The weekend that I suffered from animal guilt....

First... bah humbug to all those that are off today.

No fair. Not fair at all.  I want a 3 day weekend!  Color me jealous.

I will say I did cram a lot in the weekend & enjoyed every single minute of it.

Friday started off with temps inching on up to Spring like temps again.  Perfect for taking my book outside & finishing it up.  Reading outside is just my happy place in life.

& then my next happy place in life was when the sun goes down & I went & finished up some knitting.

This cowl sold as soon it was up on Instagram. I love when that happens.
That same person also bought my yellow cowl that was my favorite piece in the Etsy store.  I like this lady... she has good taste ;)

Friday ended up with catching up on some TV... Jane the Virgin has me totally wrapped in right now... & The Vampire Diaries! I cant believe we're only 3 episodes away from the end.  I'm going to be lost without the Salvator Brothers.

Saturday, I have to say, I wasn't too happy when the hubs forgot to turn his alarm clock & I was up a little after 5am.... sigh...

I was able to fall back asleep for a little bit but that just throws me off for the day.

Oh well... I wanted to get out & get in my run for the day before some expected rain settled in.  I always love to get the miles done early too ... its just harder to do as the hours tick away in a day.

6 miles in the books

It was still feeling pretty nice out so I took to my porch again & read in another book some... with my other reading buddy.  I think my dog's happy place is also when I read outside.

I then did some productive things like clean & some Bible Study stuff & work on another little project.
A friend of mine asked me if I knew how to make those little newborn tiara's... so I gave it a try. & was so pleasantly surprised at the outcome.

But now - I'm not sure if it actually fits a newborn.  To me, I think it looks small... Ricky said he thinks it'll be too big.  I'm not sure the size of a newborn head.  I need a newborn near me STAT.  If anyone has a newborn - like a 1 month old or under, LMK - I'll mail this tiara to them & they can try it out & let me know & keep it for the trouble.  I need to get my sizes down ... I'd love to make these for all ages

... heck, I'm going to make me one soon too.  Why not?
Perfect for the Beauty & the Beast movie viewing?... hmmm....

Sunday, we headed to church.  I just loved our MSM message.  We had the kiddos make up these 'bricks'... & they had to write on them the things that can build a wall to God.. the things that try & keep you from Him.  The hard things in life that we feel like God doesnt see.  The promises that God gives us.  It was just such a powerful lesson.  The kids loved making the bricks... & then writing down on them what their individual issues were... & then the wall was built to show what can happen if we let these things grow & grow.

Those bricks all have things written on them... such a cool visual

& of course, we saw that wall come tumbling down too.

I just love my church... it's just always delivering the best messages for these kiddos.

Ricky & I left church & headed to one of the few places that offers a veggie burger.  Except when it was delivered, I said to Ricky, "This looks like the most real burger I've ever seen"... & then let Ricky take a bite to which he said, "DONT EAT IT - ITS MEAT"....

Yuck... just YUCK!!

You would have thought there was a snake on my plate or someone was trying to poison me. GASSSPPPPPPP!!!!  I got the waiters attention & told him that he just sat a dead animal in front of me... (I didnt really put it like that)... & he looked at us like, "Sorry, but can you still eat it"... I had to tell him he couldnt pay me enough to make me eat this burger so we had to wait for another round of veggie burgers to be made.  We really didnt mind & the guy kept apologizing to us & we said we were fine... this was the only day we really had no plans or time constraints so it was nice to just sit back & relax for a bit.

& in the end... 2 yummy veggie burgers were had.

The VEGGIE BURGER... no animals were harmed in the making of this burger

Though I felt even worse that that poor cow died for a burger that ended up getting tossed.
I always feel animal guilt.  You should see me walking through a grocery story.  I keep my head down & eyes averted in the meat department.   #truestory

We had to pick up some things at Target... someone please tell me how I run into Target for a few things & come out spending $75.00... HOW?????....

& then settled in for a quick visit from our Nashville gang.  They had to come up for a Memorial service for a family member this morning.  Sad reason to see them, but always nice to see everyone even for a little bit.

& so, another weekend in the books.  Enjoying all the spring like temps as long as I can because they're saying the rug is being pulled out from under us & the cold is coming back next weekend.... great... I'll be bundled up like an Eskimo for my next long run.

So how was your weekend?

You having spring temps?

Do you spend ridiculous amounts of money walking into Target?

Falling apart, airing out & the best Valentine's a girl could have....{Thankful Thursday #112}

Image result for grateful quotes

This week I am Thankful For:
{The numbers so with my One Thousand Gifts Journal / Just ignore them}

113 / Icy Hot.
Am I 95 years old? My body feels like it.  When you hurt yourself just sleeping, you know you're basically falling apart at the seams. But I did just that.  Woke up one morning with my upper back, shoulder area in so much pain.  It's been over a week now & I can just now turn my head without flinching.  Still working on bending my head all the way down.  But Icy Hot/Ben Gay/Biofreeze - all of them - have been my best friend lately.

117 / Treadmill seemingly ok.
Ever since it flinched on me last week, I've been a nervous wreck on it. I even got one the next day & turned it on - could hear the motor running but the belt wasnt moving.  I ended up taking one foot & moving it via old school skateboard style... & then it started moving. So I turned it off, turned it back on - & viola - so far so good. I guess that skateboard move is the equivalent of CTRL+ALT+DELETE for treadmills!  ... I will say, I am still skeptical... but at least I've gotten another safe week out of it.

this never gets old to me... ever...

120 / Fast snow.
I keep talking about how we're getting a break from winter, so I was shocked when Harvey came in the other night covered in snow. WHAT?  & we had big ole flakes. Enough to cover up the grass & cover up our porch.  But it was even more wonderful because it was all melted as soon as the sun rose the next day.  My kinda snow.

124 / Windows open in the house.
Did you know fresh air can work miracles. Its true. I seriously believe in fresh air.  & I even looked it up to see many many reports on how fresh hair can help rid germs & help lesson the spread of it.  So when it was in the 60's all weekend, I made sure to open a few windows in our house - alternating a few at a time. I read where 2 hours of fresh air can make a world of difference, so I would do 2 hours in the front of the house, then close it & then 2 hours in the bedroom & so on.... I'm all about airing out the house in case we keep carrying in all these horrid germs that just seems to be rotating in & out of everyone's houses this winter.

126 / 5 miles.
I haven't ran 5 miles in the longest ... & now, I'm a little freaked out thinking that I'm going to be adding a mile every weekend for awhile.  6 miles this weekend.  Be prepared to see that on next week's list as well.

Forgot to wrap my knees & was nervous the whole run... & did good except for one quick pain, but made it! 🙌 #pressonandrun #halfmarathontraining #running #ihavearunnersbody #run #irunthisbody:

128 / My Etsy support friend
I have the sweetest friend who is just the best at supporting my Etsy store. She's always messaging me & telling me, "Its payday, what new things do you have?" ... & she's just bought her 4th... or 5th?.. I'm loosing count.... from my Etsy store.  How precious is that?  That's what you call a friend who supports you in your ventures!!! Thanks Jenny for being just the BEST!!!!

132 / My ADORABLE husband on Valentine's Day.
Oh my gosh everyone.  I still am gushing at how sweet my husband is.  I always tell him not to do anything on Valentine's Day. It just kills me that the price of things are so jacked up on that day... so tell me how shocked I was when I walked in from getting my hair done to see Ricky standing at the door & telling me to come in the living room.

There, he had set up a table with dinner he picked up at the Chinese restaurant that I love... & he had Aladdin playing - which I know some of you will be like, "Why not Beauty & the Beast?" - but Aladdin was one of the first movies we went to see when we were dating... & while I am forever blue & true to BatB - "A whole new world" was always our song when we were first dating. (cue the ahhhhhs).... & he had me a Thomas Kincaid Tangled Puzzle - I have all the princess Thomas Kincaid puzzles except that one!!!... & he had me a white rose (always has gotten me white roses since we got married) ... & found me a speaking Belle Valentine's Card where she read a Valentine's poem.
HOW PRECIOUS IS THAT?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

I laughed when I saw the 'ages' for the card

& he even had the lights dimmed down & had it so nice - I had to turn on the lights to get a good picture of it all.

He even thought of dessert & bought some chocolate pies for us for dessert.

I love he even wrote "Princess Rebecca" on the card envelope

& do you know, he sat in the living room with me & watched every bit of Aladdin till it went off.

I couldnt have asked for a better Valentine's Day... nor a better Valentine.  ... (cue the ahhhhhs again)

So what good things have happened in your world this week?

This is us...

... NO!... not the show....(but isn't that show amazing?!?!?)

Since yesterday was Valentine's Day & it was the book link up, I saw this little couple quiz thing going around & thought I'd do it for a post-valentine sort of post.  Plus, its just a fun way to get to know us better.

This should be fun...

How long have you been together?
We started dating at the end of 1992 & got married in 1995.  Married 21 years now - 22 years this year... & I have to remind Ricky because he keeps telling everyone we just celebrated our 20th. I'm like, "That's SO last year"... he said his brain is stuck on 20.  I'll nudge him when we hit 25 I guess.

Image may contain: 3 people, people smiling, people standing and outdoor
Not our child... but looks like she should have been :)

Who asked who out?
I dont even really remember being 'asked out'... it was just sort of known that we were going out.  I do remember our first 'official' date was my birthday - so see?  That's just a given that we're going out.

Do you have any kids together?
Nope... we've had lot of fur-kids together.  But only 2 legged creatures?  Nope.
Ricky has 3 daughters though so I have been blessed in other ways.

Who said I love you first?
Oh man... this is trying on the memory.  The downfall of being together when the year was 1990-something...

I do remember though we were at the beginning of our relationship & wondering if this was going to continue & we were discussing what to do & I said, ''.... you know I love you too...."
So technically I said the words a loud... but like how I added the "too" there to make it look like he said it first?  #ihaveawaywithwords

Who is the most sensitive?
Depends on the subject.
Feelings hurt?  Totally me
UK basketball?  Totally him
Hurt animals?  Both of us

Where do you eat out most as a couple?
Being a vegetarian, Mexican is usually the best place we can go.  We just had this conversation last week that Mexican is usually what we eat 95% of the time.  Cant go wrong with beans & rice.
No animals were harmed in the making of those products

Image result for chuys

Who's older?
Ricky is... 10 years older actually.  He's never seemed that much older than me... ever...
Not sure if that's saying I'm more mature for my age ... or he's immature for his.  hmmmm.....

Who has the craziest ex?
.....Define "Craziest".....

Who has the worst temper?
Again ... depends.
A dirty kitchen counter after I clean? TOTALLY ME!
A UK Basketball game?... WATCH OUT WORLD.  Harvey Dent runs & hides from his daddy in his kennel every UK game

Who is more social?
ohhhh - without a shadow of a doubt, 10000% - me

Image result for socializing gif

Who is the neat freak?
that's sad.
But we'll both randomly get in moods where its like THROW ALL THE THINGS AWAYYYYYY.

Most romantic?
depends on the day.  We both have our moments.
Though I will say, Ricky did it up yesterday for Valentine's Day.  So I'll toss this one solely to him just for the surprise set up he had for me when I got home
(I'll talk about it tomorrow for Thankful Thursday)

Who is the most stubborn?
Gosh... I'm so wishy-washy on this.
I really think it depends on the topic.  Or the current mood.

When the hubs orders my #starbucks while I run to the bathroom & gets it wrong. ... but actually, sshhh, it tasted better #VincentsRockSundays 06.19.16:

Who wakes up earlier?
The hubs considers it 'sleeping in' if you're still asleep by 6am... even on the weekends.

Who's the funniest?
I would say me... though on the flip side, Ricky usually finds nothing humorous that I say or do.
Go figure.

Image result for i think i'm funny

Where was your first date?
We went to The Olive Garden & then to see the movie TOYS with Robin Williams ... the worst movie I think I have ever seen in my life.  Literally, the WORST movie EVER!

Who has the bigger family?
He does. I have only one brother... Ricky is one out of 5.

Do you get flowers often?
Usually for anniversary & birthdays & holidays...which I'll always take. I know some people dont ever get them.

Who eats more?
Please note - I could eat probably more than 99% of the population.  I am a eater.

Image result for my super power is eating

Plans date night?
We dont have children & usually are always out doing something so I always say every time we're together, its date night. No planning needed.

Who picks where you go to dinner?
Funny... just funny...
you know that game. "Whatever you want"... until you hear what they want & then you're like, Nah...
Its usually what we're closest to.

Who is the first one to admit when they’re wrong?
I dont think either one of us will admit we're wrong.
... but I will say, the hubs is usually first to apologize which makes me love him again & again.

Who wears the pants in the relationship?
There are many styles of pants, is there not?

Who eats more sweets?
OK... remember when I said I could out eat anyone? The hubs will ALWAYS win the award for the one who eats the most sweets.  The man loves his sugar.

Who cries more?
Ohhhhhh.... Let's not forget I'm the one who cries at least a few times a day.
I cry when I'm happy -I cry when I'm sad - I cry when I'm mad - I cry at commercials - I cry at something beautiful - I cry when I'm joyful... take a guess at the answer to this one.

Image result for i cry at everything gif

More sarcastic?
The hubs probably couldn't be sarcastic if he tried... me? I live by that rule.

Who makes the most mess?
..... this could be the start of an argument... I'll let it go....

Who has more tattoos?
Neither.  But I want one... & I want Ricky to get a Beast one & I get a Belle one.
We totally should, right?

Image result for beauty and the beast tattoos for couples

Better singer?
Well, I would have always thought me... but the hubs did tell me one time I wasn't as good as I thought I was sooooooooo....

Hogs the remote?
me.  Dont touch my remote.

Better driver?
He makes me nervous.... but I make him nervous.

Spends the most?
Probably a toss up.  I can spend a good bill on some yarn or Beauty & the Beast stuff...he's pretty good at keeping it even by the cost of jeans.  The man loves his jeans.

Totally him.  He can figure out any math problem you have.  He's like Rain Man when it comes to numbers.

Did you go to the same school?
Nope... being 10 years apart, it wouldn't have mattered anyways.

Where is the furthest you two have traveled?
Las Vegas babyyyyyy

Who hogs the bed?
This goes solely to Harvey Dent.

I got up this morning, walked into the kitchen to get some water & in less than 5 minutes, Harvey Dent ran around the house, got all these balls & put them in my spot of the bed. That boy. #spoileddog #rjvdogs #australianshepherd #dogsofig #mybabyboy:

Who does the laundry?
Me... only because I hate for him to touch my washer & dryer.  I have a system. Dont mess with it. Dont touch it.

Who's better with the computer?
Me... only because I'm on a computer so much more than he is.

Who drives when you are together?
Depends on the car.  If we take my car, I have to drive because I refuse to let him move my seat because I cant ever get it back to where I like it & its up too close to the steering wheel for Mr. Long Legs...

(I notice I've said not to touch the remote - my washer & dryer & now my car seat... I may have issues.)

Image result for i have issues gif
Me after typing this thing out....

Who is more annoying?
After getting that insight after that last question - apparently I'm more annoying.  By far.

So do you know us better?
Still want to be my friend? ... I promise I'll let you touch my remote
... but you still cant move my car seat.  EVER.

For the love of books on this Valentines Day.... {Show Us Your Books}

Image result for knit by god's hand books

I know its Valentine's Day... the day of love...

But in all honesty, I'm not a huge Valentine's Fan.
I mean, I love love.  But I think love should be showed every day of the year.
& I cringe when prices rise on flowers like 500% just because of the date on a calendar.

So I am glad that today happens to fall on the link up for one of the things I love - BOOKS!
Excited to roam around all the linked up blogs & see what the best reads are lately.

Here's how my past month has gone... a little bit of everything

Kathy Griffin's Celebrity Run-In's
5 / 5
I can't help it.  I love Kathy Griffin.  Something about her is just funny. I know she offends a lot of people but she makes me chuckle.  I actually did this one on audiobook because I wanted to hear the words straight out of her mouth. It didn't disappointment.
Side note - I've learned the only books I can do are biographies. I cant keep up or stick with regular audiobooks - but biographies? I LOVE hearing them out of the mouths of people that lived the stories. Its like someone is telling me their life story...
ok - moving on
I know in this audiobook, hearing Kathy's voice made it even funnier.  Her laugh & her personality in her stories... I seriously had tears in my eyes from laughing along with her.
& it was fun hearing the stories of all the different celebrities. It really did make me love some people more than I didn't think twice of before & also cause me to want to give side-eye to some other people that i really thought was pretty cool before.
To sum it up - I 100% enjoyed this audiobook. Cant tell if reading it would do the same justice.

The Sun is Also a Star
4 / 5
I loved Nicola Yoon's other book, Everything, Everything so was excited to get into this book.
This one didnt grip me in as much as the other but I still enjoyed it.
I didnt think I was going to... the story of 2 different people who cross paths by accident & one convincing the other that they were supposed to meet that day& fall in love.
By the end of the book, I was like, Yeah, this book is going to make me angry, but its the kind of the book that the prologue totally saved the day for me.  If I didnt read it, I would have given this probably a 2.  Epilogues & prologues can make a world of difference in a story apparently.

Not a Fan
5 / 5
I adored this book.  If you are wanting a book that challenges you on your relationship with Jesus & if you really are following Him like you should - or just sitting in the stands rooting Him on like a fan, then you want this book.  It is full of great examples, some eye opening thoughts & even has some great humor in it. If you read it, you gotta read the footnotes on the pages.  They are hilarious.
I can't recommend this book enough. Seriously.

Forget Love
2 / 5
Meh... that's how I reviewed it on Goodreads & yeah, that sums it up well.
It's taking the same idea of What Alice Forgot but does NOTHING as good as that book - which is one of my favorites. This one just drug out in places that was so ridiculous slow & needless & useless infomration & then the next chapter, there'd be such a skipping of information & jump that it was just aggravating.  It wasn't horrible.  I did read it all, but would I say you HAD to read it?
No - I'd tell you to read What Alice Forgot instead.

The Princess Diariest
2 / 5
OK... I felt really bad not giving this a good review, but I honestly didn't care for this book at all.
I didnt even really know anything about it until Carrie Fisher passed away & then people were talking about it.  I guess because I'm not a over the top fan, I just didnt care much about the story. But I think the over the top fan would be aggravated because I dont think she told much of anything about working on Star Wars - except about how she didnt look like the every day sex symbol or pretty girl.  It got old. Quick. ... & the affair with Harrison Ford?  Let me jab a fork in my thigh... it was just so much of nothing that she talked about. Not that I cared, but if you're going to take half of your book to tell ONE story, make it interesting at least.  Now that I think about it, I probably should have just given it 1 star instead of 2... but I'd feel like a heel doing that so I'd stick with 2 star rating
... but I wouldnt recommend it at all.

The Mistletoe Project
3 / 5
I read a Richard Paul Evans book every Christmas & always enjoy how light & easy they are to read.  Especially at the holidays.  I got around to reading this one the week into the new year & I guess loosing the holiday spirit, it had me loose a little spark for the book.
I did like this one because it involved the hunt for a blogger... gotta love a blogger... but it was predictable, nothing really special.  I do enjoy RPE writing but this is totally my least favorite out of all the books I've read of his.
Maybe next year, I'll make sure to read it when Christmas spirit is oozing everywhere.

The one to pick up?
If you want to laugh & love celebrity gab, check out Kathy Griffin's book
If you want to challenge yourself in your walk with Jesus - Not a Fan
... could my 2 top picks BE more polar opposite... perfectly describes me as a person.

The one to skip?
The Princess Diariest
... even the most adamant fan I dont think would care less what's in this book.

What are you reading right now?

Is there a MUST read book you have read lately? ... Share with me.
