Friday Fragments

Half-Past Kissin' Time

Look at me... back to Fragging...

I didn't have time to do a Vlog... & its a shame too because I got my hair done this week & its still slick & shiny & smooth...

& I don't have five solid things to think about for Five on Friday... so I'm just letting my brain run its course...

Fragging it is..

Its sleeting this morning... with snow hitting us later this afternoon.  & MORE ice this weekend.  I think I'm going to lock myself in the house till Monday.

Son of a nutcracker
This is how I feel about the snow & ice

Bad thing about locking yourself in the house during December?  I need to Christmas shop!

The bad thing about Christmas shopping - I need more money
... who just said, "Yep" or "Amen sister"

I am stumped, as every year, on what to get the Hubs for Christmas.
Why are men so hard to buy for?

Anyone watch The Sound of Music?  Twitter was all abuzz about it.  Both positive & negative.  People were forgetting that this was based off of the Broadway play - not the movie, so when Maria is singing "Favorite Things" to a nun instead of with the kids, I think some people's head exploded

I thought Carrie Underwood's voice was awesome... but her acting skills? Ouch

Could have been worse - it could have been a version by Liz Lemon

Liz Curtis Higgs retweeted one of my tweets about her book.  I felt like someone special for a moment in time.

I laugh that my spell check wants to correct the word "retweeted" ... come on Spell Check!  Don't you know that the word "selfie" is in the dictionary now.  (Yes, Spell check wants to correct "Selfie" too) ... welcome to the world of 2013-the world of made up words.  Bootylicious is still not a word I use every day, thankyouverymuch

I need to go steal .... or borrow... a child for a few hours.
I'm DYING to go see Frozen - the new Disney movie!
Idina Menzel & Kristen Bell!  & that's really Kristen Bell singing!
I'm just afraid the cute little snow man melts.
... I'm still traumatized in the Frosty the Snowman where he turns into a puddle

  1. Add to it that two songs that you don't have in the movie were in the play version and LORD HAVE MERCY....THE TWITTER EXPLODED! Man alive. I had to stop reading the tweets (and like my "reminders" made any difference. When will I learn?). And I agree. Carrie can sing. But acting? Nope. Not even close. I loved it--but it would have been better with a broadway actor as Maria.

  2. I agree, Carrie sang beautifully last night, but her acting was not the best I've ever seen. Poor thing...can you imagine doing all that LIVE? Talk about pressure! I couldn't handle it! Girl...I have the hardest time figuring out what to get Chris for Christmas...not a CLUE!!! Stay warm...it's 73 and balmy here! UGH! Hey...stop by today and enter my giveaway!

  3. I totally hear you about the retweet. Tory Johnson retweeted one of my tweets about her spot on Good Morning America and I felt a little like a rock star!

I am with you on Frosty turning into a puddle. I BAWLED when I was a kid. I am eager to see "Frozen" too but I think we're saving it for a Winter Break activity.

    Have a great weekend.

my kidney stone really put me behind the 8 ball as far as Christmas..nothing up yet and not able to get out to shop (now due to an ice storm)...I am SO grateful for on-line shopping this year!!! :)

  5. I'm clueless about what to get Mike too - I never know. I'd like, just one year, to really surprise him in a GOOD way :) (ooh I just thought of something but I'm sure I can't afford it - off to check now!).

  6. I didn't watch The Sound of Music because I couldn't stand the movie :-( In elementary school, we were forced to watch in a couple of times and I didn't like it. I've heard mixed things about it.

  7. I taped The Sound of Music so hopefully will get to see it this weekend. I love her voice, but am not sure about the acting. I saw Soul Surfer. 'nuff said : )

    I heard Frozen was great!

  8. I taped it and won't watch it for another week when my daughter gets home.

Can't help you on gifts for your hubby. Mine is so easy to buy for.

  9. I didn't jump on the Sounds of Music bandwagon... it's a classic... you can't mess with the classics!!!!!!!!!! Carrie Underwood has an amazing voice, but, I just feel like it should never have been touched!

  10. I chose to have no expectations with Sound of Music…I just wanted to enjoy it and see Carrie Underwood sing! I agree with you and others…acting is not her thing, but she can sing and I truly enjoyed watching it with Gracie! She loves Carrie!

The kids saw Frozen while I was shopping with my mom on black Friday…they loved it, but said it had sad parts :(
