The morning after....

I think everyone is walking around like they're coming home from a New Years Eve party...

looking a little worse for the wear ... (is that how that little saying goes?)

Anyways...

I just have to say, Facebook is a downer this morning.
Everyone is so disappointed.
I do have a few friends & family members that are giving their big smiles & "HA - in yo face" comments, but for the most part, which I didnt realize, I have mostly Republican friends...

& everyone is totally bummed out today.

I dont really ever speak politics or take sides, but I did vote for the Romney/Ryan ticket... & I have to admit... I'm a little on the bummed out side too.

This race was close.  At the beginning, I wasnt sure Romney had a chance.  I didnt care for him.  I would have taken Sarah Palin over him actually.  But he was better then Newt... (seriously, how could you have a President named after an amphibian?) ... I just never thought he had the personality to win over more voters.

I was wrong... in the end, I really liked Romney...

shame his face will now only be seen in news reports or commentaries...

But with everything, life goes on...

Like I told a friend last night before the votes were final - God already knows the winner!  God is already there, in control ... so we still have hope.

We still have a lot of people in this country who are praying people who want the best for our country... & that's Republican & Democrats together...

so as long as we have a country of praying people & a God who is in control... well, I think we'll make it through

.... until we all go crazy again in 4 years...

  1. I wrote two things on facebook this morning, a status update and a new cover photo comment.

    Read mine, they're both positive!

  2. This is what I love about our country. We can vote for different candidates, and have different views and still be friends!

My facebook feed was pretty much the opposite (I live in a very liberal state...go figure). But this quote posted by one of my friends was fitting: "I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend." --Thomas Jefferson.

  3. I, too, voted for Romney. But America spoke in the opposite direction. Instead of being bitter about it, I'm praying for our President. However, lots of people on my FB feed are quite the opposite and I even read one status in which a guy called everyone who voted for Obama "un-American". Really??? I love the fact that we live in this great nation where we are FREE and can vote for whomever we want to and do not have to explain that to anyone! :)

  5. Very disappointed with the outcome, I must say. However, rest assured that God is watching closely over our country...that alone brings me great peace! Love that cartoon! Thanks for the smile!

  6. Love the cartoon.

I am very disappointed with the outcome of the national and local races, but I find comfort in knowing that our God is still on His throne and I can trust in Him, regardless of who is in the Oval Office.

  7. I didn't realize how many blogger friends are republican vs democrats. It's refreshing to know that we all can get along no matter what our political views are. I only wish our law makers could do the same.

  8. You have it right, Rebecca. We should pray for our president and most of all for our country. That is what I find the most puzzling and I guess, comforting too. Some people who I really respect think that O is the right man for the job. I refuse to spend the next four years letting him raise my blood pressure again.
