1.  What's the last job you did that required elbow grease?

Cleaning the floor around the edge, under the cabinets.  The floor has 'grooves' in it & a mop doesnt get in there & the dirt will build up.  So I have to get on my hands & knees with Clorax Wipes & I have to dig in those grooves... Its hard to do too when you have four dogs trying to lay down on you.  They love when someone gets down on their level.

2.  March Madness, aka the men's Division I basketball championship, is nearing an end...what sort of 'madness' has your house seen this month?

The original madness - the March Madness!  You've heard me complain about UK & UL arguments with Ricky & other fans... & now, BOTH teams face off in the Final Four?  Every day, Ricky has to talk to me about it... though I'm not allowed to talk back, in case I may jinx the team with even my words.  I'm planning on keeping 911 on my cell phone (upstairs, FAR away from a TV) in case of heart attack symptoms.

Our town is threatening everyone too... no riots... because no matter what, someone's gotta loose... & its NOT gonna be pretty.

3. What's your favorite shop for browsing?

Target Baby... always Target... I can go in there & look for the longest time... & then go back & do it all over again...

4. Is there ever a time when giving up makes sense?

Yes... it makes sense when it just get too tough... KIDDING!

Of course there's a time... I'm gonna go all deep & Biblical on you & throw Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 at you... there's a time for everything...

Time for Everything
3 For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
2 A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
3 A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
4 A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
5 A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
6 A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
7 A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
8 A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

5. What's a song you love that contains the name of a city, state or country in its title?

First thing I think of is "Sweet Home Alabama"... & then, of course, "my Old Kentucky Home" (You cant live around Churchill Downs & not love that song) -  but then I thought, what else is out there?  Hello Mr. Google...

& 2 fun ones came up that I had to give a thumbs up to:

Tell me how GROOVY ABBA is! :)  You cant sit still when ABBA is playing - you gotta put on some funky clothes & just sway to the music.  (Where IS Waterloo?)

& then another

Do you know, there is a FULL song with this?  HAHA!  Dont say you dont leave my blog knowing more then when you came here!

6. When did you first begin using a computer?

You know that saying, "I'm older then the internet"?... yep - that's me.  I can honestly remember when Ricky & I bought a computer in Circuit City about 18 yrs ago & was like, "Is this internet thing going to really stick around or is it like a BETA player?"

that's a true story!

But I can remember having a RADIO SHACK computer when I was little.  It hooked into the TV!  & to do anything, you had to type in DAYS worth of a code & if one thing was wrong... a period, or a comma in the wrong place, you'd get <<>> at the end...

Thank God computers have come a long way.

7. Did you buy girl scout cookies this year? What's your favorite?

I did good... I only bought 3 boxes.  Ricky devoured 2 of them in one day... the other box?  Thin Mints... & they're still in the freezer.  I have like 2 cookies a week.  Ricky hates them cold.  SCORE 1 FOR ME!!!!

my favorite?  I used to be a Samoa girl... but I think I may have changed to a Tagalong gal... mmmm.... so glad its only once a year.  I've got enough other temptations in life.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Kroger is getting on my bad list.... I made the most A-MAZ-ING salad last night (pictures to come) & it called for Feta cheese.  I just bought some at the grocery on Saturday.  I went to open it last night... it expired Feb 1, 2012!!!! DANG IT!!!!!  I just bought it!  .... & Ricky did the same thing.  Stopped by & got some cocktail sauce & got home, opened it & it STUNK!... it had gone bad in 2011!!!!!

I know you're supposed to look, but come on Kroger... you need to check the shelves too!

  1. My first thought, "Greater things are still to become to this city..." Do you know that praise song?

We didn't buy GS cookies. We asked how much the troop makes per box, and they told us forty cents. So we gave them $3 which is kind of like them selling almost eight boxes. That counts, right?

Expiration dates! Arrrgghh! Our grocery store is pretty good about them, but really, are we expected to look with all the things on our lists? I do check milk, but I stink (pun intended) at looking at any others.

  3. Woot - shout out to the city where I'm sitting right now (Cincinnati - heh). I like Alison Kraus's version of "Atlanta" & then there's Georgia... and Nothing Could Be Finer than to be in Carolina... I could go on all day :)

We had the computer hooked to the TV when I was a teenager - I loved writing a program to change the screen & font color - good times. Heh. I first started using a "real" computer in 1987 in Zambia of all places - I was the mission secretary. That was fun.

  4. So, you're a "Sweet Home Alabama" girl, too, I see! Rock on, sista! Oh, I love "Waterloo" and I'll be singing it all day long now! I could lose myself in Target...they have some of the cutest things! That's pretty disgustng about the cheese and cocktail sauce. I think if I were you, I'd have to sit down and write Kroger an 'onion letter'.

  5. Wow...you really got me thinking about the "good old days" (all of about 20 years ago...) with BetaMax!! We my husband and I refer to things having the potential of being "Betmax" the kids don't know what we are going on about. And yes, even at the grand old age of 40 I am as old (if not older) than the internet. I feel like a dinosaur wah!!

  6. I remember taking "computer class" in 1985 in High school. I failed it! All those crazy codes completely overwhelmed me. Now, had they had a Blogging 101...
