Friday Fragments

Half-Past Kissin' Time

I was one day short this week... & it STILL felt like a horribly long week
If you hadn't seen the big news on Facebook or Instagram
then here you go...

Say hello to our 3rd grandbaby...
what a beautiful alien blobby looking baby

Julie is due on March 17th
which make me excited thinking we're going to get a red head on St. Patrick's Day!
We love you already little one

So my doctor called with the test results from last week.
She said my Ferritin levels were low
... which SURPRISE, has to do with protein in your iron levels...
I was instructed to eat a minimum of 60g a protein a day... so I've been on the hunt for some yummy protein bars.
Harder then you may think

I was a tad depressed this morning
It was darker then usual on my drive into work
... that means the daylight is ticking away...
I always hate that every fall/winter season

My twin nieces are now in 3rd grade....
3rd grade people!!!!
What the heck!!!

& if that don't freak you out, my grandbabies are BOTH in school
Isaac is in Kindergarten & Luke has started Pre-K for half days

Sleeping in the damp air during the weekend Merge Camp retreat
has taken a toll on me

I have sounded like Barry White all week

Finally got to watch Silver Linings Playbook

Bradley Cooper & Jennifer Lawrence were great in it
I can see why they got all the buzz earlier this year

But was surprised how different it was from the book
But I still liked the movie
That rarely happens...

If you stray from the book, I'm usually instantly against the movie

TV Time

Bachlorette:  I didn't see that coming! I thought for sure Brooks was coming back.  I have to say though, I was happy that she choose Chris.  & I can understand what she was saying that when Brooks was gone, she saw what was there all along.... now, I'm just saying she's a lucky girl that Chris understood.  Watching all that back HAD to be uncomfortable for him.

I still give it 6 months

Big Brother:  Poor Judd ... totally blindsided.  HOW & WHY are these people so dumb.  They KNOW Amanda & Helen are running the house but no one does anything to change it - just let them make the decisions.
This has got to be the worst season ever!
I'm just glad Judd left with his bear shirt on!

Real Housewives of New Jersey:  So do you think someone told Teresa to be more forgiving, & to calm down the crazy a bit this year?  Trying to make amends with everyone... not like her...

Project Runway:.... I totally forgot it had come back on... is it worth trying to catch up online?

My brother sent me this this morning...

if you love legos or if you love Wizard of Oz - watch it
its pretty amazing

I would have to think the total of this thing to make was in the THOUSANDS!

  1. I swore I wouldn't watch Project Runway again after last season (which I did skip) but I've been watching. I think there are a couple of talented people but the rest of the people aren't that great. I wouldn't worry about catching up. If you want to watch just jump in.

  2. Oh wow, awesome!! That Lego Oz is amazing!!!

Yay for the 3rd grandbaby coming. Congrats! They all grow up so fast, don't they??

  3. Try these for protein...;)

And I'm reading another book by Matthew Quick (author of Silver Linings Playbook) called Boy 21. Clayton had to read it for school and he was confused by it, so I am reading it to see if I can make sense of it. It's a little out there, but good. I'll let you know whether it's worth the read :)

    Have a great weekend!!

  4. We like Cliff bars--they're very good and come in lots of different flavors! The Oh Yeah bars are good too.

  5. Congrats on the new addition! And I understand the "Whaaaaat?" -- my son is hinting 4th grade this year. Blows me away. And btw, I love the Minions so any excuse to see them makes me smile!
    Happy Friday!

  6. Congratulations on the new grandbaby!!!! Woo hoo!

Gosh...cannot believe that your grandsons are starting school. Can you believe how long we have been bloggy, Facebook, and reality-show friends?! Milestones like this make me love our friendship even more!!!

  7. Many of the protein bars have a lot of sugar and crap ingredients. I recently read a review on some bars-wish I could remember where. Maybe try googling reviews on bars. Also, quinoa is a good protein and easy to eat during the day. (I eat it like oatmeal with a little maple syrup and milk-yum.) Congrats on the news of another grandchild!

  8. So Chocolate Covered Katie has a protein bar recipe that I really like. I use almond butter instead of peanut butter, since I'm allergic, hmmmpff...... anyway..... I like them, but not sure how much protein they have in them, but may be worth checking out.

I also really like Luna bars, but not sure how much protein is in them. Sprouted Tofu is a good option for soy that is safer to eat. Protein is a tough one when your vegetarian. Tough.

I love you friend ~~ dawn

  9. P.S. =) There is 7.1 grams of protein in the homemade bars, so you would have to eat 9 1/2 of them a day. =) Just thought I'd pass this tidbit along =)
