So Tuesday was a total miss. I actually dressed for the work out & that's right when Ricky called with the news he locked his keys in the car. By the time I got down there & took Bruno in the store & got home, it was nearly 7:30 - just enough time to make dinner & then time to wind down. No way was I going to do a work out that late. First one scratched for the training period.
I also had a weak spell in my diet this week. Cadbury Eggs.
I knew this was going to happen. I do good most of the time, but Cadbury Eggs to me is just the BEST sweet treat that ever existed. I was having a rough day on Thursday & had to stop at the grocery to get some bread & there they were .... calling my name. Taunting me. I was weak. What can I say. Hopefully that's out of my system now & I can continue to walk by them like I dont know of their existence.
I did make 2 Vegan recipes this week.
Our favorite - the Poblano & Portobello Fajitas. They were DELICIOUS. Ricky even wanted more when he had 2 huge ones. I do think that anything topped with avocado though gets an automatic win in the dinner pile though.
I have to say, my body is just still feeling 'off' & even working out, its just leaving me achy & yucky feeling. I did the 4 miles & felt pretty decent during the run - but the soreness up to 2 days later was horrible. Made me feel like I'm nearing 80 years old.
I'm just trying to be patience with myself & give some grace ...
I'll get where I want to be. Just gotta keep PRESSING ON!!!
Onto week 3
A former roommate of mine used to bring us homemade Cadbury eggs. For reals, her mom would make these giant homemade chocolate and cream filled eggs and they were kind of amazing. The plus side is that the real things are no longer overly appealing! Those fajitas look really good!
ReplyDeletehahahah the eggs/cadbury! that made me laugh.
ReplyDeletei worked on my hammies last wednesday and they JUST stopped hurting me yesterday!
Whew... even with the skipped workout you have me out of breath reading that. Yay for sticking with yoga Sundays, though! I am not a fan of Cadbury eggs, but that's good because I have PLENTY of other weaknesses I give into! Ha!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely takes our bodies time to get used to things! I hope this week is going better :) Those fajitas look amazing. I'm lucky I'm not too into the cadbury eggs. Candy corn is my downfall.
ReplyDeleteHang in there girl. It will all come together.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Easter candy is out already (who am I kidding, i'm surprised 4th of July decor is not out yet..haha).
ReplyDeleteDo you like the big chocolate cadbury eggs or the little crunchy ones?
Cadbury eggs are my love language.
ReplyDeleteThey already have Cadbury eggs at the stores? They are my favorite too! So delicious and yummy and diet ruiners. :D My main workout is swimming (outdoor heated pool) and it has been so rainy lately that I need to find something to do indoors on those days.
ReplyDeleteCadbury eggs don't tempt me, but the Girl Scout Thin Mints sure do. Oh my gosh, I can eat and entire box in minutes. Let's not go there. Hang in there. You are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough time - New Year's Resolutions and Training programs vs. Girl scout cookies, Valentine's candy, Easter candy ... It's hard to stay strong, so I say one weak day is fine. :)
ReplyDeleteI've missed too many workouts already so I'm hoping that I can get back on the wagon tonight. I definitely feel more 'blah' when I don't get a run or workout in.
You are going an awesome job!! I was having a great healthy eating week last week, and then I found a Reese's peanut butter cup Santa in the cabinet and couldn't help myself. It was worth it though. :)
ReplyDeleteThose fajitas look delicious! Hang in there friend, you're doing great!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for being honest with your training lately. And for hanging in there!! Good for you. You'll get it.
ReplyDeleteI swear just when you get a good routine going they put the valentines and easter stuff in stores, lol. I do have a weakness for the caramel eggs, but try to limit myself!
ReplyDeleteI think you are still doing great at your training. Those tacos sound really good and I can never pass up my favorite holiday treats.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who loves Cadbury eggs too, its funny because she has to move around the world a lot with her husbands job and she's constantly begging for people to mail her eggs. I bet it's only a matter of days then before she starts posting on FB soliting people to send them to her again, LOL
ReplyDeleteThose taco's look amazing, it's been forever since I had Mexican food, I definetly need to correct that, LOL
Those fajitas look soooo good - totally offset the Cadbury Eggs ;) My weakness is that shelf of a million different types of Russell Stover eggs, especially anything with dark chocolate! Good luck with next week of training!
ReplyDeleteMeg, Borrowed Heaven
Girlfriend, stay positive! You got this! I'm totally gonna try and get my exercise started back again this weekend. Had to get past the birthday month first! :)
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh Cadbury eggs!!!! That breakfast meme is so me, they're the only eggs I eat haha. I walked past them when I was grocery shopping and I didn't get them bc of whole 30 but I know when it's over next week I won't be as strong lol
ReplyDeleteWeek two is always one of the more difficult weeks for me whenever I start a new training regime--it lacks the enthusiasm of the starting line (week one) and the built-up fitness of subsequent weeks, so it's usually a tough one to get through. But yay for you! You're through it! (And I hope you're feeling better---I saw that you got the stomach flu this last weekend---NOT FUN!).
