I'm seeing pictures of everyone's Christmas trees & decorations...
Me?
I've got 2/3's of a tree up...
I mean, literally of a TREE...
I usually put my Christmas tree up Thanksgiving night & decorate the day after. With the grandbabies in, we didnt get around to all things Christmas. We were too busy with eating left overs....
That threw me off my game...
My life is so busy & hectic, literally, every day since Thanksgiving, I've had something to do so I havent been able to get to our tree & decorations up.
Ricky went ahead & got a new slim tree... its beautiful... except when we went to put it up on Saturday evening, the top section of it fizzled out... we had the tree for one hour & it bombed...
So we had to take it back & exchange the top part of it...
Its so much skinnier then our old tree too, so our normal decorations wont work on it. So I'm all a scatter what to do.
I didnt get home from church last night until after 9 pm - so I didnt even attempt to do anything with the tree...
So if you want pictures of my house for the Holidays right now, you'd see a bottom part of a tree, boxes in the floor, bags on the counter, a few presents wrapped, a Christmas list with a bunch of blank space where I have no idea what to get anyone, a empty refrigerator that needs to be filled, a pile of laundry that needs to be done....
Yeah... I'm not feeling the Christmas spirit yet...
I understand believe me. The trees on my post are from previous years. haha Our current one is still a work in progress.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad. I don't think Mary and Joseph put up a Christmas tree in the Manger either. You're in good company.
ReplyDeletem.
I'm kinda feeling that way, too. We have the tree up (also, a new skinny tree!) and a few other things, but it just doesn't FEEL like Christmas yet. Maybe because there is no snow on the ground. I know. Hard to believe in MN!
ReplyDeleteIt will come together. It always does. :)
Oh, it will come when the timing is just right. So, don't worry, be HAPPY! :)
ReplyDeleteWhere are grandbaby pictures???
ReplyDeleteHow fun to spend family time together :)
I have been away from home since thanksgiving. . .so you can rest assured I've got NOTHIN decorated for Christmas
RJ,
ReplyDeleteWe stil don't have ours up either. In fact, Sir Cuteness asked as we were going home this morning, if PaPa got our tree down.
Yep, he's in trouble =)
I love you friend ~~ hang in there ~~ I love you so ~~ Dawn
I bought Mike a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree as a joke - & THAT'S what we're using this year! I highly recommend it - it brings a huge smile without a lot of effort (there's a picture of it in my P365 post).
ReplyDeleteI'm not there yet either.
ReplyDeleteWe might even skip the tree this year and just do a gingerbread house (the clean up is so much easier - haha)
There is no timetable. Our tree is up, my niece (18) was over on Friday, and she decorated it. I was fine with that, and she, having been virtually homeless for 7 years, was delighted at the chance.
ReplyDeleteAs a kid, we had a real tree, and my mom didn't put it up until at least the 22. (She was, as we learned later, convinced it would ignite.)
So...cut yourself some slack, it all trimmings for the real reason and that reason, you know--Jesus--is HERE all the time.
If it makes you feel any better we just put our tree up yesterday. The boxes and everything in them remain spewed across my living room floor. I'm feeling overwhelmed and decided to stick my head in the sand rather than deal with it. Hang in there. It'll come to you soon. I love your ornaments and trees they're always so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBut hey you at least have a few presents WRAPPED!! I haven't even begun shopping much less wrapped. It'll all come together, it always does!
ReplyDeleteAwww...I'm feeling your pain. My life has been so hectic the last few years that I've found it very hard to get into the Christmas spirit. This is a good reminder to SLOW DOWN and enjoy every second.
ReplyDeletei'm never in the christmas spirit. i don't blame you one bit for not having it all done yet. xoxo
