Its there!!!

So I bought myself a new pedometer yesterday. I had to run into Target to get the dogs some dog food & how do you just go into Target & look at one thing? I am still weak from the flu but balanced myself against a cart & went wandering around. I found the cutest Pedometer marked down on clearance for $6.00!!! I had to get it... why? Because Megan has inspired me with her pedometer & all the steps she does in a normal day... plus, it was PINK... how do you pass that up?

Yes, Ricky got me one for Valentine's day that goes on the wrist, but that's not good for every day use. Your arms have to swing with that... & like in Target, leaning against the cart with no arm swing-age (is that a word) - it wouldnt have counted....

And yes, I know I'm supposed to get 10,000 steps in a day... SERIOUSLY? Its 3:00 in the afternoon & I only have 1491 steps in... that is sadder than sad - that's pitiful!!! I'll make up at least 6000 on the treadmill - but dang, that's bad!

What's funny though is I'm so aware the pedometer is there now. Usually, I'd pile up things on my desk to do in one trip. Like get my filing, my recycling, my things that need to go in the mail - pile them up so when I have to go "tinkle" (I love that word!) I can do it all in one trip.

Not with the Pedometer on... I'm like, "I gotta get more steps in - gotta do more" - so I've been walking around more than usual.... & STILL have such a low number... that's again, just sad...

But the thing is - its pushing me.... I know its there! I am held accountable with this thing here....

How often do we go through life & not feel accountable to anything? How often do we not feel pushed to strive to do the right thing or the Godly thing?

I had to laugh to myself because I thought maybe I need to put Jesus' face on my pedometer too so when I look down to see how many steps I've taken, I can remember He's there too - & I can think - how many steps have I taken in the path He wants me to take today?

Hebrews 13:5 - ...because God has said, "Never will I leave you,
never will I forsake you"

  2. Haha! Love this!!! I must say though I am so jealous of your PINK pedometer!!!!
Isn't it crazy how you become more aware of your steps?? I have had people tell me that they aren't very accurate but I told them it worked for me in my mind, it made me want to move around more and be more active!
And 10,000 steps is hard to get in one day! I love the Jesus' face idea. Too cute!

  9. Rebecca,
I have not been a good blog reader this week -- so sorry. I am just having a week, you know.

HAHAHA I love Megan and her pedometer antics. But some how it has not inspired me to go buy one. I probably should and now that 2 of my fav blog kids have one I may have to go get one just to have a few antics of my own =)

Love ya girl -- have a Blessed day,
    Dawn

  12. I used to faithfully wear a podometer. It's so fun. 10,000 steps is a lot. I think I was usually around 6,000.
