I dont know about y'all - but I tend to want to stay away from everything on Valentine's Day. I feel like food is cold, service is rushed, prices are high on food & dinner. It's just a big scam really.
We usually do Pizza night on Friday but I tried to make Valentine's a little special for Ricky since he has been taking care of the horses every day during the week, & I knew he had to work on Saturday - so I told him I'd pick up a Valentine's dinner for us. Chuey's for the Valentine's win - which actually, everything was skimped. The rice - the chips - the salsa. Yep - Valentine's scam at its finest.
I did stop & get him a Starbucks to bring home for the morning & I also picked up his favorite - a pecan pie from Homemade Pie Kitchen.
I got home - after dealing with Valentine's & Friday traffic (GRRR) - & found a little surprise for me waiting on the counter. Ricky had picked me up some beautiful roses & found me the CUTEST Beauty & the Beast socks. I honestly am not sure I want to wear them because I dont want to mess them up. If I do wear them, I think I'll have to wear my Mary Jane Crocs with them so everyone can see how cute they are.
Friday night, I had plans of watching PS I Love You - I was so super pumped about it... but I was tired, which I always am on Fridays... & thought I want to go back & watch To All the Boys I Loved Before... just to get refreshed. I have read all the books but I know they change things in the movie & wanted a reminder of how awesome Peter Kavisnky is. I drifted off to bed with dreams that I was a Song-Covey sister.
Saturday, like I mentioned, Ricky had to work....
But I got up while he was ready to leave & was able to catch the most beautiful sunrise at 7:30am....
& since I had my camera in my hand to take these pics - I figured I would snap some pics of my morning. I really miss my camera & want to start using it more....
It was only 10 degrees that morning - FREEEZINNGGGG.... the furniture on the front porch had ice all over it....

& then this one just wants to be held. He's the biggest cuddler there is - I love my Harvey Dent.
Made some Peanut Butter toast for breakfast...
& then had some time to do some Bible Study in bed....I love me the weekends!
... time to check email & do some blogging ....with coffee of course....
My roses peeking over my computer...
Time to break out my new dish towels that I got at the Dollar Store for $1.00 each last weekend!!! Arent they super cute? I mean, for $1.00 - how can you NOT get these?
& then it was time for the Hubs to get home & treat time for these two boys who are always happy to have us both home.
The rest of Saturday was filled with cleaning - & then a break...
Some working out... & then another break...
Some going to the barn time... & then another break...
Getting out & seeing that the suns till existed (PRAISE THE LORD) & then some more Netflix....
& then some time to get Bruno up & moving. He ate & drank so well & ended up doing 15 "laps" - the distance from the couch & back again....
Finally, after a busy/lazy day, & a shower from all of it, I snuggled in for the new P.S. I Love You on Netflix.
Still love me some Peter... & these are just so cute & done well. Of course - OF COURSE - I still love the book better. I wish there was more Stormy in it. I cant remember if she has a bigger presence in Book 3 or if she was in 2 a lot & just cut down? I need to re-read all 3 of these books. I remember they were pretty fast reads.
Sunday, I woke up fairly early in thanks to Ernie biting my toes... ERNIE!!!... & dont know how I feel into the show Flirty Dancing on Hulu.... but man, I WAS OBSESSED!!! I was all about it. I got 3 episodes in before church & ended up finishing the last 3 when I got home. SUPER CUTE!! I so need more of these episode to happen.
I think this is based off a British show? Can Hulu please get these on ASAP?
Between Valentine's Day - the cute little Netflix movies (love you Peter Kravinsky) & people falling in love dancing with strangers... I just felt all the heart emojis flying around my head all weekend.
Back to Sunday....Church was great though because I had a little surprise when my niece text me to see if I was going & that she wanted to come with me - again. ALWAYS & EVERY TIME!
We had a great time... went for the usual Starbucks trip & ended up getting to church a half hour early - so we went to Home Goods for a half hour & shopped around... & then had a great time at HSM talking about AWKWARDNESS... hello - related so well with that...
Then we left church & went to Michael's & my niece was talking about that she was wanting a planner - well COME ONE MAN - these are the things that your aunt can step up to the game & take care of. They had Happy Planners on sale for 70% off all the 2020 calendars - so we got her a planner & some inserts she was wanting - all under $15.00. SCORE! & even more excited to introduce her to the world of planning!!!
I got home & after finishing up Flirty Dancing - time to do some adulting... which I guess every weekend has to have SOME adulting in it.
Gorgeous sunset Sunday evening |
But we're back to Monday. President's Day - which will be a weird one for me since I need the mail & that's closed today. I'm using it as a day to get caught up on a bunch of things that have been pushed aside, so I'll definitely still be busy today. But all the while, rest assured, I'm having dreams of dance routines with perfect strangers.
I'm telling you... Flirty Dancing is adorable if you need something to waste time & you love a mix of So you think you can dance & the Bachelor. Who would have know.
How was your weekend?
Did you do anything for Valentine's Day?
Have you watched Flirty Dancing... or the new PS I Love You?
Are you off today for President's Day?
