who really enjoyed it?
Have you survived coming out COVID Free from a house that had someone with it?

Favorite Drink Holder

Because they dont make cup holders for some of these bigger drinks & water bottles!!!

Favorite Swing

OK - let's be real here... I get in this thing & I'll just have to live there the rest of my life.
Getting out of that would be a task.

Winter Clearance, a new RING & yes, that's a Christmas tree {Thankful Thursday #267}

This week I am Thankful for:

Fabric Cutter
A friend of mine needed some masks made for an event she was doing so I broke  out my sewing machine.  Hubby got me a new cutting pad & some tools to cut the fabric & I got to put it to use. So much nicer than scissors!!!  I wanted the smaller tool to cut washi tape too that's really thick to fit some of the lines in my planner - a multi-purpose gift.

Etsy Sale
I feel like I havent made anything in the longest with yarn - knitting or crochet. With this bum shoulder of mine, I can only do so much. I havent even added in my store some of the things I've made over the past year - so when I got a sale that sold a couple of my knitted things, I was shocked & surprised - Totally forgot about the things! Pleasant surprise.

Winter Clearance
I had to take my mom some things to the rehab center & ran into the store to pick them up.  I was excited to see Meijers had 50% off their clearance prices! I was able to pick my mom up a cardigan for $7.00 & got me the cutest sweater for $7.00 too.  Winter is STILL full in force around here so give me all the clearance winter stuff!

My $7.00 sweater

Starbucks for Friday!
Hubby stopped  on his way home from work on Thursday to pick up a Starbucks for me to have for a Friday morning treat.  Its the little thing that make a morning better. I woke up & it was cold so I did make a hot cup while I was watching puppy play before work - but when I logged on, break out this Venti baby.

RING
We bought a Ring Camera over the Holidays when Amazon was having some deals around Thanksgiving & just never put it up.  This past weekend, we finally got it up & running & its really nice. I enjoy that it shows on our Echo's throughout the house the front door.  & the picture & sound is great on it. It makes us want to get more for our other doors now.

Work from home when sick
I was working away at my computer from home the other day, no problem - enjoying my breakfast & my coffee... & then all of a sudden, it was like the flu. Something hit me. I INSTANTLY felt sick. Like REALLY sick.  It was just a little bit before lunch time & I made sure to take my full lunch hour & I crawled in bed & napped the entire hour. I dont nap either.  & I was able to make it through the rest of the day. If I was in the office, I would have had to leave - that's how sick I was.  I am so glad I was home where I could wear comfy clothes & have my bathroom near & able to still get the job done.  There's some big advantages of this working from home thing.

Christmas in February
We still have 2 Christmases to do & had hopes of vaccines being a little faster.... so we ended up packing up one of the piles of gifts we had & took them to our Framily & left them on their porch - they left our gifts... & we were able to video chat & have a virtual Christmas.  Which obviously isn't ideal - but still glad to be able to share in joy & Christmas spirit - even in February.  & if you notice behind Hubby, yes, our tree is still up. LOL.  I got all the ornaments down & off of it New Years Weekend when we got Ozzie... this is all the Hubby's fault. He just never takes it down. The deal is he has it down by February 1st.  He laughed at that this year.  I dont even bother mentioning it anymore.  Some things in marriage, you just let go.  I figure when Ozzie brings it down because he loves to chew on the branches, then he'll take it down... who knows.... I'm just afraid Ozzie  is going to chew through a light wire & then no tree in December.  If we make it till March - I may just plug it back up & do an Easter tree.

All these Reese's cups!!!

What are you Thankful for this week?

Quick updates.... with an updated Ozzie picture

I basically feel like my blogging card is going to be getting revoked soon.

Life hasn't been exciting - & I know - it hasn't been exciting since last March.  But I'm at the point where I didnt even take any pictures over the weekend.  & nothing really spectacular happened, so I didnt do a weekend post.  & then it turned into Tuesday & I still hadn't posted anything.  Here we are on Wednesday.  Yep - they're  coming to take that blog away any day now.

Lets tap into some updates:

* Yes, mom is still in rehab.  We passed the 4 week mark yesterday. Crazy, huh? I know her cats miss her. When I go over to feed them, they're snuggled together on her bed - & they dont get along for the most part.  They've got to be wondering where she's at.

* Ozzie is still growing like a weed.  He can stand now at the tall water bowl & drink without having to jump up to reach it. That hurts my heart.  He is still fully a daddy's boy. He will get up next to Hubby & lay down, love to be curled up around his neck & if Hubby rolls over, Ozzie has to scoot to get closer to him.  Me? If I hold him - he bites at my face & whines until I put him down.  No respect. Ernie was like that with me too but now he's my buddy - they always come around to me eventually.

* I am so over the snow & cold. Not even joking that it was like groundhog day around here (no - no literally because wasn't it just really Groundhog day? I didnt even see what Phil said)... but every day, I'd wake up to snow on the ground. It was melt off during the day & open the curtains again & BAM - snow again.  I AM OVER IT.  I am needing you Spring. I'll even take your allergies happily.  We had snow this week & tonight into tomorrow, we're picking it up a notch with ICE.  .... do you hear me groan?.... & then, let's take it up ANOTHER notch & add in tundra freezing weather to the mix. Thank you Lord I'm working from home.  I just feel so bad for the horses (though I know God made them with thick coats for a reason & yes, they are in a barn - but STILL... its freaking cold - I worry) & its no fun to give water to them when its freezing.  38 more days till Spring!

Me every morning seeing more snow

* I'm about giving up on the contacts.  My left eye still is blurry in them.  I'm going to get an appointment to see if I need a different prescription for that eye or if I just cant wear contacts. I always was told I have a slight astigmatism & maybe that's it.... or the place is dumb in my what they prescribed. I give it a 50/50 shot for either answer.  I just know I drove to Target one day with contacts in & by the time I got to the parking lot, I was in a panic to get them out of my eyes because driving down, I couldnt see anything past the car in front of me.  If I had to read any stop sign - or look too far ahead at a stop light - everything was just a hazy blur. I dont think that's how it supposed to work. I guess I may just have to be a 4-eye gal for the rest of my life. Which, I dont mind wearing glasses - I just wanted contacts mainly for things like putting on make up or working out - & the ever popular, seeing my legs when I have to shave in the shower & making sure I dont squirt the shampoo instead of the conditioner.  Simple things.

* I binged a show on Netflix that was depressing - Zac & Mia.  Two teenagers that meet while they're in the hospital with cancer.  Hubby was like, "Why do you watch this sort of stuff"... I still watch Fault in the Stars & cry each time.  It's that same sort of vibe.  But there's only 2 season, like 6 episodes & they're like 22 minutes a piece so it was fast to go through them.  I guess if you need a good cry, this is your type of show. ... side note - I'm super bitter they recast the brother in Season 2 - I loved the guy from season 1.

... hold up - I just found out this is a book... guess what I'll be ordering soon!

* Super Bowl... watched about 15 minutes of it. I wanted to see who was singing the National Anthem & the beginning of it - I didnt know any of the people & turned back to Netflix.

* I didnt even get to join up with the Book link up yesterday. I've been on the struggle bus with reading lately.  I may need to rethink my Goodreads goal & take that down a notch...or half.

Tell me something good about your weekend... or week since its Wednesday - GAH!
