Arm update...

...yep... still miserable...

... still in pain...

... still frustrated.

I went back to the doctor earlier this week.  Y'all know how much I hate going to the doctor so that should tell you how bad this is still hurting.  Its been going on now for 4 months... sigh...

The doctor gave me a steroid pack to try.  Its called MethylPREDNISolone (dont know why those letters are captalized, but that's the way its printed on the box?) ...

Prescription medicine makes me nervous & I prefer not to take it unless its totally necessary, which after 4 months of pain, its necessary.  But when I think of steroids, all I can think about it swelling up & gaining weight.  The doctor told me this is such a short burst of steroids that that shouldnt happen.  I wanted to say, "but do you KNOW me?  have we met?  because anything bad that can happen, usually will"...

I'm also afraid after this pack, I'm going to look something like this...

(Just imagine red hair... & a lot paler...)
Its only a 21 pack - & there is a schedule that has me taking like 6 pills the first day, 5 the next, down to one pill 6 days later.... so we'll see what happens.

I'm also supposed to schedule with a physical therapist & let them evaulate me & see what they can do.

... I just want to feel normal again...

  1. wow! that is one scary picture!!!

praying your arm gets better soon....have you ever been on steroids? Plan on getting a lot done and not least that's how they affected me.

  2. Oh no!! I hope that the meds and the PT bring you some relief!

(and hopefully no crazy, hulk-like reactions. YIKES!!) :)

  3. I might be wrong, but I think you have to actually work out with weights to look like that :)

I really really really hope they work for you, & that the therapists can help!

  4. I want that woman's shoulders.
    Take care of yourself.

  5. That pictures SCARES me, haha!!!! :)

  6. I'm so sorry about your arm! But I think you just scarred me for life with that photo. I'm going to have nightmares.

  7. Give the steroids a try...they can be scary, but they can work WONDERS (and notsomuch in the crazy muscle department, but in kick-starting your body to get better). I've literally seen steroids save lives, so I say go for it.

Warning for Ricky, however: they may make you a bit edgy and cranky. Stay out of her way.

  8. The hubster takes prednisone when his Crohn's acts up. It causes a lot of moodiness, so no blaming Mother Nature. Blame it on the meds.

    You'll also be hungry.

    All. The. Time.

    Eat fruit. It'll be healthier.

Hang in there. We'll keep praying for Godly wisdom.

  9. my old roommate and co-worker does bikini modeling and training for body building.. some of the shows i've been too and girls makeup/hair i've done. OMG. intense. you have to do some major working out and steriods to look like that. no worries girl. hope you get feeling normal soon! xoxo

  10. RJ, I'm SO sorry you are still dealing with this. Take it easy while your on the steroids. I hope they help and also the PT. Have you had PT on your shouder before?

Take it easy friend ~~. I love you girl, Dawn
