The weekend we had another Christmas... with more to go....

So the Holidays are supposed to end in December?

Well, who wants that to happen when you can spread it out over weeks at a time?  Because that's what we've done for years & we're up to Christmas #4 this weekend - with actually still a few more to go. Can you believe it?

But I love it not being rushed... getting to spend time with people we love... & most importantly, a good excuse for me to keep my decorations up.   I'm sure at this point, our neighbors dont even give it a thought to see the glow of a tree coming from our windows all the way up to February.  #sorrynotsorry

Friday, when I got home, our Nashville gang was on the way up.... kiddos full of energy & pep after being stuck in a car for 3 hours... & Ricky &I were exhausted like our usual Friday night.  But we fed off their energy & was so glad to see everyone.

Saturday was a busy busy day... starting off with card games before 8am ...

& after the card games, it was time to break out more games.  We played some Guess Who, some Trouble... I taught the boys how to do Rack-o (hello 70's games!) & a lot of Go Fish, Match Games, tons of Uno... I love me some games & love that the boys love to play too.  I grew up loving & playing board games with my mom & it's just a memory that always sticks with me - so I hope to instill the same kind of joy in the boys with these fun games.

After everyone was up & moving & we had some fun at home, we loaded up the car & headed out for some lunch....

where I discovered that getting a pic of these boys with a regular face was going to be a struggle... a real struggle...

At least when you talk about holding Christmas gifts for ransom in exchange for good smiles... that makes a good difference.

We then headed to Strike & Spare - which Ricky & I had never been to but was anxious to see what the skating rink area looked like....

Let's just say, as people who roller skate... I will use the words "skating rink" in very loose quotes.  That's a sad excuse of a skating rink & it makes me even sadder that we dont have a skating rink anywhere near us anymore.

But at least there was laser tag that Ricky & the boys played... & the boys also had fun on bumper carts... & me & Ricky ended up playing some fun arcade games where we could win tickets for the boys to trade in for some junk fun stuff....

Give Ricky & I some good pinball games & we're some happy campers

The Big part of the night was bowling though.

I can't bowl with my bicep tendinitis but I was happy to watch & cheer everyone on....

Isaac did really well bowling - I was quite surprised....

Luke, bless him, tried so hard to get it down & he did better once his dad went up & asked for bumpers to be put up for him.  Poor guy was just getting so frustrated... but once some pins started falling, he was good.

William.. he was cracking us up... he kept saying he didn't need any help.  I mean, when you're 5 years old, you can surely bowl, no problem.

It was funny because Julie said, "isn't this taking so long to play one round of bowling?"... we figured out what it was... probably because every time William went to bowl, it would take about 2 full minutes for the ball to roll down the alley. I wish I could say I was joking.... & at one point, the ball even stopped in the gutter & wouldnt move. It finally got knocked out at the very end of the night.

Little dudes had fun though...

Ricky was excited to bowl - we havent done it in so long since I can't do it. It was fun watching him get his groove back again...

But then it was time to go home & open up some Christmas gifts....

Of course, everything gets ripped through super fast & boxes tossed & all the chaos ensues... the fun of Christmas when you're a kid...

Another successful Christmas in the books....

I even got smiles at the end of the night from the boys

... granted, still had one give me a crazy face... but I'll take it - he's young & cute. He can get away with it.

It was after Midnight when we went to bed on Saturday so I thought I'd sleep in for Sunday. Nope.  Back up at 6am. Dang it....

... which meant even more games & new toys to put together & play with... just like a December 25th Christmas. Who cares it January.

It wasn't long before we packed up the car for them & ran out to get lunch one more time before they headed home. The boys are back to school today after Christmas break so I'm sure Julie was anxious to get them home & get them back to routine.

My routine kicked back in when we got home & I had to go over & take care of the horses....

Tell me this isnt the most beautiful scene when I got there.....

So, another weekend chalked up... another Christmas... & we're back to regular schedules now.  Well, kinda.  But a full 5 day work week ahead.. Lord, give us strength.

How was your weekend?

Is your Christmas decorations all down?

What's your best bowling score?
