Weekend Wrapup

Whew... ready for my weekend?

Friday

* Stopped to pick up my dry cleaning... YAWWZZZAAA!!! Cost me $83.00 for 2 comforters & a pair of pants.  Next time, I think I'll just go buy a new comforter.

* Backyard time!!!!  Always so much fun... give me a mic, a reason to sing & dance... & to wear a yellow sparkly hat?  I'm all for it!

* Ricky took pictures throughout the night... I like this one... its where I was channeling my inner-Elvis... now if only I had a white cape drapped around me.

(I's gottsta moves!!!!)

* We head home because we have a phone call that two little boys & their mommy are in our driveway... GRANDBABY TIME!!!

* I couldnt get over how much Isaac looked like he's grown... since we saw him in just 2 weeks!  What the heck?  So we started a new thing - every time they come, we're measuring them.  I still couldnt believe how tall Isaac was!

*Then I couldnt believe how SHORT I am... in high school, I measured 5'9 ... a few years ago, I measured 5'8... Ricky measured me & I was 5'7 ... SAY WHAT?  I'm turning into a shrinking woman already?  Let me tell you - my posture improved 125% in that minute.  I've been standing straight since then.  DANG IT!!!! At this rate, I'll be 5'0 by the time I'm 60

Saturday

*Julie headed out to run a race so I was on breakfast duty... pancakes!!!!  So glad to see Isaac ate them all up too.  Luke was too busy just being into everything.

* I got to head out to photograph an event... LOVE event photography.... but it was a first birthday party.  I couldnt go empty handed & had the perfect gift for the baby

* Got home & we had a birthday celebration... Isaac got to open his gifts & we had cookie & Spiderman cupcakes... good times.

(It was a Captain America kinda birthday)

*I was on a camera mission... I kept my good camera out & took all kinds of pictures of the boys...got some great shots... those faces just are the cutest faces around.  I'm not even joking.

(Not with the good camera... but still - good example of that cute face)

* Ricky took Isaac & headed out to look at cars... Julie & Luke went with me to deliver a wedding album.  I get so giddy excited to let a Bride & Groom relive their wedding day in photos... this couple is so dang sweet too, I'm going to miss having a reason to talk with them.  EXCEPT, they're moving to my town & I'll actually pass their new home on my way to work, & on my way home.  I told them I may just pop in for dinner one night :)

* Waiting to meet up with Ricky & Isaac, we ran into Hobby Lobby... oh yeah... photo prop goodies

* Dinner at 8:30 at night... it was the first meal I had all day... I felt like it was midnight.

Sunday

* Church!!!  I love Middle School kids... I think in our small group, the word "poop" was said at least 23 times

* Had a photo session scheduled, but it was like monsoon weather.  Winds up to 30 mph - so that was nixed...

* Gave us time to go to the movies!  YIPEE!! We saw Hotel Transylvania... I thought it may scare Isaac a little bit, but he really liked it - laughed & watched every minute of it.  Luke watched most of it, until he slid on the floor & BOOM!  Banged his head right on the concrete.... he was fine... that kid busts his head everytime we're around him.  Julie said, "its because his head is so big"

* Luke was just having a grumpy gus kinda day - so we went to the ice cream place to see if it would cheer him up...here's the kids ice cream.... I thought it was the cutest thing I've ever seen...

* While in the ice cream place, DOWNPOUR!!!! & then clear... then DOWNPOUR... then clear...then a rainbow! :)

* The boys were in the car & it took about 5 minute for this to happen...

* Julie just decided to leave while they were snoozing... so no teary goodbyes.. that was nice.  But she said she made it to the end of the road & Isaac woke up having to go to the bathroom... didnt make it far :) ... & got further down the road & realized he left his Captain America Shield at the house.  DANG IT!!!!

* I spent the rest of the night working on pictures... & watching the Real Housewives of New Jersey...Goodness gracious... Poor Teresa...all I can say.  Poor Teresa..

.... & I'm exhuasted....

This weekend was sponsored by my drink of choice - an iced chai tea with soy

I had it three times this weekend... would have had it 4 if it wasnt for the ice cream stop instead
(The official drink of the weekend)

Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Friday...& I know this is going to shock you, but its going to be a busy weekend!  Church events, photo sessions, birthday party, AND the grandbabies are coming up... whew...but let's get through Friday first.
One day at a time...

*****

Want another recap of the Debate?
Don't look here...
I was too busy watching "Beauty & the Beast" on the CW

I thought I wasnt even going to give it a try, but how do I resist anything with the words "Beauty & the Beast" on it...
& I was pleasantly surprised.
It's no Vampire Diaries... but it was good

Speaking of which - Vampire Diaries!!!!! Squeeeelllll!!!!!
Loved every stinking minute of it
So glad its back
Team Damon!!!

*****

Going back to Beauty & the Beast
Look what my cousin posted on my Facebook page...

She saw it on Pinterest
I have since found the tank top & want to buy it
except the biggest they have in it is a Large
that fits a size 9/10

really?... really?

It could very well be my 'wear-every-race-t-shirt'
I need to have someone make me one.

*****

I am having a new obsession
blame it on my love for Musicals & Hugh Jackman stepping in a movie version

Les Miserables

I found on YouTube the 25th Anniversary version
where they did the whole show in a 'concert style'

I think I've watched this video about 284 times
The ending...
I cry every stupid time too...

& not because one of the Jonas brothers is in it...

"To love another person is to see the face of God"

I'm DYING for the movie version now with Hugh Jackman
Who wants to go with me?
I have a feeling Ricky is going to be like "um... no..."

 *****

Leather seats are STINKING COLD in the morning!!!
do they make Butt-Blankets?

*****

One of our dogs is going to drive Ricky to the brink of insanity...

Bruno sleeps all day & then just runs around the living room, literally in circles,
barking at absolutely nothing...

We think its because he's so fat, he needs help getting out the doggie door,
so at least once a night, one of us is getting up to push his chubby butt out the door
... only to have him stand outside & bark & bark & bark & bark...

Then when we get up to leave for work,
Bruno crawls into bed & doesnt want to get up...
What a life...

(This is Bruno in the morning when I'm trying to make up the bed...
its an early morning when you're up all night)

*****

I'm going to attempt to get back to running
...or running SLOWLY...
next week...
I'm DYING for it

*****

My new car has a 6 disk cd player
...I'm a virtual DJ going down the road

*****

Spat of the Week:  Newspaper Articles
(Have you missed the Spats?  I know some of you have)

So Ricky tells me they were talking at work about an article in the paper that said that more Americans today are Non-Believers of Christ.

My response was, "I can believe it"
I mean - is it me or is the world CRAZY?
The things you see on TV in the news - or even on TV in episodes
I dont think we're a world that's screaming "WE BELIEVE!"

But Ricky took it like I said, "Yes, I agree that everyone is a non-believer"
or maybe he thought I said, "We should all be non-believers"
I dont know what he though I said but it turned into one of the most heated spats we've had in awhile

So dont ever say, "You agree with the paper"
next time, I'm just going to say, "Oh... really"
& leave it at that...

We all know facts in papers are never right anyways
... ask Theresa from the Real Housewives of New Jersey...

Hope you all have a Fabulous Friday!!!

Smells are powerful

Do you know how powerful smells are?

Can't you smell something & it instantly takes you back to a memory of a place?
Or a person?
I can smell certain scents & I feel like my grandmother is in the same room...

Smells are powerful...

They're so powerful they even rub off on you... & sometimes you dont even realize it.

I used to work at a Chicken/Fish Fry place... my goodness.  When I'd get home, my clothes were RANK!  Just being in that environment, the scent would get all over you.

Smells are powerful...

You know you have a smell, right?  We dont even notice it sometimes.
I can remember exactly what my friend's houses smelled like... each house had a unique smell.  My best friend always told me that my house smelled like Snuggle Fabric softner... we all have a smell...

So what do you smell like?

I love this verse in the Bible...

"Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God.  But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved & by those who are perishing"
-2 Corinthians 2:15

I love that this says our lives are a "Christ-like fragrance" rising up to God...
... it doesnt say my life is a "Rebecca-like fragrance"

which is probably a good thing...

my 'fragrance' would probably be pretty smelly...

... that kinda scent that is full of yucky & messy... sin...

But when we accept Christ...
well, that's a powerful smell...
that takes our scent away.. replacing it with something that can rise up to God

Its a scent that we may not even notice
... but others should take note of it
...it should be so strong that it rubs off on others
..a scent that lingers

Talk about a POWERFUL smell?!

Thank you Jesus!

Hodgepodge

Wednedsay?  Are you kidding me... its ONLY Wednesday?  It feels like its been 2 weeks wrapped up in one....& its only Wednesday...le sigh...

1. In what ways do you indulge yourself?

Look at my body... do I really need to answer that question?

2. Have you ever taken a cooking class? Any interest? What type of class would you most like to try?

Does a YouTube video count? ... then no - no cooking class

If I had to take a class of any kind - you already know what it would be... Dance class - both Ballroom & Latin... the perfect excuse to wear a beautiful gown or fringy pants!

3.  What does it mean to be a good citizen?

Wear a white cowboy hat...

All I keep thinking of when I hear the word "citizen" is the old west... & the good guys wore white...

Its early... & I'm grumpy how slow the week is going... my brain isnt working well

4.  'Tis the season of the political advert...do these ads influence your vote?

This is why I love technology... the invention of the DVR...& with that come the ability to fast forward through commercials...

I like to pause a show about 15 minutes in & then you can play it & skip through all the commercials & end the show about the same time it actually finishes in real time...(if its a 1 hour show)

...That handy tip is free of charge...

I rarely see any commercials anymore... except on YouTube or Hulu
(How messed up is THAT?)

5. What's something you see today that makes you wish you were a kid again?

My sagging, wrinkly face... that makes me want to be a kid again...

6.   What's your least favorite cliche?

First of all, I went to Google to look up some cliches... do you know you can get a "Cliche Of the Day" from Chichesite.com ... no joke...
It even gives you an explanation of the cliche...
...the internet blows my mind...

My least favorite?  Save the drama for your mama ...

I actually like that one... but I bet everyone's mama doesnt like it...

7. What percentage of your Christmas shopping has been completed? How does that make you feel?

Hahahahahahahahhaaaaaaaahahahahahhaaaaaaa
...breath...
haaahahahahaaaahahaaaahahaaaaaaa
...breath...

Sorry... the idea of Christmas shopping being completed ... makes me laugh...
Ask me that question on Christmas Eve
... at 8 pm when stores close

8.    Insert your own random thought here.

I need a vacation... more then anyone could EVER know...

What happened 8 years ago today...

First, here's what happened a few days before 8 years ago today...

(My momma & my sister in law... if I wasnt taking the picture, I would put my belly in the mix too)

I'm sure my sister in law loves this picture of herself... I think its amazing... afterall, there were TWO babies in that belly...

So back to the original post, 8 years ago today, this happened

And by "This happened" - I mean my brother had a DEATH GRIP on his children.  Seriously - look at those fingers & how white knuckled they are.

I like to tell Tony this is the best picture ever of him... oh, is his face covered? mmm... (Sister's can get away with that kind of comment to a brother)

Its funny because I can look at that picture & know which twin is which ...

Some people see them & can instantly tell they're twins...

They're not identicial, but they do have some things that I can see a resemblence...
But they are total opposites...

I love that about them... so unique... so special in their own way...

You've heard me say some of the opposite things about them before, but here's another good example...

I asked them what they wanted for their birthday & Madi told me she wanted Hot Wheels or Basketball cards... while Sophia said she wanted a Kindle Fire & jewelry.

I told her not to hold her breath on the Kindle Fire :)

So tonight, we'll be celebrating that these little babies are now 8 years old...

8 years old!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

When did that happen...

I'm freaked out thinking they're getting close to double digits...then middle school... then DRIVING.. then MARRIAGE!!!!!!!!!!!

Then old enough to take care of their old, crumpling aunt :)

So a big Happy Birthday to my favorite twins in the whole wide world...

Your Aunt loves you to the moon & back!!!!

Weekend Roundup

This is going to be the oddest Weekend Roundup because I actually have no pictures... what's wrong with me?

Friday

* I actually took the day off work... a sick child...or doggie... one in the same to me.  Our big girl, Buffy, hurt her leg Thursday night.  So bad she couldnt even put it down to walk.  Now, she's gotta be close to 150 lbs so lifting her & helping her wasnt an option, so we tried to keep her laying down - made a ramp to go off the back porch - had to watch her going to the bathroom so she wouldnt topple over.  She must have twisted it because her leg even bruised...  to keep you not being in suspense, she's MUCH better as of this morning... she was walking a little better each day & now she's finally walking totally on it, with just a small limp.  Whew!

* Being home - I got my house cleaned up nicely...what you can do when the Hubs isnt home

* Figured out how to use Netflix on the living room TV.... got to watch the Documentary "My Run" ... I love any documentary about running...

* It was a beautiful day... & then the rain came in about 8:00 & it was like someone pulled the rug out from underneath us... I know the temperature dropped 30 degrees in 5 minutes... brrr....

Saturday

* I'd really like to sleep in... I can't ever make it past 7:00 anymore...

* To make up for not sleeping in, I had a lazy morning... catching up on my DVR & hanging out in PJ's

* Chasity came over & we started putting together a wedding album.. that's the BEST part of wedding photography - putting all the pictures together to showcase the day.  Love it

* Chasity & I headed out for an Engagement Session... it was awesome - first, because they called for cold, rainy weather & it was crisp & sunny & beautiful!  Second, because it was for an amazing couple that I adore.  This young man is my next door neighbor & when I moved in, he was just a little kiddo... & now, here he was with his future wife, standing in front of me as a MAN!  What the heck?  I'm the same age though - right?

* Back to finishing the wedding album... I've said it before - I'll say it again - I'd be lost without Chasity

* My parents came by to check on Buffy... see?  Told you my doggies are like babies in the family.

* Got to 9pm & realized I hadnt ate ALL DAY LONG... called Ricky to have him pick me up something (he had spent the day with his daughter while I was on Photo Duty) & he was pulling the driveway... dang it!  But he's such a good Hubs... he went back out & got me a pizza.  My belly thanked him...

*.... change that.... My belly hated the Hubs for that late night pizza at 3 am... I'm too old to eat that late...

Sunday

* Woke up to try & find the Chicago Marathon on TV... couldnt find it anywhere... only football, baseball & infomercials... I was so mad...

* Time to head to church... I got to teach the Jr. High gang in the morning... my day was made when the couple I had in front of my camera the day before had a surprise for Chasity & myself.  Blessed my socks off!

* Ricky & I went out to lunch... the first really good meal I had all weekend...

* Time for a trip to Target... did I just really see Christmas stuff out?

* Uploaded the pictures from the session the day before to see what I had... giddy excited because I can already tell some of these are going to be my all-time-favorite pictures!!!

* Back to church again... got to teach the Sr. High gang... I laugh till my stomach hurts everytime with the Sr. High gang...

* Hang out time... guys went to one side of the room, & the girls to the other & I loved it... spent an hour just chatting, giggling, talking everything from parent relationships to TV to boot styles...

* Got home at 9 & wanted to watch my Sunday shows - Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Real Housewives of CRAZY reunion... I just went to bed instead... I'm exhausted.

Hope everyone had a great weekend... onto a fabulous week!

Presidential Debate

So I watched the Debate last night...

I havent watched one thing about any of this mess all year long...

I think the last debate I watched involved Ronald Regan & that may have been for a grade in school...

But TV turned on me & had it on virtually every channel...
Yeah, I coulda turned over to TLC & seen if they were doing reruns of Honey Boo Boo, but I thought for once I'll try & see if there's something I can grasp & learn from.

These are a few of things I learned watching:

* Obama has gotten GREY!!! The stress is coming out all over his face & in his hair!

* Romney's eye brows intrigue me

* I feel like the blue/red is really in tribute to Kentucky & how we have the battle of the University of Louisville (Red) & the University of Kentucky (blue)... we'll keep it silent from the rest of the world.

* If Romney cuts out PBS, my parents are going to be upset... & I'm also waiting now for a great photo op with Romney & Big Bird

.... had to take a break... my mom called me to laugh about my Photo-Bomb picture from yesterdays post... I think everyone got a good chuckle at my face.  That's always nice....

* The mediator lost ALL control... but how do you tell the President of the United States to "SHUT UP!"

* Romney is one pushy dude... he wasnt letting the mediator tell him his time was up either.

* Why did Obama constantly keep his head down instead of looking Romney in the eyes?  I thought that was telling - seriously...

* Obama has a weird slope in his shoulders ... (its the things you notice in split screens)

* If I hear the word "Small Business" one more time, I'm going to scream

* I would lay money George W Bush was somewhere cursing Obama when he was talking about how much of a mess the White House was when he walked in

* I still think Obama doesnt even understand his own "Obamacare" plan

* Did the President of the United States just say "jerking around"?

* I think Obama was giving death stares to the mediator to make Romney shut up

* Can I move to Massachusetts?  Apparently they have the bomb-diggity insurance!

* I fell asleep during the talks of Health Insurance...the sound of their voices lulled me to dreamland...

But I will say, I think Romney was the better speaker - Obama looked confused, lost & gave a lot of "umm's" in response.

I appreciate Romney didnt seem intimated one bit ...
& he's already grey... the stress of being the President would suit him..

Did you watch the Debate?

What was your favorite moment?

Are you worried for Big Bird?

Hodgepodge

Wednesday... Hodepodge Time

1. It's a brand new month...share one thing you're looking forward to in October.

October is my favorite favorite favorite month...
Lots of birthdays to celebrate - our anniversary - cooler temps - smells of burning leaves

but my favorite - COLOR... I love the changing leaves

I grew up always being told that Fall is the time that the world becomes God's Coloring Book

2. Is chivalry dead? Explain.

No - but I think its dying...

I think with every generation, it gets a little more slack.

I mean, this is the generation that wears they're pants down past their butt... how can they open a door for a lady when they're just trying to make sure they're butt isnt showing..

oh wait... they want their butt to show...

my point is made

3. On October 2, 1950 the Peanuts comic strip made its debut. Which character is your favorite? Which character is most like you? (Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Schroeder, Snoopy, Woodstock or Pig Pen) If you need a description click here.

I have never been a huge Peanuts fan... Gasp... I know... Un-American... but remember, I'm also the one who has never seen Andy Griffith (& for the record, I just had to look it up -I thought it was Andy Griffin)...

but if I had to be a character, I'm going out on a limb... I'm this girl

The one who dances in the Christmas Pageant... I always pull out that same move!!!

4. What's something you're competitive about?

I'm competitive with our work copy machine...

I try to get in the next piece of paper before the copy machine shuts back down & then has to fire back up...

Its like a 3 second turnaround after the first paper is copied...
its a challenge..
...I take it seriously...

5. October is National Popcorn Popping Month...are you a fan? How do you like your popcorn?

I have to be in a mood for popcorn... & its rare...
but every now & then, I'll pop some & salt the heck out of that stuff for a movie

Now carmel popcorn is another story... mmmm....

6. When did you first realize the world is small?

I learned this lesson young in life...
... when I was 6 years old..
... I was in Florida...
... where a Mouse rules...
& a bunch of kids were singing about it to me...

7. In terms of architecture, what's the most beautiful building you've seen up close and in person?

I guess the most beautiful building I've seen is the Bellagio in Vegas...

Where they had the inside botanical gardens & then glass flowers on the ceiling?  My jaw dropped

8. Insert your own random thought here

I just did the BEST Photo Bomb EVER!!!!

Hahahahaha!!! I saw this picture on Facebook yesterday... someone in the crowd was taking a picture at the wedding...

this Bride & Groom wanted a 'rear view' kiss picture - so I have to get a step ladder & get it up right before the kiss... well, this was an outdoor wedding & I'm right in front of a tree... well, there were roots everywhere so my ladder was wobbly... my fear is that I'd fall right in front of everyone - knocking down the arch, falling into the Bride - all the horrible things you'd see in a Romantic Comedy movie...
But Chasity was at the end of the aisle giving me a thumbs up that I was up on the ladder... I wasnt sure I was going to stay up there...but I did...

& I got the shot... score one more for me!

Why I'm now afraid of vitamins & flu shots....

So yes, back in January of 2012, I started off the year HORRIBLY... I had a round with neuropathy... it came out of nowhere & made my life MISERABLE!!!!!

& first, thank you for those of you that still email me & ask me how I'm doing with that.  That always touches my heart & I appreciate your thoughts, prayers & concern!

Anyone that suffers from neuropathy, I have a newfound respect.  & I never even knew what neuropathy was before 2012
...the things that life teaches you...

Did we ever find out what caused it?  not exactly - but maybe?
How does that sound?  ... sounds like an answer from a doctor to me...

From the beginning, the Neurologist thought it was something toxic for it to come on so quickly... I would have laid money it was from the steroid pack that another doctor gave me for my Bicep Tendonitis.  He told me that wasnt possible... which I still didnt agree with.  Thanks to Good ole'Google, I've found others - though rare - that had problems with this steroid pack... but how do you argue with a guy that has a few degrees hanging on his wall, compared to print outs from Google?

But what he determined was that I had a vitamin overdose... specificially Vitamin B6

(Can also make your life miserable... they left that out of there)

& I also can believe that's true...

Others argue with me & say its not possible...

why?  Because Vitamin B6 is water soluble..which means you're supposed to pee that extra right out... (that's why I'm not a doctor - I'd use the word 'pee' instead of 'urinate'... hey, its better then 'whiz')

But it is VERY possible... just google up "Vitamin B6 toxicity" & take a gander.... its VERY possible!!!  & some people get it by even taking normal vitamins with the daily recommended dose of of 2mg a day...

Well, I was on a vitamin kick at the end of 2011 - thanks to my favorite elf, Dr. Oz & I was taking probably a dozen different vitamins everyday... MEGA VITAMINS

(& by the way, Dr. Oz also even stated that Vitamin B6 isnt harmful in mega doses... this has knocked down my faith in the jolly o'elf.)

Let's just say, the B-complex vitamin I was taking had over 200mg of B6 every day... that's like 158,399,299% more then I need.. .not really that much - but WAY more then the daily recommended amount.

I was doing that with ALL my vitamins...

So the neurologist put me on a vitamin ban to see what would happen
... I am now 90% back to normal.  (Thank you Jesus!!!!!!)
I'll still have neuropathy pains about once a month but its still nothing like it was before...

I'm believing by the end of 2012, I'm not going to have ANY neuropathy pain... (Please Jesus - let it be)

The Neurologist has me so paranoid though with anything that could be toxic...

I'm scared of lotions, of makeup, of jewelry... even the flu shot.

I know of someone who has very VERY similar symptoms that I was going through & they found out his issue was with his flu shot...

so you thought I was crazy about all-natural things before?  You should see me now... I dont even take vitamins anymore - try to get it all through food.

I'm a paranoid toxic -seeking person...

But I did want to share, because I think everyone just assumes this couldnt happen to them... but I'm living proof it can happen...

My Neurologist even said he's always read about cases like that in school, but never saw it actually happen, until he meet me...

I knew I was special...

Weekend Wrapup

Before I get started about my weekend, this blog needs to take a weekend wrapup break to give a big SHOUT OUT to my Momma...
its her birthday today!!!
Whooo hooo!!!

Here's to another year of living!!! :)  Always a fun thing to celebrate!  Go mom!
October is full of birthdays of my family members, so none better to kick off the month then the most awesome lady I know... love you Mom!

Ok... back to what the weekend held... we'll celebrate the birthday later... with icing...

Friday

* Got to go visit my friend Erica & Joe & get their little beauty in front of my camera for her 3 yr old pictures.  I knew she was growing up & getting bigger, but when I look through a camera, I REALLY see things... & it blew my mind how big she's getting.  She's such a cutie!!!  Just breaks my heart though that even in the midst of taking her picture, she'd have seizures.  Not fair that this little beauty has to deal with this condition.  But she's such a little fighter. If you want to keep up with Emily & the latest news on her - check out the Facebook page that her mommy keeps full of updates & pictures... For the Love of Emily

* Worked on wedding pictures until after midnight... Finally got a preview up.  Its so hard to pick under 30 pictures when you have over 250 to choose from.

The new Mr & Mrs... ahhh

They wanted a "Bridesmaids" pose... I love the way it turned out

Saturday

* So much for sleeping... Ricky had to work, which one again meant the dogs were up & barky & ready to start the morning at 6:30... UGH!  I didnt get into bed until 12:45 so I was grumpy...

* Had to leave the house early anyways - Groom day for Zoe & Sydney... which was OK with Buffy - it meant she got the couch to herself while they were gone.

* Ricky got home with the doggies & I was mad... the cost of the dogs went up over $20 & they didnt even do a great job... I had to get out the scissors & trim down Zoe's face because it didnt even look like they cut her face at all... I just need to learn to groom myself.  Seriously.

* Ricky & I headed out to Lazer Tag with our Youth Minister & the other Youth Leaders...we had so much fun!  I was sweating like a crazed woman too.  The 2nd round - I was learning how it worked & was getting into it.

(Ricky was taking the picture)

* Some little kid kept coming around the corner & shooting me - letting my light come on- shooting me again - repeat - repeat -repeat.  Finally, I put my gun down, pointed my finger & gave my best "adult voice" & said, "OK - you need to go somewhere else, right now!" - He said, "OK - but one more!" shot me one more time & then ran off! Kids!  Ruining my game playing! ;)

* Ricky didnt get enough shooting IN the Lazer Tag - he & our Youth Minister got into another shooting game...

* We headed out & I found a Whole Foods!!!!!!!!!!!  Never been in there before & I walked in & thought I heard angels singing.  I could have spent all day in there... & a few hundred dollars.  We did good, only walking out with 2 bags... & a vegan cookie for me & a berry dessert for Ricky... I'm glad to know where this place is at now.  I timed it coming home.  40 minutes!

* Found a new burger place that we decided to try... I was giddy excited because they had VEGGIE BURGERS!! & ONION RINGS!! I'm so obsessed with onion rings right now, I cant even tell you.

* I was exhuasted - so was Ricky from working earlier - so we were old folks & were in bed by 9:30... falling asleep to watching "Cars" - so still kids at heart :)

Sunday

* Had bought tickets to take my momma to see Wicked today, but she wasnt feeling well (boo!) ... but she wanted Ricky to take her ticket.  He had never seen it - so we started getting ready & off we went to Defy Gravity!!!

* While others were standing in line in front of this poster... I was the only one to get my picture with THIS poster... dont know why everyone else wasnt lined up here??

* The play was A-MAZ-ING... as good this time as the first...& our seats were the BOMB-DIGGITY.  I get claustrophobic stuck in the middle of these long aisles, so we had the first 2 seats... so when it went to intermission, we jetted out & ended up being the FIRST PERSON in the bathroom!  I've never had that happen before.  Felt like I accomplished something in life.

(I just started reading the Original Wizard of Oz book & loved that this map is exactly what the story described it as... )

* We headed out to a Japanese restaurant to end the show with a great dinner... it was horrible... hate that.  Edamame saved the visit for me though.

* Home to work on more pictures... I got over 60 edited in a few hours... while waiting for the big premiers!  ONCE UPON A TIME!!! REVENGE!!!!  Great way to end a evening!!!

* & then had to continue to the Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion... & thought I was going to throw my shoe at the TV anytime Teresa spoke.  I love how she swears on her children about things she 'never said' when they have it on video of her saying the exact thing.  The woman has GOTSTA be crazy!!!!!  I was rooting Rosie on when she was threatening to go cut her tongue out.  I wouldnt mess with Rosie! ... next week, bring out the husbands - let the crazy continue!

Hope everyone had a great weekend & has a Magnificent Monday!!!

Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Friday... I had to double check before I put on my jeans this morning
we have Casual Fridays & I honestly wasnt sure if it was Thursday or Friday this morning...I think I just needed more sleep

*****

Gonna be a busy weekend!!
(I know no one is surprised when I say that)
But on Saturday, I get to SHOOT people!!!
& not with a camera!
(Are you scared now?)

We're actually having a youth leader gathering at LAZER TAG!!!

I have a feeling I'll be the first person zapped out
while Ricky will take all his xbox training of Ghost Recon
& be hiding in spots & knocking everyone out
...his dream come true...

*****

Sunday - I'll be in musical heaven
I'm taking my momma & we're headed to the theater to see
WICKED!!!!!!!

Source: bing.com via Rebecca on Pinterest

We saw it about 2 years ago & when it came back,
knew we would be seeing it again.
Works out perfectly because my momma's birthday is Monday so this was the perfect birthday present for her.

I'll be singing "Defying Gravity" double the normal times I sing it
(I actually have it set in my CD player... its my go-to song before any race and any photography seession...dont ask me why)

*****

 So I'm a little bummed...
I hurt my lower back... not sure how...
Everyone says its from running
I actually think its from holding a 7 lb camera from my neck 2 weeks in a row
for 10 hours straight... while on my feet the whole time

Bad thing?
There is a half marathon coming up on November 3 that I wanted to do
& I need to register by Sunday evening if I'm going to do it

I know my training needs to take a week or two off & then that's gonna mess me up for this race...

I'm so dang upset about it!!!
dont know why I care so much

But The Hubs reminded me that there's more races in the future
& he's right - I'd rather do my 6th Ky Derby Half Marathon in April then this
so maybe I'll just skip this one

but know on November 3rd - I'll be in my bed having a pity party

*****

Anyone else watch Grey's Anatomy season premiere?
Anyone make it through without crying?
...I want to meet you because you have a heart of steel....

*****

Got to go see my nieces Cross Country meet again last night
& this time, Sophia didnt run alone

....NO!!! I didnt get in & run with a bunch of small children!
(I actually did run the track before the kids got there though)

But Sophia had her sister join her!

(Sophia loves the camera... Madi?  Not so much)

We were so nervous for Madi...
afraid she'd be wayyyy behind her sister & feel bad

but lo & behold, here comes Sophia
& hot on her trail - Madi!!!
They finished at 9:20 & 9:23!!!

I'm so proud of these little stinkers!!!

*****

You probably saw this on my Facebook page
but for those of you that dont see that
(I'm talking to you mom & dad)
here's my latest finish line picture from Sunday's race

I always said I would never buy race pictures
... the prices are re-donk-u-lous!!!!...
But I love crossing the finish line with the Hubs!

(Now I'm even more depressed about msising the Nov 3rd race)

Leaves are starting to turn...
my favorite time of the year

Tip of the Day

Love this!  I have so many USB Cords that I have no idea what goes to what
You can write on the toilet paper cardboard as well so you lift it out & viola!
You know exactly what it goes to.... while keeping it straight!
Put in a really cute box & you can even leave by the computer or tv!

*****

PITCH PERFECT comes out this weekend!!!
Any movie that has singing it it?  I'm usually excited about...

Les Miserables coming out in December?
I tear up everytime I see the trailer!!!
& not just because I'm excited that Hugh Jackman is in it...

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS FRIDAY!!!!
(its Friday... right?)

Hodgepodge

Half way there...

1. The Wednesday Hodgepodge falls on John Chapman's birth date. He's more famously known as Johnny Appleseed...what's your favorite variety of apple?

First, I saw the name "Chapman" & got all giddy excited... is he related to one of the greatest people in the world?  Steven Curtis Chapman? Hmmm....

My favorite apple... I used to really be addicted to Golden Delicious - but have discovered Honeycrisp... Yummmmm-Y!  So sweet & juicy.... & expensive! Boo!

2.  When did you last say 'ick'?

When I stepped in dog poop
... barefoot...

3.   Do you think there's a generation gap? Explain.

I see the generation gap EVERY.STINKING.WEEKEND!  Being a Youth Leader in middle school really reminds me of the different worlds we come from.

These kids have no idea who Johny Carson is, what transister radios are, what "Pretty in Pink" the movie is about... they have no idea what September 11th felt like, or really understand it.

But my parents say the same thing about me... I dont understand telephone party lines, gas for 10 cents, marriage at 16, a beehive hairdo.

4.  What's on your computer screen saver? Do you change it often or leave it alone?

I never change my screen saver... being someone who takes pictures, I'd want to change it every weekend - so best not to start that that road.  My pretty blue, blank screen works well for me.

5.   If you had the attention of the entire world for two minutes what would you say?

I'd probably just giggle & not get a word out because of nerves
... the ENTIRE WORLD?  whoo...

I'd try to get out "May the Odds ever be in your favor"
& then do a ROCK ON hand sign

... I never make sense...

6.  Four fashion trends to try this fall are brocade/jacquard (fancy fabrics), peplum, lace, and printed pants...which of these four would you be most likely to wear?

First of all, I only like lace on wedding dresses (& that's just fairly new - I used to loathe lace)...

Second - I dont even know how to prounouce 'jacquard' or 'peplum' - nor even know that peplum means...

Third - Print on my pants?  My butt is big enough - no prints

I'm sticking with my Old Navy shirts & jeans... that's always my Fall Fashion

7.  What can make your bad day better?
A good run... always gives me energy & makes me feel like I've accomplished something

8.  Insert your own random thought here

I want these shoes...badly... they come out October 1st... arent they adorable?  & love that its for the Christina Applegate Foundation.  Love her!

Tis the Season...

The most wonderful time of the year...

no, not the Holidays...

I'm actually one of those people who dont look forward to the Holidays... too much stress...

My favorite time of the year - FALL!!!!!

The cooler air
The leaves changing
Pumpkins & apples everywhere
Sweaters & jean weather everyday

But with every good, a little bad must come...

Let me give you a hint what my bad is...

All of these are just in my purse...

This isnt including the extra I have in my desk at work, the ones I have on my bed side table & the ones on my bathroom counter.

My lips are DYING!!!!!

Nothing seems to really work.

I really think this makes my lips worse sometimes - but what do you do?

I really try to stick with the 'all natural' ones too the most, but they still dont seem to help.

I know my problem is I forget to put it on in the most important times...
... I forgot to put it on when we did the outdoor wedding - with winds of 25 mph
... & I forgot to put it on the next day when we were running the race
... I actually forget to put it on everytime I run... I usually remember about the first mile when my lips are throbbing

UGH!

Does the Fall weather make anyone elses lips hurt?

What is your favorite Lip Balm?

Am I the only Scrooge that doesnt care for the Holidays?
