I set my goal for 2020 up a few books & I'm a TAD above schedule... still want to make more time for reading. Especially while its cold & I just want to snuggle in.  Funny how life doesn't oblige to what I want to do... oh well - at least I got a few books in January read.

**** / Really Liked It

Quick Summary:  A girl mets the guy she wants to marry but her mother in law keeps coming in between their relationship

OK - I'm late reading this & I hear every one talking about it so I sort of expected a twist in the ending.  I figured about half way through where it was going, & then in the end, I was still wrong.  I was half way right.  Just becuase so many have already read it, I'm gonna talk about it... so if you haven't read it yet - SPOILER ALERT...

WALK AWAY....

PAGE DOWN & dont read any further!!!

SPOILER!!!!    I figured that Pammie was actually OK & trying to push her away, but I thought it was going to do more with James - the other Brother. I thought he was going to be the crazy one.  Then when I found out he's OK, it made me so mad that Emily missed her opportunity to have a good life with him. UGH.

YOU CAN COME BACK NOW!

Anyways, this book really held me in - I would get so mad about the characters... I wanted to throw the book - but it was my Kindle so I decided not to... & I just had to see where this story was going. So yeah, I enjoyed it.

“There’s something about your mother’s voice that nobody else can replicate. That takes you back to school, when you were little and waiting in the nurse’s office for her to come and pick you up.”

36388243. sy475 Something in the Water
** / It was OK

Quick Summary:  A couple on their honeymoon find a bag in the ocean that changes their life forever.

I heard a lot about this book & so much hype around it. I was very disappointed with it.  To me, it was drawn out - I felt like it had situations & story lines in it that weren't connected in any way, I actually found it  very predictable.  I also thought the writing wasn't that great. I would find the same sentences repeated in the same paragraphs... over & over.  Not a one time thing.

I just wanted to get to the end of the story & move on from this one in the end.

I'm beginning to realize that being rich doesn't really mean having money to buy things' it means having money to avoid the rules

43822820The Family Upstairs
**** / Really Liked it

Quick Summary:  When a young lady discovers she inherits a house on her 25th birthday, she learns the story of her family & then is on the discovery to learn the REAL truth of what happened in this home.

I was hooked into this one. It took me a few chapters to understand the different people telling the story, but I loved each & every POV.  I was anxious to get to the end of find out the truth & didnt want to put this one down.

I will say, I'm still a little confused at the last chapter & how it ended.  Trying to discover if love or crazy is involved... but maybe that's all the same thing.  Anyways, I loved the grip this story had on me.

All men are weak.  That's the whole bloody trouble with the world.  Too weak to love properly.  Too weak to be wrong.... I immediately knew it to be the truest thing I've ever heard.  The weakness of men lay at the root of every bad thing that ever happened.

What book are you reading right now?
