MY AVERAGE RATING FOR 2017
So I didnt make my goal..& I really slacked off the last few months. With the job change & life being upside down with that - & add in puppy watch duty - I just have lost my reading mojo
But looking back, I do see some of my favorite books of the year.
My total favorite - A Man Called Ove - LOVED this book!

& of course, my Steven Curtis Chapman biography mentioned above. It was wonderful!!!
I also was so proud of my friend for writing her book Meet Me Under the Stars.

Also excited for a few new Beauty & the Beast books - As old As Time is really one of my favorite books I've read in a Beauty and the Beast story line.

So glad I finally got all The Selection series book & have loved the entire thing.

& of course, loved that my pastor Kyle Idleman had two books on my list.

& loved that 2 series books ended this year with The End of Oz & with Always & Forever Lara Jean

& I also finally got in my first books by Erin Hilderbrand & Taylor Jenkins Reid & not disappointed by either.

.. & also loved finally getting to meet my spirit animal - Dumplin'

So while I didnt reach my goal, I think I had more good than bad this year -
& I'm getting settled into work where I can read at lunch again so I'm expecting a good reading 2018!!
What was your favorite book of 2017?
Ahhh loved Dumplin’!
ReplyDeleteNice recap! I didn't reach my goal either, but I read a lot of great books and I'm not upset with my reading year overall :) Better late to the link-up than never!!
ReplyDeleteThis wasn't a good year for me goal-wise either. It's not just that I didn't hit my book goal (24 of 40), but the number of pages was embarrassingly low! I'm hoping to finsh a book (or two) in the remaining 5 days to at least bring the number of pages over 10,000 :( 2017 was not a good year overall -- but of the books I read, most were very good!
ReplyDeleteYou've basically convinced me to sign up for goodreads so that I can see stats like this! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to finish the Selection series this year! Happy reading in 2018!
ReplyDeleteeh, who cares about the goal? quality vs quantity and all that. you read some great books this year. yay TJR! i haven't read an Elin Hilderbrand book yet. Maybe in 2018. A Man Called Ove is on my list, I have only read Beartown of his and from what I gather you either love or hate Ove lol. As Old As Time is on my TBR!
ReplyDeleteOoh, those stats on Good Reads are so cool! I didn't know it could do that. I've really got to get back on there so I can keep track of what I've read and what I want to read. Dumplin is high on my list.
ReplyDelete38 books is still a FABULOUS number---more than I read most years over the past decade, for sure! And how cool is it that your pastor is a published author?!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite read of 2017 that I remember was Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate.
ReplyDeleteAlso the Angels Walking Series by Karen Kingsbury was awesome. I read all 3 of those this year. And Counted with the Stars by Connilyn Cossette was good too.
DeleteI read 71 books this year. 71!!! What the heck! I had to laugh that the shortest & longest were by the same author (David Baldacci).
ReplyDeleteP.S. How was the Oz book? Did the series end on a good note?
DeleteI still want/need to read One True Loves!

You put my book reading to shame this year, but I know it's only my fault lol. Now I have some good things to put on my 2018 list. I hope you had a great Christmas!! Sierra~Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteDid you read all of TJR's books? If not, go for it!

ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to look at book stats from the year, and I think reading good books is way better than meeting a number of books, if you're just not into what you're reading.
ReplyDeleteI have not read Dumplin' yet. Hangs head in shame. Seriously, I have to read that book! I also read my first TJR book this year and I'm excited to read more of her catalog. I've also wanted to read the Dorothy Must Die series and hearing it ends well, makes me very excited! Here's to more great reading in 2018!
ReplyDeleteI want to go in and look at my Goodreads stats now.
ReplyDeleteLoved loved loved Dumplin.
Taylor Jenkins Reid is one of my favorite authors, and that is my favorite book of hers! I have A Man Called Ove...I need to read it!
