My babies were still there!!!! .... Thankful Thursday #91

This week I am Thankful For:
{The numbers go with my One Thousand Gifts Journal/just ignore them}

852 / Ricky made it to lunch. If you've been around here for a bit, you know the hubs & I meet every Wednesday for lunch.  Ever since my work moved, it's just become a habit, so we've been doing it for 2 years now.  This past week, Ricky called me while I was on my way there & said he wasn't going to be able to make it. Something at work was holding him up.  I was on my way anyways & the people that own that Subway know us there every week so I just went on my own... & was so excited when I looked up & Ricky ended up making it.

853 / Survived traffic.  Oh goodness. It took me 1 hour 30 minutes to get to work. Traffic has been a NIGHTMARE lately. total nightmare.  I've heard it took some people longer than 2 hours.  That I survived without puking was a miracle.

854 / Fall!!! We made it to the BEST SEASON EVER!!!

856 / Starbucks deals.  Every time they have specials on drinks, I'll take advantage of it.  & when they had Pumpkin Spice Lattes & Salted Caramel Fraps for $3.00 - I'm there.  So was Ricky.

858 / Amazon Prime Music.  I've just recently been taking advantage of my Amazon Prime membership by using Amazon Music.  I've been bluetooth-ing the Christian music channel to speakers & letting it play all day long on the weekends.  I may need to cancel my Spotify membership.

 :

859 / Natural Bliss coffee creamer. My all time favorite creamer & love they have Pumpkin Spice for all things fall & all things pumpkin!!!

 :

861 / Fall Nail Polish.  I love when the darker reds & browns are the 'in' colors to wear. Especially because I wear them all season long anyways. At least now, I feel like I'm up to date on something.

863 / Time at home.  I talked about this Monday but it ended up being a blessing that everything canceled & I got to spend time at home.  Harvey Dent was happy about it too

 :
This was literally taken in the morning (note the beautiful sun rise glow #goldenhour) & Harvey
was so excited we were home & Ricky had to tell him it wasn't Play Time.

865 / MSM Girls.  I had one of my MSM girls tell me about a concert she was singing in for school. I went to go see her & support her... & then loved it when I walked in & saw THREE other girls from our small group singing in the concert as well!  Love to support these young girls in all they do!

See that huge group of ladies? I know for a fact in that crowd are some AMAZING AWESOME young ladies. Came out to cheer on my @msm_indiana girls. Great job @ella_lavigne3. @christina.smith.03 Josie & Kendall. Y'all impress me so much! ❤ #hhms #msmfamily:

866 / Windows open. I love fresh air in a house so much!!!

868 / Dogs still at home..... you ready for this because I'm STILL shaking about it.  So, our back yard, we have a garage that you can get in with a side door from our back yard.  For some reason, we have NO IDEA how this happened, I came home from work & go out to throw the frisbee for Harvey after work & look up & see that door is open into the garage ... AND THE GARAGE DOOR IS OPEN AS WELL!!!... So basically, my dogs could have just walked through it & gotten away from us forever.  I literally want to puke at the idea.  We honestly have no idea how the big garage door was even open.  We hardly use that garage - it just holds Ricky truck he only drives maybe once a month (his play truck) & lawn mowers.  & the door to the back yard is so hard to open too, we cant imagine how it happened.  The whole thing is so bizarre.  We have no idea how long it was open - was it like that all day long?  All that time our dogs could have gotten away from us????? ... I cried & shook for an hour just thinking of the possibility.  Ricky keeps saying, "No harm, no foul"... but my brain dont work like that. I have been checking our security cameras on the hour every hour now to see if the dogs are OK & still there.  THANK YOU JESUS my dogs all stayed in the back yard & in the house instead of venturing away.

869 / Everything not stolen.  I went to go walking at the park the other day. I took my ipod & the battery was dead so I left it in the car.  That was in the front seat, my wallet was under the seat & there was also a bag from Old Navy of clothes I needed to take back.  Not to mention a back hatchback full of photo gear.  I set my alarm on my car & took off... & then came back & saw I LEFT THE BACK WINDOW DOWN!!!!!!!! OH MY GOSH. But everything was as it was in the same place. WHEW!!!!
Can I say it again? THANK YOU JESUS!!!!

  1. Oh I would have been flipping out about the dogs too. So glad they are safe.

We had a beautiful run of weather here but unfortunately I think it ended today and Fall has arrived. It's rainy and in the mid to high 60's. A far cry from the 88 degrees last week!

  2. I feel the same way when I find a hole in our pool screening and the cats have gotten out. Thankfully, they always find their way home and it hasn't happened in a long time now (knock wood!). I am having so much fun looking for giphy images to put in my thankful blog. Copying you and sure hope you don't mind! I enjoyed reading your post today, Rebecca Jo. Thanks for hosting!

  3. Gah heart attack city on the dog scenario. I've been there, with the gate open. Gus and Geege toddle over to the next yard. Nightmare.

Girl, when the dogs got out of the backyard and showed up at our front door with the stranger I was CRYING and SHAKING, too. So scary. I'm so glad your babies stayed put- I'd still be shaken up, too!

  6. oh my gosh. that feeling when you realise your pet could have gotten out is so, so horrible. one day KC shut the front door without noticing Millie had snuck in between the big door and the glass door, and we heard her meowing, she was only in there for a couple minutes at most and had plenty of room, but it terrified me all the same because the glass door wasn't shut properly, and she *could* have pushed on it, or someone could have seen her and it just hurts my stomach :( glad you didn't have anything stolen either, that would suck big time.
so Salted Caramel Fraps sound amazing.. and how do you know when they have sales? i don't drink coffee, but i do drink the fraps without coffee sometimes (i always get weird looks for that lol) and i have never tried the caramel one.

  7. So glad your dogs did not escape!! We came home a couple weeks ago and our front door was slightly open, and our cats could have gotten out at any time. We have a problem with our doors not shutting all the way, so we have to make sure to double check before we leave the house. Definitely freaked me out. I was just looking at phone cases and thought you should know that this exists: https://www.etsy.com/listing/451390584/hand-painted-belle-phone-cases-iphone-6?ref=shop_home_active_23 . I know you have a different phone, but I immediately thought of your Belle obsession lol.

  9. Oh goodness - our dogs have gotten out of the backyard a few times but usually when we're around in the front and they just wanted to hang out with the humans. One time they did though - we couldn't find them - the bigger pug had pushed through the poorly-attached gate and I was in a panic. Matt had the idea to yell their names and then "Wanna go for a walk?!?!" and they came running from across the creek! Silly things were free as could be and they were so excited to be asked to go for a walk. I still remember the panic though and that backyard is secure now! I'd definitely be thankful in your case too!

  10. So glad your doggies didn't leave!!! We had a huge scare with Mac this morning. Chris was leaving for work and I heard the garage door close and then open back up and he is calling me on his phone and has his cute play with Mac tone going and says hey baby come open the front door please all happy like and I run down the stairs and there is Mac running at me full force covered in some dirt and blue chemical stuff. We have NO CLUE how he escaped our backyard but we think our lawn guy came and didn't close up. Chris was backing out and saw Mac in his backup camera. Thank GOODNESS for that camera or he might have hit him because he is so tiny. I was running late and then even later because I had to give Mac a bath to get whatever blue stuff was on him off. Goodness! What a scare! So I totally feel ya!! And I have left my car unlocked by accident and swore all my stuff would be gone too. Cant trust people these days!

  11. OH, I am SO glad and relieved for you that the dogs didn't leave. My dog, Dakota, once got out of the house and ran straight towards the road on my mom's busy street... I nearly had a heart attack. You can seriously feel your heart start to pound whenever the possibility of an incident with one of the babies happens. PHEW! <3

  12. I just started exploring Amazon Prime music a couple months ago and love it too! That's so weird about the open garage door :( I;m glad the dogs were ok!

  13. What a lucky week with the dogs not getting out and nothing being stolen from your car! YESSSS to fall being here now!!!

  14. Holy cow, you have gotten so lucky both times, wow, that is amazing that the pets were still there, and that you are living by some honest people. Phew! And yes to the nail polish thing, I would prefer dark colors too, but will wear lighter colors for Spring and Summer...because isn't that what we should do? hehe...although currently I have a darkish grey color, so I'm transitioning now :)

  15. So glad those babies are safe and sound!

  16. It takes me 20 to get to work and about an hour-hour and a half to come home. Crazy, right? Traffic used to make me mad, anxious, etc, and then one day I accepted it. Feeling that way did nothing to make me better. I refuse to let something I can't control bother me so much--I'm not this way in all situations though, hehe!

Instead, I play podcasts or audiobooks, or sometimes a favorite movie that I don't have to watch, I just play it to hear it, if that makes sense. I play music too or comedy (listen to it). The comedy specials really work. Doesn't mean I'm like, "YEAH! TRAFFIC! My fave!" But it's a part of life for living in the city for me.

  17. That is great that everything was still in your car when you came back. That would have been awful. I am really loving Fall nail polish too. I just got my toes done in a chocolate with orange glitter and I LOVE it!
