Friday... in the words of the great Barry Manilow, looks like we made it!!
Time for Five on Friday
ONE // Kimye Wedding
Really?... REALLY???? |
Dear fellow Americans, we are looking like idiots when Kimye is our big news story.
Please let me know if you even care about this... or if you're like me & just taking bets on how long it will last. (Other side note: Baby North is gorgeous)
TWO // X-Men
I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am that this movie starts this weekend. Yes, Hugh Jackman MAY have something to do with it, but I really do love the whole X-men franchise. When Ricky & I started dating, he would have me watch the X-men cartoons with him & I really enjoyed them. It soon turned into a pop quiz as he would ask me, "Who is that?" - "What is their power?".... I'm pretty decent on my superhero trivia now. Thankyouverymuch. But the previews of this movie looks like it is on Superhero OVERLOAD... tons of X-men characters. I can't wait.
& oh yeah... Hugh Jackman
THREE // John Green
All the talk is about The Fault in our Stars right now... which I'm also in countdown to see the movie & loved the book. But a young man in my youth group is a big John Green fan & he knows I love books. He told me its a must to read all his other books. So I went straight to Amazon & downloaded them on my Kindle. Right now, I'm in the middle of Paper Towns ... & loving it!!!
I really wonder if this guy is the next John Hughes of this generation. John Green is pretty awesome if you ever watch any of his videos or read anything he talks about. He also has his own YouTube channel called "Vlogbrothers" if you want to check more of him out.
What other John Green books have you read?
FOUR // Wear Blue to Remember
Yes, I'm looking forward to a day off work on Monday. But I want to try & remember what the day is about. You can go to the site in the picture above & dedicate some miles to this cause. You can walk, you can run, you can pick your own miles. It's just saying you're going to take time to actually remember the importance of the day.... & wear blue while you're doing it. Easy enough.
For the fallen. For the fighting. For the families
FIVE // The Truth of Running
This just makes me laugh ... The 'deal' on the running shoes is my favorite part.
"He just kept getting medal... after medal... after medal....."
Happy Friday everyone!!!
I am SO with you on Kim & Kanye! UGH! Oh, and I have a friend who loves John Green and The Fault in Our Stars is actually her least favorite of his books. I haven't even read that one yet even though it's been on my Kindle for months.
ReplyDeleteI will admit I don't mind Kim or the Kardashians, BUT I really am not interested in the wedding either. It's just really not exciting or newsworthy to me. I love the reminder to wear blue. We all love an extra day off, but you're so right in the importance of taking the time to remember WHY we get the day off!
ReplyDeleteI thought they were already married??? I guess that tells you how much I care. My husband is into superhero anything so I'm right there with you. Hugh Jackman does make more enjoyable to watch! I'm starting The Fault in our Stars this weekend and I'm so excited because I've heard such good things about it! Happy Friday :)
ReplyDeleteOh my! That video was hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI seriously can't stand Kanye, therefore all this Kimye stuff drives me nuts haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm sick of Kim and Kanye PERIOD! I'm sure they'll be divorced quickly anyway... same as her last huge overpublicized wedding.
ReplyDeleteOh their dumb wedding makes me want to slap someone!
ReplyDeleteHaha the Kimye wedding is ridiculous because we all know they're going to be divorced and in a giant custody battle in a couple of years. I want to watch the Will & Kate wedding again! Now that was amazing!
ReplyDeleteI just finished Looking for Alaska by John Green... it was good, but now as good as The Fault in Our Stars. I'll have to read Paper Towns next!
ReplyDeleteKimye...I hate to say it, but I think it's all about publicity. In a few months, they will separate and then maybe get back together...all for publicity...ick!
ReplyDeleteJohn Green...I was not a fan of Fault in Our Stars, but found it interesting what Aimee above said about it being the least favorite book of a friend who really likes him. I'll be waiting on your review of Paper Towns :)
