1. When did you last sing happy birthday to someone? When were you last sung to? Does that embarrass you or do you enjoy being the center of attention on your special day?
Funny timing of this question....
Ricky got me a balloon on my birthday - December 30th - that sings the coolest version of the Happy Birthday song. Well, Ricky doesn't only get me a balloon on special events for MY benefit, but for his as well. He LOVES to let the balloons go after a few weeks. He's like a big kid when we go outside & release it & see how far we can watch it.... its the simple things...
But I REFUSED to let him let go of my Birthday balloon. It has literally sat in my foyer since December 30th... & it got played at least a few times a week.
The helium has deflated & it was on the ground the past few months so even when the dogs would walk by, their tails or paws would hit it & the happy little ditty would start playing. (Kinda freaking hearing it in the middle of the night for no reason... but learned it was the dogs setting it off)
So yesterday, Ricky went to play it again... it completely shorted out...
I told him we hadn't played it since Buffy died. The balloon didn't want to play anymore without our yellow dog in the house...
Ricky cut open the balloon to see how it worked. I wanted to see if we could replace batteries... I'm gonna miss that song...
Man - bet you didn't think that answer would be so long....
2. Name a famous or 'infamous' person who shares your birth month and day. Is that someone you'd like to meet in person if it were possible?
I know this because I always watched Entertainment Tonight to see who I shared a birthday with.
Matt Lauer
Tiger Woods
Davy Jones
Mike Nesmith
Laila Ali
Anyone else ready to break out in "Last Train to Clarksville" |
I was always so excited that not one, but TWO Monkees had the same birthday as me. I love me some Monkees
3. Someone hands you a box tied up in a lovely bow...what are you hoping to find inside?
I'm always happy with anything... big, small... knowing someone thought of me is always the best
...unless its dog poop...don't give me dog poop...
4. What is something you can guarantee about yourself?
I guarantee I will randomly break out in song at least once a day....
5. Talking about art and beautiful cities here...'The Last Supper' in the Santa Maria della Grazie Abbey in Milan, Italy or 'The Mona Lisa' in the Louvre, Paris...which would you most like to see up close and in person? Why?
I had to laugh, because odds of me being in Milan or Paris EVER is just funny...
I'd go with The Mona Lisa though... just because I'd be interested in seeing Paris. Not that I think the painting is anything amazing. How DID that painting get to be so amazing? Is it really that great of a painting? ... art = subjective
6. Your favorite dessert?
How long can this list be?
I will say, I'm a pie girl... give me some apple pie with cool whip....
mmm... perfect for Fall too....
But I do love my parent's Hershey Pie too... mmm... I guess that's technically a pie too. Frozen Hershey bar mixed with cool whip in a pie shell?
I bet I just gained 2 lbs thinking of these things....
I'll never see a pie & not say this |
7. This coming weekend marks the official start of autumn (in the northern hemisphere)...what is something you do to get ready for fall? What is one thing you're looking forward to on your fall calendar? Spring or fall-which do you prefer?
I LOVE FALL!!!! The cooler weather, the colors, all the decorations...
I always look forward to Halloween. Don't know why since we get NO trick or treaters where we live now... but I just always love watching the specials & shows where everyone dresses up...
I love decorating my house in leaves & pumpkins & all things orange...
I wish it were Fall all year round
I never get enough of all these "All the things" meme |
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Allergies are kicking the Vincent gang's butt....
Ricky is coughing & congested...
my nose is running & I'm sneezing all day long
Sydney is even coughing & sneezing both... taking after BOTH her momma & daddy
I've never known my Fall allergies to be worse then Spring ones...
maybe I'm going to rethink my answer to #7
This sneeze is SNOT funny .... see what I did there?.... oh yeah! |
1. My sister Alexis also shares your birthday!
ReplyDelete2. I've been to the Louvre and seen The Mona Lisa (behind the 8 inch bulletproof glass) and the display (red carpet leading to it with velvet ropes) is far more impressive than the painting. I also don't love Paris.
3. I LOVE FALL. Have you tried raw local honey for allergies? It's helped me a lot.
I loved your balloon answer. I was a Monkees fan too...takes me right back to Jr. High. I know they were a contrived group, but still so likable.
ReplyDelete"Hey, hey, we're the Monkees!" You bet your boots, I'm a big fan! I have troubles with my allergies every single year...it's so frustrating! I'm on Allegra and I use a prescription nasal spray 4 times a day. So far, so good. I always love your funny little clips!
ReplyDeleteAs always, I am sure we share some DNA somewhere.
ReplyDelete1. Never had a singing balloon, but every singing card I've ever gotten is in a dresser drawer somewhere in this house.
2. TWO Monkees??? All I have is one Ben Affleck. No fair!
3. Would you believe I actually did think of saying "not dog poop?" With 2 dogs who are alone in the house a lot of the day...I see way too much of that!
4. I will do that, but you will never hear me.
5. Ditto on the places I'll never be. I didn't think of that angle...too funny.
7. YES!! Fall is the bestest time of the year. :) And you can NEVER have too many pumpkin flavored things. Not ever.
8. Geshundheit!
When i became a grandmother I was told I would have to break out in song and dance anywhere. I have not changed even with 6 grandchildren.
