Help a Girl out.... let's talk Coffee orders!!

It is no secret how I love my coffee shops.

Perfect for little meet ups - perfect to sit & read or knit while waiting to go somewhere - I've even used coffee shops to sit & relax while the Hubs has had a debate with 3 different cell phone companies trying to find the best deal for us... all while I'm relaxed, drinking some yummy caffeine & waiting.

But the other day, the beautiful Alexandra told me about a drink she gets at Starbucks... an Apple Chai Tea... Hold up! - I think those were my exact words to her. HOLD UP! What is that?  She told me they put apple juice in with the chai tea & you can get it iced or hot.  Doesnt a hot one sound perfect for fall?

& the other day, it was really chilly & I was walking back from lunch with my hubby & wanted a warm drink.  So I tried something new.  A Cocoa Cloud Macchiato ... it wasn't bad!  Not at all.

But I've had some drinks that have been REALLLLY bad.  So I want to know what you drink at Starbucks - or any coffee shop.  What should I try?  What is your go-to that can never go wrong? 

Bonus round - tell me what you drink because something I LOVE to do.... I keep a note in my phone on what people drink & if I know I'm going to see you, I love to buy drinks & surprise you with them. Seriously - coffee has become my love language. 

So spill the beans.... aahhh - see what I did there?  Tell me what you love to settle in with.

The weekend we were ships passing in the night...

& we're back... another week lays ahead.

We got this, right? 

This was such a nice weekend... Mother Nature gave us a beautiful break & I got lots accomplished. I feel like I'm coming out of this weekend with a blue ribbon.

Friday started off my weekend living like a single lady! 
Ricky had gone to Lexington with his coworker - its like an annual tradition for them - to see one of the first UK games.  They leave right after work, so I'm on my own.

I was supposed to meet a friend for coffee & some God talk but she ended up getting held over in nursing school - so our plans had to be changed.

I had to take some running shoes back that hurt my feet & then with planned canceled, I ended up going to Hobby Lobby.  It's a whole different experience when you know you dont have to be rushed & no one is expecting you home.

I ended up spending over an hour looking at their planners & planner accessories. 
My work sister has me so interested in Happy Planners since you can make them exactly how you want, & I'm 1000% intrigued.  Hence, the hour spent looking at planners & getting my wheels turning.

I didnt get a Happy Planner.... then.... but did come away with some more Planner stickers & 2 bullet journals.

I love my bullet journals to use as sort of a diary/journal.  These are really nice too because they lay flat & have the dot grid papers in them.  I really never knew that they had these before.  With 40% off, I had to get two.

I ended up getting home around 8:30 & then was like, now what? ... I snuggled in bed & got caught up on some shows that were DVR'ed... & then just wanted to go to sleep with The Hubs not here.

Saturday, I woke up in time for another sunrise.  I especially made sure to wake up early because The Hubs had to work & since I didnt get to see him all Friday, I wanted to see him Saturday morning.  So we wished him a quick work day & me & the Aussies sat on the front porch.  I brought my bible study out with me to read & the dogs were all intrigued about a deer they had seen run through our front yard to our neighbors yard.

It was a GLORIOUS sunrise....

It was just the perfect day.  The temps were nice & the weather was crisp...
so I did a few errands around the house - did some laundry, cleaned the kitchen, & then took some time to Bible Journal....

I wasn't going to let this day pass by for me - or the horses - so I went over & let them out early & then I went to the local park to challenge myself.  Got in a 5k.  It was so slow... SOOOO SLOWWWWW.... but I did it. It's really crazy to think how runnings & getting miles in every weekend  / every day - was a thing for me. & now, I'm struggling to get 3.1 miles.  But it's a good wake up call for me.  & I'm on a mission now & it started with this past week.

It was so cute at the area where I did my 5k because there is a campground in the back of the park & they were having a Halloween celebration that night. So all the campers were setting up decorations around their areas where they were going to pass out candy for the night. Some of them were SUPER CUTE.  I couldnt get in to take pictures or I would.  I wanted to come back at night to just see all the Halloween fun.

Out of shape - but made it!!!

I got home to finally have The Hubs home with me... & then I was back to work.  I was on a mission. GET.THE.GARAGE.CLEAN!!!!!

Ever since I got my new car, I wanted to get it in where its nice & warm. I have had to scrap my windows twice this past week & I'm not down for that.  Waiting to warm up & ice all over the car? Nope. Dont like that one bit.  #spoiled

A bad storm is coming in today too so I was really on a mission because who wants their new car dinged up with storms?  Not me.

I worked all afternoon to get my car loaded.  We had visions of a yard sale this year.  I had some good stuff out there. Shoes that were never wore - a brand new purse never used - Men's Levi jeans that Ricky barely wore - some kitchen appliances that were maybe used once, if at all... but who has time for a yard sale. I'd rather have the space & take a tax write off - so to the Goodwill it all went.  Locals - go check it out because there's a LOT of brand new stuff we just took up there!

Ricky rode with me to take one of the loads up to drop off & then we went to grab some supper....

We hadn't had Penn Station in forever... their fries are the best. Between those & their lemonade, I'm a happy girl.

We stopped & did some shopping looking for a doggie bed for Bruno - a new fluffy one for his 19 year old bones....

We got home & I just could not go to sleep.  I ended up catching up on Grey's Anatomy & The Good Place & Single Parents.  Needless to say, I was up till nearly 1am... which ironically, Ricky said he woke up at 1:30am.  We had been like ships crossing in the night all weekend long apparently.

Sunday, I guess not falling asleep till so late, I missed my sunrise.  I woke up with the sun peeking through my windows on my face.  8am.  Havent done that in the longest!!!!

I had to hurry up & get ready for church & loaded up the 2nd batch of Goodwill stuff & then ran to let the horses out super early so they could enjoy the beautiful day too.

Off to church... we hadn't had HSM small group in 2 weeks for Fall break so it was great seeing all my girls again. It was like the first day of small group too because they were all gabby & chatty & giggly... it was super fun being with them.

It was really cool because our sound system was down at church (that part isn't cool) - but with no loud mics & no amps, we had to worship acoustic style - like REAL acoustic style.  All you could really hear was just the sound of all the voices around.. it was just so special to me.  I love in those moments to sit & listen for a little bit.  It gave me all the campfire singing feels.

I headed out after to go do some more Planner shopping... hello Joann's & Michael's... & hello all the Happy Planner sales. I got some good stuff. I'll share in our next Planner post!!!

Dropped off the Goodwill load, got some lunch for The Hubs & I & then look what I was able to do....

Me & mom went to the store & I had to put the horses up & then it was home to finally - FINALLLLLY - relax for a hot second... & gear up for the week ahead. 

Lots happening this week too with Bible Study & Ernie's last agility class & library trips planned.  That'll make the week zoom by - I'm sure!

2 yrs old, 15 years old & 31.1 miles {Thankful Thursday #242}

Ernie Birthday
I cant believe my baby boy is 2 years old.  How fast did that go. I always cringe a little at each of my dog's birthdays. I dont want them getting older!!!

It worked out perfectly that Ernie's birthday fell on his agility day.  He just LOVES when we pull into their driveway because he knows he gets to see all his human & fur & feather friends.  He even got to do long jumps on this day - nothing Ernie loves more than to SKY through the air. Maybe his name should have been Superman! :)

Surprise Lunch Date
Yep, most of you know that Wednesday is my lunch date with the hubs - but on Tuesday, it was so nice out - so FALL like - that I was planning on walking a bit for lunch. I happened to call Ricky to tell him something & he said, "I'll call you back, I'm here to order my lunch" - I asked where he was & when he told me, I was only 2 block away... DETOUR!  I ended up surprising him & we had an extra little date day thrown in.  That was fun.  Always like getting a breather in a work day with him.

Fresh Hair
I'm telling you - when every 6 weeks comes by, I am in such need for a refresh on these gray hairs that are wagging war against me.  It's crazy what winning this battle over them does to my spirits - at least for a few weeks.

New Car Gas Tank
OK... I'm used to a tank of a car with a V6 Engine... & with that, comes paying for fuel & doing it frequently.  I had to fill up my car minimum every 6 days - could never make it a week on a regular schedule - & it was a hefty price to fill up too.  When gas was at its highest, it was nothing for it to be $65.00 a week to fill up.
Cue to now & my new 4 Cylinder car... Ricky told me I'd save money with this car but OH MY GOSH!  I'm now 12 days out from my last fill up & even when I do fill it up, its so much less out of my pocket too! ... This is a nice side effect of a smaller car!!!


Twins Birthday
The birthdays just keep rolling this month & this is a double decker in one day. My twin nieces turned 15!!! They can get their drivers permit now y'all.... nope nope nope & nope. I'm not handling this well.  I'll be sitting up with their mom & dad worrying now.

Julie is an ULTRARUNNER!!!
She did it - a 50k!  I can't believe it... so proud of her.  It took her 9 hours & 5 minutes but she finished 55 minutes before the cut off time & her goal was 9:59 - to eek in at the end. She had plenty of time to spare.  She's never even done a full marathon before - but she had devoted so much time to training for this & has herself in the best shape ever - what an example of a momma she is for her boys.  I told her I'm in total awe of what she's accomplished. I'm glad she crossed that finish line - but more so, that she crossed it healthy & strong!

Feels like Fall
I am so glad that we finally got FALL FEELING DAYS!!! Not only for us, but for the dogs & for the horses who got to stay out & enjoy all the fresh air!  Now, if only winter will give us a little bit of time before it moves in.

Heading into Fall with my planner {Keep it Together}

I joined in last month with the beautiful Alexandra for her link up with planning & scrap booking & I was really surprised at all the questions & feed back & interest... so here I am again...

Mainly because I have taken a new love with my planner & love to show you what I'm doing with mine, & because each month/week can look different, I love seeing what others are doing in theirs too.  If my planner helps someone else learn to use their planner in a new way too - that's just even more of a reason to join in with these posts.

And because we are just in October, these posts tend to run a month behind on my layouts...

Saying all that - we kicked off September & on the first of the month, I was so super stoked to change my cover.

I got this from Stylish & Co. - actually got like 5 planner covers when they had a 4th of July sale... that's telling you how long its been since I have been wanting to put this cover on my planner.

They have some super cute things if you're looking for planner lovelies.

We'll dive into my lay outs for September... which was a 5 week month. I think its the only one in my whole planner that has 5 weeks... maybe there's one other... so you get an extra layout this month.

Also, you'll note that some of the pages have marks out or where it looks like blank areas - I covered up some personal info... most of it are dollar amounts & the majority of it is suprises for others that may not have them yet - or they are personal things of others that they may not want shared on here - so if you see a big blank area, I've just photoshopped it out.

This first one, I was lazy with changing my brush color so its just white... oh well.

But I had fun with a Pretty in Pink layout for the first week of September. 
Even drew in a little paper airplane to reschedule Ernie's agility from Monday to Thursday. That is a cute little touch.

I also tried a little charting differently to keep track of my stuff I'm supposed to take every night - supplements, things for my iron/hemoglobin levels.

As you can see, I fail wonderful at taking my Turmeric.

Here's Labor Day week.
I really liked this color combo of the teal & yellow.  It turned out better than I thought it would.
This was when Car shopping was kicking in gear for me on the weekend.

Week 3 had me doing another color scheme I really enjoyed - the coral & light blue together - also using some more of my stickers with my little cactus. 

I am such a fan of the sticker books that you can get at Hobby Lobby, or Michaels - they make everything so super cute!!!

Here's week 4

If you notice the temps at the top where I've been keeping my weather, it was in the 90's's all week long - no wonder I'm back to using Spring colors.

Also, I changed my little charting on the side - tried adding it to the bottom of each day. I didnt enjoy doing it - so this is the only week that you'll see it in this month.

& finally started digging into more fall colors.  What I'e been dying to do.

Once again, loving using my little stickers.

The ladies are from the stickers that are called Squad Goals... & the little drink & leaves are from the new sticker set that just came out that is called Fall ... I got the Fall & Winter & am going to zoom through these books fast.

& just for fun, I did get in this month my 2020 planner from Plum Paper. 

I decided to give them a try because I got to design it how I wanted AND it was much cheaper than the Erin Condren with a Labor Day sale they had.  I'm super happy with how it looks....

We'll OBVIOUSLY be talking more about it down the road & I'll show you the way I designed it.

So there you go - another month down. 

I'm already having fun with October so can't wait to share that with you....
