The clip from Spiderman was where the Green Goblin is holding Mary Jane in one hand & a tram full of kids in the other (wow - the Green Goblin is strong holding a 2 ton cable car)... but he stands there & says to Spiderman - "We ARE who we chose to be - NOW CHOOSE"!!! Lots of insight right there! Joshua 24:15 even said "... then choose for yourselves THIS DAY whom you will serve..."

What I learned...
Tell me you cant teach from every day things.... the examples in my lesson today were a clip from the movie "Spiderman" & a Christina Aguilera video!!! Oh Yes it was! (Had to channel Mary from "So you think you can dance" there!).... you gotta do SOMETHING to keep these kids minds current - but the messages can still be timeless!
Also loved the part where the Green Goblin is attacking Spiderman & all of a sudden, the people on the bridge start throwing things at him to distract & then they yell, "You mess with one of us, you mess with ALL of us"!!!
1 Peter 5:8 says "Be self controlled & alert.. your enemy, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour"
Lions prey on the weak - the sick - the ones who are struggling - the ones who are left alone! In this clip, we see Spiderman struggling to save all these people so the Goblin goes in for the kill... but the others stand up & protect him!
I LOVED this part of the clip! Reflects how we should know we are NEVER alone! That as Christians - we are part of a family that can intercede in prayer for us, can help us along with Christian decisions - can help defend us! Look at that line again & think about it as a group of Christians....
"You mess with one of us - you mess with all of us"... take that Satan!!!
So that's part of the lesson I gave... the other part - the Christina Aguilera part.. I'll save that for tomorrow...
& remember... "With great power, comes great responsibility"

I do this all the time! I work in higher education as an academic advisor. Part of our ongoing professional development is to doing "coaching" with other advisors to make sure we are staying fresh and up to date. I lead these coachings and use movie clips and things all the time! I love what you did and love your message. : )
