Confessions....

Image result for confessions knit by god's hand

... I have no idea what a bitcoin in. & I dont think I'll ever get it. Nor do I think I care.

... I am so obsessed with Harry & Meagan.  I am already debating about taking a vacation day from work to stay & watch all the wedding coverage.   I'm still heartbroken that I had to exchange my DVR box when it blew out & it lost the wedding of William & Kate. I am 100% royal obsessed.  It's the Princess in me.

... I'm also equally as obsessed with Justin Timberlake & Jessica Beihl.  Did you see their Instagram pages during the Golden Globes?  They are just the cutest. American Royalty to me.  ... Add in Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively. Couples that can laugh together like they do? ... that's #goals right there.

... I dont know why still so obsessed with Sister Wives but I always watch it when its on. They all get on my nerves & I think that the husband is just a special kind of jerk. It all just mesmerizes me. I'm sure I say, "what are you thinking?" at least a half dozen times while watching it.

... I debated keeping my Nativity set up for the whole year.  I have wanted our Willow Tree set FOR-EV-ER & when I put it up for the first time this year, I didnt think I could love it more - but I did.  & I was so sad to pack it up.  Had discussions with the hubs about leaving it out every day of the year.  Why not? ... but alas, its packed up.  & I'm remembering that it'll feel like I'm blinking & Christmas will be here again.

.. is it me or does every news story start out with a fear filled flu update?  GEEZ... I've never been so terrified of the flu in all my life.  Still aint getting the flu shot though.  Conspiracy alert - isn't it strange how they said it was 10% effective & now its 30% effective? hmmmm..... I trust no one.

... & speaking of Christmas - our tree is still sitting in the corner. As tradition goes - I take all the decorations down on New Years Day.  The tree, which is the hubs job, usually sits until February. & the deal is, if it is still there by February 1, I get to decorate it for Valentine's Day.  So yeah... its usually February 1st that it comes down.  & I also threaten if it makes it to Valentine's decorations, its staying up for Easter decorations & then 4th of July decorations & then its just staying up all year long because Fall & Halloween decorations are right behind ... & then we're back at Christmas. I'm good with this idea... but it does push the hubs to get it down... by February 1st anyways. haha

... I can't believe I still haven't seen the new Star Wars Movie... NOR the new Hugh Jackman film. That's the shocking one.  I was going to go on MLK day when I was off but it snowed & I wasn't about to get stranded going to the movies by myself.  Heck, I still havent seen the new Justice League movie either. My movie watching skills have slacked immensely.

... I miss knitting. I havent been able to do it lately because Ernie sits there & watches me & then runs & jumps & grabs the yarn.  Whether it be hanging, or if its the ball of yarn, or even the project that is hanging from my needles.  You want to hear a loud scream?  Come to my house when this all happens.

The weekend that we watched the snow melt away.... Praise the Lord!

FINALLY!!!  Above freezing temps!!!

YAHOOOO!!!! It honestly felt like Spring... & it was just in the 50's.
I say JUST like it was nothing - but it felt like everything after spending the last few weeks in single digit temps.

Friday, leaving work, it felt wonderful walking out of the building & not having to hide most of my face running to the parking garage.

I, however, was running. I had to get home & grab up 2 of the dogs & get to the vet's office.

Ernie went for his next round of shots - rabies & parvo... & we took Bruno with us because he was having issues with his ear.

pacing the floor in the vet

Poor guy - I cant believe I'm saying this - once again fell down the steps while we were at work.  How he keeps doing this is unbelievable. Simply unbelievable. We have a gate in front of the steps.  & a basket holding the gate in place - & a weight on the other side of the gate making sure it's not movable.  Jokes on us - its totally movable.

We looked back at the security camera & Bruno someone managed to get BEHIND a chair, leading his nose to get right on the exact place of the gate that he could nudge it open & ended  up on the OTHER side of the gate. I still dont know how he managed to get BEHIND the chair that lead him there. .... & he fell down a flight of steps - for the third time in a year.  WHAT IS HAPPENING????

Well, when he did - he apparently busted his middle eardrum. OH MY POOR BABY.  It was oozing & swollen & just left him shaking his head & tilting his head to the side as he walked.  The vet said he was probably in some pretty good discomfort with the swelling.  She gave him some anti-inflammatory & an antibiotic shot to help with infection... & he'll go back in 2 weeks to get checked.

& with him already being totally blind & now not being able to hear, he's just not barking any more to let us know when he needs to go out at night. We catch him when we're home & awake... but when we're sleeping - he's confined to an area of the kitchen & every morning, there's pee. He just can't hold his 17 yr old bladder any more & he just wont bark.... so we've tried diapers this weekend. & hey - they really worked out well. He wasn't too happy at first... but I think he'll settle into them

Saturday, we just enjoyed another day of relaxing at home.

I say relaxing, but it was a busy  morning for me. I got a lot done around the house, a lot of laundry, got ready for Bible Study & put on another crock pot dish for dinner & then finally got to sit down & relax & enjoy watching the snow melt & finish reading a book.  Alll - the life.

Melt away snow... melt away

.... I am in love with this picture of my boys....

& of course, Harvey loved the weekend where our neighbor was out. He just cant get enough of him.

Sunday, forget sleeping in.

I had a puppy jumping on my face at 6:30am... sigh....

If you have to be woken up, I guess there are worse ways.

I ended up going to MSM - so excited to see my girls as always - & then left from there to get back to my Joysters!  It was our first meet up since before Christmas so it was so great to be back together - starting a great study - & to have one of my dear friends join us.

We know how to snack!!!

I left from there & ran to Kroger & took advantage of the Click List again - I'm in love with it....

& then I got home & meal prepped some salads for the week.   Today is a big day for me... training starts for another half marathon... oh wow...

I wasn't sure I was going to do it... but alas... I'll talk more about it later.

But anyways, I spent my Sunday night doing catch up things to get ready for the week & when I'm only home a few hours & its time to get ready for bed, Sunday just flies by....

& BAM - Monday is back!  But I'm so glad its a Monday that's above freezing & no snow!

How was your weekend?

Did you get a warm up?

8 years, 10 dollars, 35+ years .... lots of numbers this week {Thankful Thursday #159}

Image result for knit by god's hand thankful thursday

This week I am Thankful For:
{Numbers go with my One-Thousand Gifts Journal - just ignore}

23 / 8 yrs old.
I can't believe the middle Grand turned 8 years old last week.  I feel like he was just born.... he's growing up so fast.

Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling
Snagged Julie's picture

25 / Q'Doba
I'm still venturing out at work & finding new places for lunch... & I'm super happy that Q'doba is just across the street.  A good vegetarian bowl is top notch for lunch.

27 / New Bible Study
Excited that our Joyster group is starting a new bible study..  & our girls bible study is also starting a new study. I'm just waiting for the book to come in.  Funny thing is, our girls group is doing a study on JOY.  I'm going to do good not to get confused all up in here with my JOYSTERS & doing a study on JOY with my girls.

28 / Candles
I just love candles when its so dark early - gives the home such a cozy look. Plus, the yummy smells.  I love when my house smells like apples pie or cinnamon without me having to cook anything.

29 / Gift card from work
So apparently on top of everything else my work has done lately, I got a gift card for my birthday. They give them out to all the employees on their birthday.... mine had gotten missed in the hustle of the end of the year, but they made sure to get it to me.  Isn't that just the nicest thing?

I didnt realize the pic was blurry & you know this girl already spent the gift card to take another pic ;)
30 / Family being close
Soooo.... it was weird. Our alarm went off on our house last week... & our front door was open.  We saw it on our security camera that Harvey was just sitting looking at the cracked door.  Not sure if someone tried to break in or what, but I was just freaking out thinking Harvey was going to go out the front door & leave.  The good thing?  Family is near by & they were over at my house right away to check the house & make sure the door was shut.  ....Side note - it was all weird this happened because the two days before, I saw this reallllly strange car driving really slow by the house at 7am... & there was just some weird things that happened with them .... & then Ricky actually saw them driving by later that evening. Their car was VERY noticable. It had like pieces of cars that didnt go on it - like a blue door on a beige car.  I just had a really weird feeling about it & then all this happened with our alarm & door. Hmmmm.....

31 / Survived grocery.
Geez. I really didnt plan on going to the grocery because of the snow storm - it was just the most convenient time to do it... but MANNNNN, it was a nut house. I was in the grocery store for nearly 2 hours.  I never wanted to run & scream more in my life.  But I survived.

32 / Off work early
I'm so glad that my new job is really aware of bad weather & they kept us updated all day long with emails on the status of the roads & then when they knew it was going to be bad, they gave us a time we could leave.  & it was perfect timing. The roads were just starting to get really bad on my drive home. I cant imagine staying another hour & a half & taking those roads.

Leaving the office
34 / Home all day
Let me tell you - I so appreciate the days lately that I have had no where to go & nothing to do. They are few & far between. I had plans for Saturday but with the weather, everything got changed & it made me appreciate the lazy day snuggled in the house.  It really is making me rethink my schedule for the year.  I've got to cut back on things. I have to not be so overwhelmed... I need to enjoy some slowness & relaxing in life.  I'm learning this.

38 / Old church friend
I walked into church Sunday to get to my MSM meeting & as I'm walking by, I hear someone say a name.  It's an unusual name - not crazy - but different. & I dont know what made me stop - but I stopped dead in my tracks & turned around & went back to see if it was the same person I knew by that name. It totally was.  This lady actually was a teenager in the church I grew up in & she was in my parent's youth class.  I looked at her & told her who my mom & dad was & she just hugged me - she remembered me immediately.  Come to find out, we are back at the same church together now.... about 35+ years later... isn't that crazy?  She has connected with my parents on Facebook now & I love that the world can be really small sometimes.

What are you thankful for this week?

The weekend that I stayed snuggled in as much as possible....

So much for 60 degree temps a few days ago....

Winter came & sucker punched us back in the face.

How many days is to spring?  It's 65 days till Spring... always counting.

But we were reminded that it is indeed winter & winter isn't fun.  It may be pretty, but its not fun. At least for me. I get some people like it.  I dont understand those people.

Anyways, Friday, we made it into work without issue, though I could hear freezing rain hitting my car on the drive & it made me anxious about the drive home.

Work was great about it all because they sent out emails all day long giving updates on the roads & finally around noon, they said we could leave early - at 3pm.... which was perfect timing because that's when it really started coming down.

The ride home was starting to get slippery & slushy - but luckily, they had called off school & the traffic was so light.

The dogs were happy for me to be home so they could play in the snow.  At least the Aussies.  Bruno didnt' know what was going on & Zoe was like, "Let me just walk outside with one step & pee on the concrete & come back in" - that's my kinda girl.

I spent my Friday snuggled up on the couch watching some Netflix by some heaters & just glad all this hit on a weekend & we didnt have to worry about getting to work the next day in it.

Saturday, literally, all we did was stay in the house.  The best day ever.  I had plans to do some things & meet up with some people, but everything got canceled.  I ended up just staying in my sweats all day, made some crock pot soup for dinner & made some corn bread & even tried out a new weight watchers 2 ingredient dough - turned out AMAZING by the way - I'll have to share this because everyone needs to know how simple this is.

Some pics from Saturday

It was so crazy how there was ice sticking out of the ground.  It was like little daggers of icicles everywhere. I dont know if it was the ice that stuck to grass or what... but I've never seen it in my life - it was so cool!!!!

All those holes are where ice is jolting out

& of course, the obligatory picture of Ernie growing up

& just being plain cute...

& his big brother who is always cute too

The hubs shoveling snow

Spent time Bible Journaling

I spent the rest of my Saturday once again sitting on the couch & watching the rest of the A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Exciting Saturday night

I have to stay in the living room on the couch because we take slow doses in letting Ernie have access to the house. We did this with Harvey too. We've found out the closer they are to the door, the more they tend to know to go out of it to go potty.  If they have access to the back of the house, its like they forget where the door is & just potty on the rug. Ernie does great when he's limited to the kitchen & living room.  We'll work our way back to my room where all my knitting & DVR recorded shows are....I hope its REALLY soon.

Sunday, I did venture back out in the cold to go to MSM.  The kids were laughing at me because I was doing "far away hugs" - especially for the people that I had seen on FB or Instagram that they were sick during the week.  I kept reminding everyone I loved them, but germs scare me.  Luckily, everyone understood & those far away hugs were fun. haha  #airhug

I had to run into Target - because Sunday...

Yes, that's a dog in a cart at Target....
I loved it. They had his bed in there & he was so good - didnt bark once & just people watched.

& stopped at Starbucks - because Sunday
& then came home to snuggle back up.

Sunday vibes
& then it was time to watch the sun go down on another day

But on a good note - I am excited - because I'm off work today!!!!!
The first time IN MY LIFE that I am off work for Martin Luther King Jr. Day!! WHAT?!?!?!?.... I am just shocked about it - & kept forgetting I actually got the day off.
So another 4 day work week ahead for me.... I'll take it!!!
