Hodgepodge Day

1. Picture postcards were first printed back in the mid 1800's and deltiology is the official name for postcard collecting. When did you last send a postcard? Receive one? Do you save postcards sent to you?  Do you collect and/or send postcards when you travel?

I think postcards are a dying art... does anyone send them anymore?  I don't even know what the cost of sending a postcard even is now?

I think the last time I sent a postcard, I was 6 yrs old in Florida... which if you know my age, is like 129 years ago...

Do I collect them?  I'd have to travel to do that...

2.  What treat do you most like to indulge in while on vacation?

Our vacations usually involve Gatlinburg or Nashville - so our indulging usually consists of a little piece of heaven called "Pancake Pantry" ... nothing like loading up on sugar & carbs when you wake up.  Putting your body in a diabetic coma early on.... but its worth it. YUM!!!!

3. Are you good at hiding your feelings?

Ha... I think anyone that knows me just laughed right along with me at this question.

My face says it all... all the time...

That is, if my mouth doesn't tell you straight out first

4. Does your town/city/county still deliver phone books to your home?  Do you check the yellow pages when searching for a local business number or has the Internet replaced the phone book in your house?

We do still get them & I get so angry every time.  I weep for the poor trees that died for no reason.  Because really, who uses them anymore?

wait... I know who... my husband....

I always try to immediately put the phone books in the recycle bin but Ricky hoards them because he'll use that to look up numbers.   I think we actually have like 4 phone books in our cabinet.  Geez...

Its either that, or him asking me, "Will you look up the number to such & such" - knowing I'm doing it the 2013 way of looking it up on my phone or internet

5. Would you rather be first or last?

Sorry ... all that comes to mind for me is Ricky Bobby

Will Ferrell holds all the answers of life to me

6.  July is National Park and Recreation Month (in America, but everyone can still play along)...where and when were you last in a park? Did you participate in any recreational activities while you were there?

... sorry...

I disappeared for awhile...

you said Parks & Rec & my scattered brain just went & googled all sorts of Park & Rec fun stuff...

I love that show.  To me, its the new The Office

Must.do.this!!!
I want a desk like this...

7. What was one of your worst ideas?

Every idea I have is a learning experience so none of them are the worst...

Ron Swanson Giggle
carrying on my Park & Rec search results...

nah... I'm just kidding...

I actually have so many bad ideas I've done in life, I can't pick just one

 8.  Insert your own random thought here.

So I'm excited about the Royal baby Watch... But I'm praying Katherine holds that baby in one more day.

Why?  Today is Camilla's birthday....

nooooooooooooo

NO!!!!!  NOT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Team Princess Diana forever.....

Ricky Bobby-ha! I have to say that popped into my mind too. We use that phrase around here more than we should. Always makes me laugh.

  8. Let me start by saying that you never fail to make me laugh! I've been by the Pancake Pantry many times and have never tried it...probably a good thing! I don't know why, but I'm just not into all the Royal Baby hype. I have bigger fish to fry, so to speak, like Big Brother, for example! It's all about priorities, you know! :)

  11. This was hilrious. I guess I am really behind the times...never heard of the show Parks and Rec. looks like i'm missing lotsa laughs, based on hat desk alone. I want one like that, too. Oh it would be dreadful if royal aby came on Camilla's birthday. If i were the doc, i would shove it back in till 1201 .

  12. I can't wait for the Royal Baby! Also, in Peru sending post cards is a big deal. Particularly from Machu Picchu.
