The weekend that gave me hope for Spring...

You'll have to excuse me right now... I'm dying of thirst...

Actually, I am having my liver ultrasound this morning & I was told not to have anything to eat or drink after midnight.  I'm sorry - that's like torture for someone like me. I know... #firstworldproblem ... But when I get up, my habit is to drink a glass of water with lemon, or with apple cider vinegar... & then I have to have some sort of caffeine or I'm not able to function... so yeah... I'm not feeling like I'm functioning very well.

This bites.

I just need a sign that hangs around my neck to warn everyone because I know its going to throw me off all day with my work schedule (I'll be going in late) - I don't get to take a lunch at work, which means my whole day is going to be weird.  Chances of grumpy are high.

To get my mind off of the desert like thirst & the sounds of my stomach growling, let's look back at the weekend.

Friday, I finally did what I wanted to do for awhile... got my car clean. I feel like I drive around with a little more pride.  I never understand how many rocks get in the floor board of my car. When I went out in the garage to get the dog food, I had to stop & look at my car.  I forgot what it looked like when it didn't have mud slung down the side & snow trekked tires.

Oh mercy, this weekend was just gorgeous.  Anyone else get the beautiful weather?  It gave me a taste of hope that Spring is just around the corner... right?  2 months to spring... let it get here quick.

The skies were blue, the air was crisp... I even got to get out & do a 5k... my first of the year.  Now, granted... I walked 90% of it... & that's totally OK with me. It just felt good to move.  Felt really odd & strange to even run again.  I was just glad to be inhaling fresh air.

Ricky had to work on Saturday.... I hate when he has to go in.  He works so hard Monday - Friday so I hate when he doesn't get a full break for his legs & feet.  Once he got home, he didn't feel like doing anything that involved getting ready & going back out. I didn't blame him one bit.

That left us at home for the rest of Saturday... Harvey Dent loved that.  A beautiful day meant lots of Frisbee time.

Harvey likes "Mud time" as well...
I don't even know how this happened is the scary thing

Sunday had us at church...

Ricky & I went out to lunch at O'Charleys - I'll always brag about their black bean burger.  But by the time we left there, I thought I needed to stop at the bar for a drink... & I don't drink....

Our waiter was AWFUL!!!  We were there for an hour & a half... we got no refills... he forgot things we asked for - repeatedly... We try to keep patience because I can't imagine the job of being a waiter/waitress... but this was crazy.  By the time we left, my stress level was on a 10.

We headed over to Sam's Club to walk a bit... we needed to after sitting for so long in the booth at the restaurant.

I don't think we can ever get out of there for under $100...

Sam's Club... where my husband tries out doggie beds

I did get out of the store though without a new book.  That's actually sad news to me.

I spend the rest of my Sunday catching up on my DVR...
...Jane the Virgin - ADORE IT!  I'm so excited its back this week.
...Arrow - what the heck just happened in the winter finale????? Is he really dead?
...Whitney Houston movie on Lifetime - stupid. Just stupid.
...Celebrity Apprentice - What the heck is that secretary always writing in that little notebook while they are waiting to call the celebrities back in the Boardroom.  Is that really her job to sit there all day?  & I thought my job was bad.... but I bet she gets paid way more then me so I'd probably trade her jobs any day.

So onto another week....

Hopefully one where I can eat & drink on my regular schedule...

How was your weekend?

  1. I hope you finally get some answers from your ultrasound! But no food or drink after midnight is rough! I always need something to drink first thing in the morning. I always wonder how rocks get in my floor board too! We don't even have any gravel at our house! And I have NO patience for bad waiters/waitresses. I wouldn't want their job either but it's there job!

  2. Jane the Virgin? I've never heard of it! I didn't watch the Whitney movie because I heard that the family had nothing to do with the making, and they weren't happy about it. BUT, apparently the family was invited to preview it & declined.
Over the past couple of weekends, I've caught up on NCIS, NCIS New Orleans, State of Affairs, Madame Secretary, and a couple of others that I can't think of right now! Yep, I needed this vegging out...but I did get my house clean! :)

  4. Our weather this weekend was supposed to be delightful. I wouldn't know as I was indoors all day Saturday and Sunday at a swim meet (so I'm not complaining). It's going to be a nice day here today, so I'm going to take advantage of it before I have to go report for my scan at 3:30. I don't have to do anything to prepare for mine, thankfully. 3:30 would be way too late to have to fast! :-o I'm praying that you'll get good results for your scan!

  9. I haven't seen Jane the Virgin. Will have to check it out. Hope your test goes well. As soon as they say I can't have anything to drink I feel like I'm dying of thirst : ) We have snow in our forecast for tomorrow and my car is filthy. The car wash hasn't been open because it's too cold. I'm ready for a taste of spring though!

  10. Hope you get a good report from your test.

It was beautiful here too. Especially yesterday! I went out in the son yesterday to take pictures of some items for my Etsy shop. Hope the sunlight helps the colors show better.

  11. Girl, I've been needing to clean my car out for weeks! It seriously looks like the "stuff" monster threw up in it. I hope to get around to it sometime this week. Well shall see. Lol. SAM's is a money death trap for me... It sounds like you had a great weekend! :)
