My dad's dream came true...

My whole life, my dad has had a love for horses...

always grew up with them... even had a horse for my brother when he was little so his children could have the same love of horses as he had...

but life in the city doesnt let you hold onto horses for long...

The love of animals was instilled in my brother & myself... my mom made sure of that...

that's why I have 4 dogs right now & my brother has 2 dogs himself...

But my dad?  Still always wanted his horses back...

a few years ago, he bought a horse but kept it at the barn he was from, with the horses mommy & brother...

More forward a few years & my parents put their house up for sale this year... moved just a few miles away from us... a few miles from my brother...

& guess what the house has?  Land for a horse...

My dad has been working his butt off to get it ready... & this weekend was the time

It was cool too because Julie & the boys were up so they got to see the horses...

We got there & Luke was all curious... hanging onto Pappy but wanting to see what was going on....

Dad's horse came to his new home... with his mommy... So when you hear me talk about Cochese & Candy -you now know.

& this is what they did the whole first hour they were there... checking out the grass...

Must be some good stuff...

Isaac was a little nervous about them & stayed away... even had Julie take him out of the gate & go sit in the shade.

Luke?  He has no fear - he just kept wanting to get closer & closer... its a wonder Luke didnt start eating grass himself after watching Cochese do it for so long...

So there it is... my dad's dream come true... I know its what he's wanted his whole life.

Sometimes dreams take awhile....

Its what I keep telling myself about my dream of being a slim, fit, runner :)

  3. What a gorgeous piece of property! How awesome for your dad, and you!

Joe and I would love to own a few acres and have a little farm in the country someday, hopefully by the time we have grandkids :) My dream is to have a garden with a walkout from my craft room and a little studio to use, too!
