The weekend that I think TP accountability is a thing....

How's everyone hanging in there?

Is everyone else feeling like this is one of the most bizarre situations you've ever lived through? Just weird - bizarre - surreal - CRAZY....

I'm at the point where I woke up on Sunday & in our work group chat, I heard it ding at 7:15am & I thought, OH NO, I over slept.. which 1. it was Sunday - not Monday - & 2. I dont have to start working till 7:30 so I would have still been fine since I just have to take like 25 steps to my desk now.

I'm telling you - CRAZYYYYY!!!!

And at this  point, I've also forgotten what make up is & I'm pretty sure my hair hasn't seen a comb in over a week.  Yes - I'm not gross, I'm still taking showers & washing it, but I just throw it up in a bun when its wet - & take it down when its time to wash it again.

I did venture out for the first time in over a week on Saturday, yes with my hair up in that sloppy sloppy bun.  Not a cute messy bun - a sloppy sloppy bun.  We needed to go to the grocery because we hadn't been out to get food in 2 weeks & I was in desperate need for a new printer for working at home.

I have a printer - but its old & it takes about 2 minutes to print one email... aint no one got time for that.  Plus, I have to make TONS of copies a day - & a lot printing out emails.  I figure that this working from home thing is going to be longer than I anticipated, so I went ahead & dished out the money.  Hoping it makes my work week at home much easier  I've told multiple people that I was about ready to throw my printer out of the window last week.... hopefully my Hulk rage will calm down now.

Hello beautiful!

It felt so strange to be out 'in the real world'.  To see normal crowded parking lots totally empty.  To feel the way I did.

We got to Sam's Club & there was a line out the front door.  We had gotten there just as they had opened - my thinking was, if they cleaned last night, it'll have fewer germs in the morning than in the evening.  When I saw the line, I figured everyone else had the same idea..... I found out I was wrong. They were just there for toilet paper.

They had to have a police man at the front to let people get in safely, like this is some Black Friday attitude happening.  Everyone was pretty decent at standing apart from each other in the line to get in... but once inside- WATCH OUT - ALL BETS OFF IN THE RAGE TO GET THE TP.  Me? We just wanted the printer, so we were able to go the opposite direction.  Ricky did try to venture back to see if he could snag up some TP - we have a good dozen rows left (Why am I telling you that - is TP accountability a thing now?) - but anyways - he said people were all crammed up on top of each other (EWWWW) & then the Sam's employees were making people get back in line & they were disbursing them in the carts. No one was allowed to touch them. They were putting one in each cart because people have turned into savages apparently.  Ricky jetted out of there & we just did a self check out & got out of there fast.

Covid 19 Support Ribbon - Coronavirus Toilet Paper Meme - Shut Up ...

Our next stop was the grocery store.  That was more crowded then I expected to - & I'm gonna confess right now - this place gave me ALLLL the anxiety. People gave NOT ONE CARE how close they were to you, how much they they got into your space. It was so aggravating.  Even the workers would come down the aisle with these huge carts & sort of force people together.

When we checked out, I appreciated the markings on the ground to say where to stand... but do people play by the rules? Not one bit.  I dont get people.

& I told the cashier to just push the food down, I would bag it myself - to which I'll add, I'm a pretty awesome bagger. My first job was at a grocery store cashier for 3 years - I loved that job actually!  But put me in any bagging competition - I'm pretty awesome if I do say so myself.  ... She did just that, but by the end, there were like 5 things that were up near her I couldnt reach - I told her to just shove it down - but NOOOO - she put in a bag & walked around & skimmed my shoulder as she threw it in our basket.  If you can skim someone's shoulder - you're too close.

I was ready to just take a HAZARD SHOWER when I got home.

I was actually really glad to get back home ... back into our safe bubble.  We have food now, I'm good for another few weeks.

Saturday was so warm & beautiful though - so I just took advantage of being home & the sun shining... I sat on the back porch & finished reading a book.

I even had company....

Is Harvey smiling? I think so

The dogs are totally loving all this home time....
& they in return are giving me all the comfort & joy in scary times.

It was so hot on Saturday that I didnt want to turn on the oven, so we decided to support the local restaurants & I ran down & got some take out.

We spent the rest of Saturday evening being smothered by dogs because a HUGE storm came through & the dogs were all freaking out. FREAKING OUT.  All I kept thinking is, "sure, all this chaos right now, let's add in some horrible thunderstorms & tornadoes to the mix".  2020, I'll say it again - you are just the worst.

45 Best Coronavirus Memes To Cheer You Up During Self-Isolation

During the night with all the storms, I was able to get caught up with The Walking Dead... which really isnt the best show to be watching right now during this time - nor in the dark hearing the winds & rains smash against your window. What can I say - I must be a glutton for punishment.

Sunday, it's week 3 of church from home.  & its the 3rd week of making a big breakfast for Ricky & I.  I'm trying to find new routines where I can because I am a person that needs them.  I feel like things slip through the cracks when there's not plans, a schedule.  A big breakfast is a good thing for my belly & my soul.

The rest of my Sunday was like most of my Sundays BC - Before Coronavirus...

I did some reading... watched 3 church services online ... watched the For King & Country little concert they did (here's the LINK if you want to watch it).... did my bills.... did my planner for next week - because I have SO MANY PLANS for next week ??? - again,I need routine.

Got in some Steven Furtick after my own home church service

I also went ahead & joined Daily Burn to get some workouts in at home. I actually did good last week & worked out 4 times - plus multiple "drive way walks" ... & I do have a Beachbody account - but that's just been aggravating for me.  I have had a very vocal hate of the last few workout plans Beachbody has put out because they have no music... & they have since gone back to some other old videos & CHANGED the music that was once on there. I dont know if they lost licensing rights or something?  Plus, its just not easy for me to pick & choose workouts. They are all mixed in on plans & I've done most of them, so I dont want to start over at the beginning of the plans again.

I know there are work outs for free out there - I actually did some Popsugar Fitness videos last week - but did I mention I like routine?  I'm not good just going on & picking & choosing a workout. I need a plan, a strategy, someone to tell me what do for a work out.

Enter Daily Burn... they are doing a 60 day free trial - 60 days??? I'll give it a go.

Daily Burn Review 2020- Aim Workout

But they are known for having work out plans for different things - weights / cardio / Intense workouts / Pilates / Barre ... but their big selling point is they offer a new work out every day.  I guess you can do it LIVE at 9am - but you can access it all day long to do on your own... so you can do 365 new workouts a year!! How cool is that?  .... Of course, with the virus going on, they dont have new workouts happening because social distancing... but they are planning on using videos from another year - which its all still new to me.

If anything, its free for the next 2 months - it'll be a good trial... I'll let you know how it works for me & what I think about it.

The rest of the Sunday was just lazy - trying to soak up the sunshine & fresh air - even made a batch of chocolate chip cookies, because hey, I did work out earlier!!!.... trying to gear up for another week that I'm sure is going to be full of news, more anxiety & a lot more frustration.   But we've got this, right?

So how was your weekend... did you even KNOW it was the weekend?

Have you been out or are you doing life as normal?
(if you are - why????)

Have you ever used Daily Burn?

Did you get storms this weekend?
& do you have pets that are terrified of it?

Because we need some good news in our world... & some cute little faces dont hurt either {Thankful thursday #

Image result for thankful thursday knit by god's hand

Yep - its still crazy out there!!  The world seems to still be just falling apart around us - & it looks like it'll be like this for awhile... so looking for some good that's going on in our little sheltered, quarantined lives.  Lets share - we need all the good news we can get every single day.   I have found that if I watch too much of the news, I get so overwhelmed & my anxiety just reaches the roof.  I gotta get a breather from it... so I need more people to just share some good things. I think we all need it

So here we go... what I'm Thankful for this week:

Extra Coffee
When we were still at work. my coworker text me in the morning & said that they messed up her Starbucks drink & made another one - did I want the one she didnt want?  Well yes - I've turned into the queen of Starbuck's failed drinks.

Hair Appointment
WHEW - they shut down the hair salons around here- with all the other 'non-essential' businesses.  I think we could take a lot of votes if hair salons are ESSENTIAL... but I got in RIGHT before they pulled the plug on these. Whew. My roots couldnt have taken a quarentine period. I'm already concerned about if it'll be open in 6 weeks.  I'll just focus on the good today & know I've got a little it to go.

Rehab
Mom finally got to the rehab center we wanted her to go to. It took 3 days of misunderstanding. At one point, my brother & I drove up there to drop off her stuff & see her (they were closed to the public with the COVID-19 - but we were allowed to bring her things & get her settled & then we couldnt come back) - but we got there & she wasn't there - even when they called me at 10am that morning & said she was being moved. It took another 24 hours after THAT too.... But she got there & everything is working out well.  That she's stayed longer than 14 hours (the last trip there) is progress.

Bible Study at work
I've been wanting to do the new Kelly Minter Bible Study & when I mentioned it to a friend at work, she said she was interested in doing it too - & she brought in another coworker/ friend & now, the 3 of us are doing it together. HOW COOL IS THAT? The other 2 ladies have never done a Bible study like this before so I'm happy to take the lead & go through it with them.  The first week, it was great hearing their thoughts about starting it. I'm anxious to get in the good stuff in this study & really get some good conversation going.

Twins 1st birthday
So our youngest grandbabies just turned one this past week.  Double the CUTENESS - aren't they? They had to have their birthday party delayed, but that's the good thing about being 1 - you still get a cupcake full of sugar & then plan on it again later down the road.  Gavin & Harlin - you melt our hearts!!! Happy Birthday Mason Men!!!

Image may contain: 2 people, possible text that says 'Happy Birthday'

Worked from home
Got to give it a good try to see how it was going to work out being at home - the little things you dont think about.  We've still got a lot of kinks, but for the most part, it's going pretty well.  Our work has been really vigiliant about making sure we're all healthy & safe & they really have pushed to do whatever is possible to make sure we CAN work at home instead of just making us come in because its more convenient.  I'll say it for the 352nd time - I am so happy I have this job.

Coloring Books
We shared in our HSM group what we're doing to pass our time & someone mentioned coloring. I instantly remembered how coloring helps with my anxiety. When I would fly (SO LONG AGO) - I would always take coloring books with me - & this was before they made the cool adult ones that dont make you look dumb having a Disney Princess coloring book.  I gave no cares. I still pulled those babies out.  But I've been tapping into my anxiety reliever in these crazy times lately.

So tell me - share some good things in your world

The weekend that I went to Arendelle to forget all my troubles....

Does anyone else feel like this is all a big prank being pulled on us at this point?

It all just feels so surreal.

I think this season in our lives will be one of those history moments that are like 9/11 or when the space shuttle exploded. You'll remember all the feelings like it just happened - you'll tell your children or grandchildren about the time the world shut down for a virus.

I'm sitting at home right now... working.

My work has been really good about this all really   We get multiple updates on the situation in our firm & what the government is asking.  Our firm even created a response team solely for questions regarding this pandemic & keeping everyone informed on all the latest news.  We even made a local Business First paper about the precautions they have been taking.

They've also made changes in our offices by putting hand sanitizer everywhere - gloves in the kitchen - taking all our silverware we use & trading out for individually wrapped pieces.  They started encouraging people to work from home last week.

Being in a department that requires mail though, we didnt think it would be something we could do.... but then things have changed drastically & we were just told to work form home - try it - see what happens - let's work out some kinks.  So on Thursday of last week, I did work from home.  It was really interesting to see how it worked & it did indeed bring up some things that i wouldnt have thought about before trying it out.

Image result for working from home meme

A lot of people joke that working from home is so much easier... OH MY GOSH... I worked harder at home than I do in the office - & that's saying something. I didnt even take a lunch & worked 30 minutes over.    It was super busy & non-stop.  I

I feel so bad that we just got a new manager in - what a time for her to be thrown in the fire.... but she's been incredible & so helpful.  She's worked out a new way for us to work from home - so we're trying it again & hopefully this will be it.

Especially because I'm set up now. I've got my little hole in my room that I can sit in all day & get it all done.  Copier, scanner, check scanner, deposit slips & stamps, computer remoted into work... we'll see how it goes.

I figure I'll have to run into work maybe a day or two a week.... until they shut us down & we can't.  Then I dont know what will happen. I guess I'll be like the rest of the world that is like, NOW WHAT?

Through all this, mom is still in the rehab center - where no visitors are allowed.  But she's been calling & she sounds like she really likes it this time around. She's gone down to the hair salon to have them wash her hair for her - she's been playing Bingo every night - has been going into their computer room to play some games online.... she may not want to come out.

My weekend - I guess the highlight was taking a shower & changing my jammies.

It's all so crazy man.....

I did the usual at home things - read, napped (I dont usually nap), laundry, got my work area set up.

As for TV - I ended up watching all 3 of the Thor movies... I had never seen those.  Why? I'm not sure.  I think Ricky went & saw the first one in the theater with his friends & then I just never cared to see the others until I saw the first one.... but thanks Disney+ for all the Marvel fun.

& also thank you Disney+ for Frozen 2!!!! I didnt see it in the theaters & was super excited to see it. ... it gave me all the feels too!!! ALL THE FEELS.  Loved it - I'll be watching it again this week, I'm sure.

Image result for frozen 2

It's been a time of dog snuggles, that's for sure. Harvey Dent has been loving it - my gentle giant.  Bruno has been loving it too - he's been getting extra 'walker' time.

Constant view all weekend...
"What are we doing now mom?"

I always am jealous of everyone with their family pictures doing games & watching movies together.  Ricky is so freaked out by me that I've been in "public" working Wednesday & Friday in the office - he's staying far away from me.  I made a big breakfast Sunday before church came online & he came & got his plate & sat across the kitchen from me.  He's taking social distancing true to heart.

Image result for social distancing meme

I'll be glad to work today - even from home.... it'll give me something to keep my mind working.

I'm anxious to see where this all goes.  Where we live, school just keeps getting pushed out further & further.  Questions are coming up if it will even be open the rest of the year..  THAT"S NUTS!! Can you imagine how the Seniors feel?  Will they get their prom?  What about graduation?  ... I feel so bad for my niece too - it is her first tennis season at her high school as a freshman & the whole season is going is just gone.

I know the big picture is so much more than these things... but its just so bizarre to see how this touches all the little things.

I'm trying not to watch too much  news coverage about it because I can feel the panic creeping up.  The numbers just keep going up, people keep dying, there are no answers to anything - no prediction of help or when its going to stop.  & let's just all lift up a prayer for all our doctors, nurses, first responders who are out there in the fold of this thing ... & then go home to their families & try to keep THEM healthy & safe too. God bless each & every one of them.

.... I just dont know what to think about it all... my brain just cant wrap around it all really.  I mean, we had people getting so mad about basketball being canceled... do they see now that it probably saved a bigger mess on our hands?  & yet, we still see beaches full of young college kids who gives no cares about anyone around them.  Infuriating.  I know people say, well, we were young once.  Nope - not buying that. I lived my life listening to rules - all my friends did too - this is just a different generation. & I totally know that made me sound like I'm not 105 years old....

Image result for i'm officially old

It's just so aggravating for a whole generation to just shrug off a serious thing so they can have "their spring break"... & I'm sure we can all go on about the crazy things people are doing.  We all know we can chalk up TOILET PAPER to this list too.

I'm rambling... I know...

This is what happens when you're left alone in a home - even with someone else in the home - for a weekend.

I'm going to be prepared for next weekend though - I'm going to get out to Hobby Lobby this week somehow & stock up on yarn for some baby blankets & then fine - sit on the other side of the house & dont talk to me... I'll be in yarn land. My happy place.  Where viruses dont shut down the world.

How are you doing?

Are you freaked out by any of this?

Is your life changed in any way? Or are you living life as usual?

Tell me what else I can watch while I'm stuck at home by myself

These are weighted bars... I kinda like this idea instead of weights on the end of a bar - you dont have to change them out & seems a lot more 'balanced' when holding it.

Because it gives me all the Spring vibes
