Thankful Thursday #245

Light in Barn
My mom had found these little light bulbs that are super cute to hang... I think they are mainly for decorations on porches or to use for camping.  They run off batteries.  So mom thought about getting them to use in the barn where the electricity doesnt reach.  With the dark winter evenings coming, my brother & Ricky set them up & man oh man... this is life changing for us!!!  I'm sure the cold will kill the batteries super fast - but man, it'll be worth it to stock up on batteries at Sam's Club or Amazon for the light!

24 Years
It feels like yesterday that I walked down the aisle... but how much life have we lived in those 24 years?  Love we've done it together.

Flowers
I had white flowers for my wedding & the day before our wedding, Ricky had sent me 3 dozen white roses.... so now, every anniversary, he finds me white flowers to give me. Isnt that the cutest thing?  I think this may be one of my favorite arrangements he's had made for me. I love hydragenias so much anyways & the white roses with it - gorgeous. I love the vase its in too - hard to see in this pic, but its like that green soft color - our living room has that color touched in it - so this will be a vase I'll use in there for years to come.

Sweet traditions
I love that we have some traditions we do on our anniversary every year.  Eating at the Pie Kitchen is one of them that is SUPER SWEET to do each celebration.  How can you get mad at sitting & chowing down on some delicious sugary desserts?

Praying friends
We got some news that was pretty earth shaking & I loved that immediately, I had friends praying for us.  I believe in the power of prayer. There is something mighty about people lifting up concerns & requests to our Father!

Doctor worked in
So grateful that after a full night of worrying & no sleep, we had a doctor that worked us in to explain some things to us right when they opened.

Heat on in November
We did it- we made it all the way to November before turning on our heat.  We typically like to make it till October so I'm really happy we didnt have to turn it on till November 1st.

One Hour extra sleep
I loathe - DESPISE - Daylight Savings Time... but I'm always fighting to find something always to be thankful for... so I'll be thankful for that one hour extra sleep. Never mind that it will mess me up all week long adjusting to the dark & sleep change... but YES, for one day, I'll be glad for that extra hour sleep.

Amazoning November 2019 Edition

I havent done one of these posts in the longest....

I started doing these years ago & now see its a thing with a lot of bloggers.

Love it caught on because its so fun to see what everyone else finds on there.

I've snagged up some things I never knew I needed.

So let me jump back in - I'll start back a few months & get back to sharing...

I love this book light.

I have used it on books & even on my Kindle - I'm not cool enough to have a Kindle Paperwhite

I've actually used it in my bathroom when our electricity has been out too :)

You charge it up with a USB cord & the light lasts for a really long time

I'm so sensitive to facial things - & this is the only thing that doesnt break me out.

Not sure that it gives me a youthful dewy look either - I'm not that consistent with it.

But I will say, its cheaper on Amazon that in the stores.

Lee Slimming Fit Rebound Skinny Leg Jeans

These are like my favorite jeans.

They have a good stretch to them... & they are a good skinny leg.

I think I have like 4 pairs of these now.

3 Pack of Adhesive Ultra Thin Silicone Credit Card Holder

I love these things.

I put one on the back of my phone case & put my license in it & one credit card & I'm good to go.

I can go to lunch at work or just grab it to go to the store real quick.

All I need.

I will say, it stretches out - so now I have to keep the 2 cards in it - but they stay in really well with 2 cards in it.

& for $5.50... I mean, how could I not try it!

Bic Cristal Blue - 20 pens

Y;all know how much I love my pens.

I really like these Cristal pens. I love a thicker tip & these are just really nice & smooth to use.

MIRITY Women Racerback Sports Bra - Pack of 5

I'm super picky about my sports bra.

I think most of them now are so flimsy with the straps - these babies are AWESOME!!!!

You can take out the padding in the bra too to wash them & they are simple to get in out &out.

I have a new favorite go-to for my sports bra now!!!

Rummikub

My friend Meranda told me this is a super fun game, I had to get it.

I think I've scared The Hubs though because he's only played me once in this

... do I have any takers - anyone else want to meet up & play this with me?

I love a good game!!!

When it was our girl's birthday, I thought this would be perfect for her since she now runs her own lab! Talk about SCIENCE SUPER POWERS!!!

One Sentence a Day {October 2019}

I've seen all the stores move out that Halloween stuff & usher in the Holidays - because apparently the holidays all start now November 1st... m'kay .... 

But we made it through the change to Fall. FINALLY!

We had so much heat, I didnt think Fall would actually get here... 

October is so super busy for us on Birthdays & anniversaries & vacation.  

But here it is - one sentence a day!

1 - Tues /  Celebrated my momma's 72nd birthday!  #shejustmissesherhusband

2 - Wed / It takes 2 of us to hold our little itty bitty Zoe to groom her & cut her nails. #thestruggleisreal

3 - Thurs / Happy 12th Birthday to our first grandson!!! #growinguptooquick

4 - Fri / So excited to go to a Chris Tomlin concert after a LOUD day at work of listening to fans all day after a water leak. #crazydayendinginworship

5 - Sat / Took advantage of the nice fall weather to get our enclosed porch all cleaned up & ready for winter reading. #mygotospot

6 - Sun / Not having any small group in HSM left it open for a lovely date day for the hubs & I. #breakfastdatesarethebest

7 - Mon /  Ernie got to celebrate his 2nd birthday the best way possible. #allthejumping #agilitytraining

20 - Sun /  My new car has finally arrived to its home in my garage after taking 2 loads of stuff to Goodwill!!!!  #allthejunkgone #noyardsaleforus #justgetridofitall

21 - Mon /  A big happy birthday to the baby of the family #31yearsold #yesthebaby

22 - Tues /  Loved having a surprise lunch date with my awesome church sister. #chatthehouraway

24 - Thurs /  Supposed to go to Ernie's last agility class but had to take a detour when my momma was in the ER & later admitted to the hospital. #planschangeonadime

25 - Fri /  My mom's hospital room is the strangest hospital room ever. #wasntoriginallyahospitalroom

26 - Sat /  Tackled cleaning my momma's house with my sister in law after leaving the hospital to sit with her for awhile. #shesgonnabeinthereawhile

27 - Sun /  Trying to find a rehab place for mom to go to from the hospital #happywithourpick

28 - Mon /  Happy 24 years being Mrs. Vincent #itgoessofast

29 - Tues /  Did our anniversary breakfast date a day late due to the plumbers messing up our traditions. #betterlatethannever #uselessplumbers

30 - Wed / So that didnt last long for mom to be in rehab #noteven24hours

31 - Thurs /  Halloween felt like Christmas with the temperature drop all day long & it being in the 30's by the time trick or treating started. #dresslikeaneskimo

The weekend that wrapped up a week off....

So I'm back!!!

A week of vacation....

You think it looked like that?

Oh no.. you'd be sadly mistaken.

This is what more of what my vacation looked like.

Doctor's offices & hospitals & rehab centers... & license branch to renew tags... & no new sink & faucet by plumbers either... some days of feeling yucky & sick... & some days that make you stop because it takes your breath away with news that can change your world in a blink of an eye.

Oh, also didnt get to sleep in.  I was up the first 5 days by 5am... 5 AM PEOPLE... WHY??? I dont know - I couldnt sleep. I was tossing & turning & just so anxiety ridden,  I just couldnt sleep.  One night, the Hubs & I had gotten some upsetting news & neither one of us slept that entire night at all. I think maybe I got 2 hours sleep that night... which made the next day a total bust because I didnt think I could put one foot in front of the other.

So, all that to say, I guess vacation doesnt like us very much.

You know what - its what I told someone yesterday, I need to look at it through different eyes though. I cant imagine everything life threw at us last week while having to work, so if all the things that were going to fall apart in our lives & my families life, I'm glad it was the week I was off work. Right?

& it wasn't a total bust.

We got to go out to dinner to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary.
I got to go to a bookstore that the Hubs WILLINGLY let me go to... & I found some clearance books!! I even gasped when I saw  A Curse So Dark & Lonely... I've heard all the good reviews about it.

Also got to go to Lifeway Christian bookstore - which I thought was already out of business... & got 90% off some things.

I got to read through 2 books.
I got to knit a lot.

Working on 2 socks at once

Got to love on my fur babies extra.
Got to get Bruno up & moving more during the day... which his WHEELS come in today via UPS... please let it happen. Cant wait to see how he moves in them!!!
I got to binge Living with your Self with Paul Rudd & also American Horror Story: Asylum (season 2) - perfect for Halloween.

Speaking of Halloween - I also watched Hocus Pocus probably 3 times.
Even picked up a gift or two for Christmas.

& honestly, I always say, a bad day at home is still better than a good day at work, right?
Well... maybe not totally true... but I'm still grateful for the time off.

Also grateful to be back at work really.
I really do like my job & I also am a stickler for a schedule... so let's just hope that me being back on a schedule puts a little halt to all the drama life likes to toss like a flaming pumpkin at us.

Now, if only we didnt have to deal with Daylight Savings Time....
